No ambience whatsoever used to be office space still feels like it
Now it’s a Conrad hotel but I thinks it’s a Sad hotel no one cares who works on the property
Awful service waiter had no personality he was basically a rude dud
Food very average at best
Smoke filled restaurant
Had to stand up to see view
Waste of time
Lots of competition in restaurants in Chicago they obviously don’t care about anything
Great birthday celebration spot! Wait staff was excellent and food was delicious.
Our waitress was the only downside to the experience wasn’t attentive. But I have been there before and the service was amazing
It took a while for us to get seated even though we had a reservation and it wasn’t t busy at all. Once the four of us were seated it took another 10mins for a server to come over. Also the server, younes, wasn’t great at all. Many times we went without water or champagne to drink. Would try it again and if the service is that bad I will probably not come back. Other than service issues, EVERYTHING else was fantastic.
We stopped at Baptiste & Bottle twice over two days, once for drink at the bar and the other time for brunch. The drinks were unique and delicious. The bartenders were friendly and made you feel welcomed. Brunch was good however, while the service was fast our waitress wasn't attentive. Never introduced herself, just walked right up to our table and asked for our order. The only time she came back to the table was to bring the check, and even then she didn't offer us more coffee or water. We wanted to order brunch drinks (Mimosas and Bloody Marys), but since she brought the check we figured it was time go.
I would go back for drinks, but not sure I will be back for a meal.
Wonderful dining experience. The tequila drink (La Mentira) and was fantastic! I had the scallops. They were some of the best cooked scallops I’ve had in a very, very long time. My mom had the pork dish, which I tried and was delicious as well. Our service was fantastic. Would highly recommend coming here.
Wasn’t sure what to expect. Restaurant had an interesting name, great service, and lovey view of Michigan Ave. It’s on the 20th floor of the Conrad and ultimately was just a nice restaurant in hotel.
Great bar program. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff
Wonderful NYE dinner. As always food and drinks were amazing. B&B is my family’s favorite occasion place. Ask for Connor
We visited the restaurant on New Years Eve and ordered from the New Years Eve Prix Fixe menu. The Cauliflower Soup was amazing. So light and airy. The Venison was cooked to perfection. A very enjoyable evening.
New Year’s Eve disappointment. Prefix meal tried
too hard to be something special. Too many flavors competing with each other in each course. The waiter did not
recommend getting the broccoli steak which was ordered and ended up
being the best dish we had. Scallops were rubbery texture (previously frozen?) Chef needs to refine menu - expected better for New Year’s Eve.
It may have just been an off day for the restaurant, but I apologized to my friends for bringing them there. The setting itself is very nice; good views of the city from the 20th floor and comfortable, reasonably spaced seating. Our biggest problem came on the service front. There were only 2 other groups in the restaurant when we were there yet the waitress took a very long time to see us and rarely checked in; she was also unaware of the menu (did not know if they had any specials, did not know much about the dishes we order). Our drinks were also very delayed and were later informed that was because the bartender had left to pick up produce for the day. Additionally, our food came out in odd timing (one person's entire meal came out before others received soup) and missed the mark in general (quality/taste was not on point and they did not make requested substitutions).
Horrible place. Doesn’t matter if you have a reservation, you’ll still have to wait at least 20-30 more minutes. Hostess m.i.a, waitstaff rude, and by the time we were seated, they told us they were no longer serving breakfast. just the worst experience. So we left. Would not recommend
Admittedly, the team had a bad day with too few staff. But great job by the shift supervisor...she took care of us.
The food was phenomenal. The service was so-so. The waitress seemed less than thrilled to be there. The lights were also a bit bright for the lovely space.
Baptiste and Bottle we enjoyed but the service was very slow it was like they needed more wait staff.
Good food and views but indifferent service
The food was amazing, but the only think we did not like is that we had to wait about 45 mins for our food. We went on Christmas Day, and we later found out that half of the kitchen staff called off from work. What a bummer. I was offer free drinks on my next visit, that was cool.
We were there on a slow night service was very good. The food was a bit hit or miss. Most things were good, the cocktails were very good.
Overpriced. The main dishes and desserts were uniformly mediocre, and many items on the menu were unavailable.
We love this place. Always a great spot to bring friends as the drink service is amazing. Great food and top shelf service every time.
The food was ok. When I ordered french toast with fruit, I expected berries or something but it was weird because it came with baked apples. It was not that cheap and I just got 1 piece of toast. The view was good, but other than that, nothing special here
The food left much to desired; it lacked flavor. The ambiance and service were wonderful.
Service was adequate. Food just ok. Told us liquor wasn’t allowed to be served til 11am on Sunday but would bend the rules and then made terrible bloody marys
Wow. We hadn't heard of Baptiste & Bottle but wanted to try a new restaurant with our $100 reward from Open Table and we hit a home run, picking Baptiste & Bottle.
Our server Tom was easily one of the best we have had in years. He clearly likes his work and was enthusiastic about what Baptiste & Bottle had to offer. Very attentive but not pushy or over bearing. We'll definitely seek him out on our next visit. Yes there will be a next visit and more.
Enjoyed a great cocktail - we opted for Manhattan's, with their house made bread before we started a great foodie adventure.
The food was OUTSTANDING and had incredible flavors. We noshed on he Roasted Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Mac and Cheese, Crispy Mushroom Spaetzle and Housemade Ricotta Cavatelli (handmade BTW).
We sere so impressed we asked our server Tom if he could ask the Chef to come to our table, which he was all to happy to do. Emilio, the Chef, was exactly what we had expected in a Chef that created such wonderful food. He was enthusiastic, answered a few questions (we didn't ask for recipes) and appreciated the acknowledgement that his kitchen was at the top of their game.
Baptiste & Bottle is a restaurant you should not miss - except when we want to go again!
Great view of Michigan Ave. while enjoying great cocktails and a fabulous meal. We had a very unique, appetizer: Crispy Spaetzle which we would order again. Very much enjoyed the bison and scallops. We will be back!
Nice views (20th fl) and happy hour prices for drinks
Took 45 minutes to get food with two hungry toddlers despite ordering their meals prior to ordering drinks
I highly recommend this place. Awesome menu, the best Old Fashioned I've ever had, amazing view. Perfect.
The atmosphere was a bit too quiet. No music. The cocktails and appetizers were good and our waitress was attentive but it lacked fun vibe.
We loved our experience! Our server was wonderful and recommended new options for us to try. The food was exceptional and the portions were the perfect size. We will definitely be back!
Thanksgiving buffet was a huge disappointment. All of the food was very bland and poor quality, the only flavor came from over-salting. The turkey was horribly dry and tasteless. The best thing on the menu was the venison roast; the server (who was very attentive and kind) recommended it and, indeed, it was the only thing worth eating. The buffet setup was also not very sanitary -- there were serving utensil handles lying directly in the food on several dishes. Even the dessert bar was terrible! Who screws up a dessert bar? The pastries were like something out of a grocery store bakery and everything tasted day-old (stale, dry). This was on the pricier end of downtown-area Thanksgiving dinner options and I would not recommend it.
This is fine for drinks but was underwhelmed with the food. Several dishes were out of stock with excuses they were working a new menu. Given most of the menu dishes seemed more for the spring (cold asparagus soup, spring onions and peas), November menu updates are late. I’d recommend for drinks only.
We waited at least 15 minutes before being approached by wait staff. There was some confusion regarding who would be our waiter/waitress. Once that was resolved, the service was much better. We received a sincere apology (good experience). The food was very good. Absent the rough start it was an overall good dining experience.
My girlfriend and I brought family (visiting from out of town) in for brunch. We’ve eaten brunch here many times, typically enjoying the bottomless bar and great views of Michigan Ave. This time around our experience was pretty awful. Our food took FOREVER to come out and not once did our server update us on what was going on. The menu updates somewhat simplified the food and should not have led to such a long wait time. We never received our aide of bacon either which is a very simple thing to get out. Plus the bacon was no longer available at the bloody bar, what’s up with that?! Our server was nice enough to pour us extra champagne and offered to still bring the bacon out for waiting but that didn’t improve the overall experience. I’m sorry to say it but I don’t think we’ll be back or recommending this place.
Hostess has no hosting abilities at all, there was no rush to get us seated when the place was practically empty. We were finally seated 20 min after our reservation. The mimosa and bloody bar were fantastic would highly recommend! The food was okay, pretty hyped up menu for an okay tasting meal.
Baptiste and Bottle has a great location especially on the eve of the Festival of Lights. The layout has a fun city vibe and the potential for sophistication. Two things though that made it tough for us: the chairs and the saltiness of the food. The chair’s material caused me to slip and slide out of it; I spent the night trying to hook the heels of my boots into the chair’s legs and/or the table’s legs to stay atop of the seat. The food we ordered was heavily salted. I spent so much time drinking water with our meal that I struggled to drink my specialty drink.
We wanted to try something different when we went and we did. I don’t know that we will return.
Tasty menu, delicious drinks!
Food tastes great, serve is disappointing. The server literarly ignored us everytime we needed him - taking our orders, serving food, and getting the check. We didn't feel welcome here. Probably not gonna come back even we really enjoyed the food here. Many other restaurants with delicious brunch also have warm and friendly attitudes.
