Our group had a great time at Baptise & Bottle. We were all celebrating different things (friends in town, birthday, and a new job.) The waiter was aware of our celebrations and made sure to give us extra attention (along with a free ticket to the dessert bar which was nice.) The food and bottomless mimosas were delicious. I would definitely go back here and look forward to it when it warms up.
Went for brunch for St. Patrick’s day and had a splendid time. Attentive and knowledgeable wait staff. Had holiday themed cocktails. Amazing food.
My husband and I were extremely disappointed in our experience at Baptiste & Bottle! We made reservations at 7:00AM to enjoy their St Patrick’s Day celebration as advertised on Eventbrite Rally. The celebration was supposed to run from 6:30AM - 10:00PM but when we asked about their specials we were informed the specials weren’t starting until 11:00AM. We traveled from out of state to celebrate St Patrick’s Day in Chicago and would have chosen a different location for breakfast had we known this information. The server seemed half asleep, the food was mediocre, and the disappointment high due to false advertisement.
There was a lady with her dog in the restaurant. Very off putting
Came here for Saturday lunch and fully enjoyed the experience. The drinks were fantastic - tried the Dealer’s Roulette (noted my preferred taste profile to the waitress) and was not disappointed. The food was fantastic too but note that it’s on the heartier side (at least their brunch menu options). The views and general ambiance were on point - can’t beat views of the city from the 20th floor.
This is an amazing restaurant!
Enjoyed this place a lot
We were so happy with the friendly service and delicious food!
Younas was a great and provided good service. Specialty sandwich came out over-cooked and sloppy, but an amazing manager, Iyala, helped to correct it and bring us another option. Views from the Conrad hotel are great. We will return.
This was one of the most delicious meals of my life. Sat with two friends and had the privilege of having Stephen as our waiter. He was attentive, anticipated our needs, and educated us where we needed info on menu items and drink choices. The crudo in lime juice, the beet salad, Berkshire pork, pasta, and Brussels sprouts were somehow, we agreed, some of the best plates we had ever enjoyed. The chocolate dessert with chocolate beignets was the perfect ending
Food is pricey, but wait staff and view were lovely! Will definitely bring out of town friends here.
The food and drinks here were great, but sadly the service was a mess. When we arrived for a 7:00 Friday evening reservation, we were told we would be seated around 7:30. But the hostess acknowledged there was no room to wait at the bar (because a lot of other late tables were there), and didn't offer any solutions as to where we could wait. She also didn't offer to buy us a drink for our inconvenience, and she basically seemed like she didn't know what she was doing.
We elbowed our way into the long table in front of the bar, but the bartenders were so harried that they were refusing to serve people. When we did finally get a bartender to pay attention to us, he complained that they were running out ingredients to make the house cocktails. He seemed genuinely distressed, but at the same time really unprofessional. We walked into the dining room, and there were several open 4 tops (we were a party of 4), so we went back and asked another person working the front of the room whey we couldn't be seated earlier. He promised to seat us at 7:15, but we were seated at about 7:25. The waiter working our table was great, but he seemed spread too thin as well, checking in with us only infrequently and slowing down our food and drink orders. Thankfully, when we did finally get orders in, both the cocktails and the food were excellent, but this place needs to staff up, train their people, and just generally act like they're in the hospitality industry.
I’ve been to Baptiste and Bottle a few times, but only once for dinner. For drinks, it’s a great place to go. However, our service at dinner was awful. I’m usually very patient and understanding, but our service was truly terrible and the restaurant was not that busy. I think our waiter forgot about us after we ordered appetizers. The food was very good, but the slow service will prevent me from going back for dinner. If you want a fun atmosphere for drinks, I recommend this place.
It was great food for the most part. (Bison was quite good, and the pasta was yummy. The not on the menu empanda was the best thing ive had in a long time, hope it goes to menu) However, the main reason we returned, was for the chocolate whip drink. This was amazing the first time we sat at the bar a few weeks ago. This past weekend, it was about half the size, and tasted much different, more like an irish coffee, than the luxurious hot chocolate drink the first was. Half the size, and same price of course.
The hotel vibe was more prevalent this time around as well. (young 20 something kids, vacationers, etc..)
We made a reservation at 11 which was after the breakfast rush but before the brunch rush. As my friends and I were finishing our meals it was getting quite loud with large groups checking in. The waiter David was prompt in explaining the drink specials which is always first on my mind during brunch.
My mom and I went to brunch for bottomless mimosas. Both our food (avacado toast and the lobster roll with a side of chicken sasauge) was EXCELLENT. Our server was wonderful and the general manager comped our drinks. Overall, an amazing experience and we will definitely be back!
I come here all the time. The hotel restaurant stigma never really made sense to me. Every time I have been here, the food has been innovative and delicious. The cocktails are great. This was the best meal I had for restaurant week.
The restaurant is on the 20th floor. Great city views. Nice decor. Friendly staff, good
service. Three courses offered during Restaurant Week. All the food offered was also
on their regular menu. Tasty.
Food was ok but the portions were very small. Service was non existent. The place was empty so the ambiance was awkward.
We went to Baptiste and Bottle for restaurant week and were disappointed with the menu. We didn't know that we couldn't order from their regular menu if we weren't pleased with the selections. I was not a big fan of the dessert and my husband did not enjoy the bone marrow first course.
The service was mediocre. We weren't checked on very much and had to ask for our waiter to get the check.
The ambiance was so-so. It was so dark so you couldn't really see much. We didn't get to sit at the window where there is an amazing view.
The only bright spot was the amazing bartender who had great knowledge of bourbon. He took good care of us while we waited for our table.
Food was excellent. The service was the worst I've experienced in a fine dining restaurant. The hostess didn't offer to take our giant winter coats and rolled her eyes when my husband asked her for a coat check. Our wine took so long to get to our table that we'd already been served our 1st course and eaten it. A 20 minute wait for the wine, no exaggeration. Dinner plates were not brought to the table at the same time it was a good 2 - 3 minute wait for the last person to be served (and we were all doing their pre fixe menu)! The bus staff wasn't properly trained either. Don't clear 3 out of 4 plates when patron 4 is still eating. It was great food but that's not hard to find in Chicago. I expect better service at that price point.
The staff was absolutely wonderful!!!!! Very attentive, courteous, friendly and efficient!!!! Loved the manager on Saturday Morning she is just a doll. Customer service is not easy but they make it seem flawless. It was my mother‘s 83rd birthday and the entire hotel staff made her feel so special my hats off to all of you! God Bless you all!!!!
This restaurant is beautiful with a great view from the 20th floor. The food and cocktails looked and tasted great. The staff were quick and attentive. It was busy but not loud, and the lighting and decor lend themselves to all kinds of occasions. We were on a date but I could easily see people stopping there after work as well. The only downside was the price tag, but you get what you pay for. I’d definitely go again.
The food was ok, each dish had a similar flavor profile regardless of what we ate with a slight tang you couldn't quite put your finger on. Also for the $44 dollar restaurant week menu I would have anticipated more that one bite per dish. The entree came and it was one scallop. We left and had to order more food elsewhere. We go to a handful of menus each year and this year and this didn't cut it for dinner.
It’s a hotel lobby so it’s pretty basic. Hotel carpet hotel furniture. Nothing exciting. Food was good but nothing to rave about. Service was NOT so great. Wld serve half the table and then the other half wld have to wait for 5-10 mins until they were served. Took forever to get drinks or refills ordered etc. Sort of meh.
Terrific meal. Great service. The squash salad was amazing.
I didn’t realize it was restaurant week until I got there. The special menu was fantastic but I want to go back to try the regular menu.
We did the tasting menu during Restaurant Week. The dishes were all good. The Yuzu ice cream dessert was amazing. Tom was attentive and the space was relaxing and well laid out with great views. Definitely want to go back and try again
My friend and I wanted to participate in Restaurant Week Chicago while we were visiting. We chose this restaurant based on some research, and its location--close to where we were staying. It was tasty and appealed to one who generally likes most food and one person who is very picky. We were really pleased with the experience.
Both my friend and I had not been to the restaurant, and both of us were very pleasantly surprised. It was a great find. Quiet, great food, good drinks, and the service was amazing! Would definitely recommend.
The food and environment were great! Amazing views! Very polite wait-staff!
The food was amazing and well balanced. Tom our server was very accommodating and provided me an alternative desert option due to allergies for Chicago Restaurant Week. The squid ink noodles, and scallop was my favorite and their tangerine sherbet is amazing! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Arrived on time for reservation. Hostesses were not welcoming and told us 10 min wait and asked us to sit by the couches. 45 min later no one had come by. My husband had to go ask them when we could be seated and then they sat us without any apology. Our server was excellent and the food was great, but the hostess left a poor taste in our mouth for the overall experience.
I was surprised- perhaps my expectations were too high, but food was a disappointment, though service was excellent. Amuse Bouche was delightful, and good wine selection, but Scallops were fishy, beet starter was undercooked , and even the jalapeño Mac & cheese seemed underwhelming, while our ‘light’ pasta with ricotta was as heavy as the Mac & cheese.
Saving grace was the bone marrow - that was excellent.
Definitely worth a stop for a drink, but won’t dine again.
Baptiste and bottle combines gastronomy and effortless luxury in a beautiful setting. The details matter and they attend to all of them including an excellent drink menu.
Well done! Fan for Life!
Nice vibe. Great food..comfortable and friendly.
I have been there several times and it is always great!
After hearing an ad on NPR a few months back and reading a few reviews, decided dinner at B and B was worthy of a Christmas present for my husband. He enjoys whiskey, a good steak, and comfortable atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The wait staff gave us time to enjoy each course. The view was grand. My scallops were some of the best I've had; this is my usual choice for a nice dinner out. Have had many a fine plate of scallops on each coast and in between; yours were superb. The ox tail and marrow app was everything reviews raved about.
We will most definitely return with family members knowing that their experience will be consistent to our first time, looking down on Michigan Ave. coupled with truly good food.
Great restaurant and staff was just really excellant
This is our favorite spot for drinks and appetizers but we decided to stay for dinner. The service was exceptional and our server Connor knew the menu in detail and provided great recommendations.
Great place, but not quite right for a family occasion--the food menu was just a little small, the portions were just a little small. Overall qualifies as a "fancy" restaurant but felt it didn't justify the price.
