BaoziInn - Romilly Street
Baozilnn -人民公社, meaning “people’s canteen” has been brought to you by Barshu group, which, twelve years ago, caused a sensation on the London restaurant scene by opening Barshu Restaurant.
It's nice enough. A little pricey once you've ordered 2 or 3 dishes each + drinks. The Dan Dan noodles were lovely, though!
Excellent food as always. Service was split between excellent & then being quite terse depending on staff member. It was a Saturday lunchtime so busy but will definitely go back
WHERE IS OUR FOOD!!!
The restaurant started well and we had 3 of our 6 dishes served to us in 10 minutes or so.
The pork skewers were some of the best pork we’ve had, delicious!
That was the end of anything good after that! We had NO service after that and you could not find a table waiter!
They were happy trying to cram in more dinners off the street, but forgot about their current diners in the restaurant!
After waiting 40 minutes with NO service and no more food (the other 3 dishes we ordered plus water),we finally flagged down a front desk lady and asked for the bill.
Of course the bill comes charging us for the 3 dishes that never arrived! We finally sort out the bill, without the 3 missing dishes and guess what? No offer of discount, no offer to rush the missing dishes to our table, no apology apart from a muffled “sorry” after we paid and with his back to us!!!
What a disappointment, as the food that we did taste was excellent, but unfortunately this was overshadowed by lack of service and definitely no customer satisfaction!!
Never to return!
Most interesting dim sum in London these days, at a price.
Waiters need to be a little more observant when a customer need to catch their attention. Dandan noodles was dissatisfactory, too much lime juice in it.
Crap service but great food
Took us 20 minutes of sitting down stairs until someone took our drinks order. People walking past but not paying us any attention
I don't like being stuck in the back room, which has no windows and is much more claustrophobic. Otherwise a good meal - the waiter did get 3 dishes wrong but we ate them anyway. Luckily for us we are regulars. Please note, next time seat us in a good table with a window!
Birthday overall good
We were very impressed with this restaurant.
I love love love what it is all about.
Had a great dinner here on Friday night. The recommendations from out waiter were excellent, just the right amount of food and absolutely delicious!
This was my first time and I was really impressed, the food was excellent, the staff were friendly and the service absolutely fine. Highly recommended, but don't go if you're looking for crispy duck and that kind of chinese food, this is much more regional.
Cute place. Great service. Delicious food. No complaints!
Great dim sum. Go mid day. Good service.
Not really the best place. Staff is not very welcoming, and the food is reasonably good. The ambience it’s quite strange because of the way the tables are arranged.
Food had interesting colours, but taste wise there was little that stood out as being particularly authentic or memorable. In a sense, it felt quite gimmicky. We were given a table and a bench, and therefore had to sit in a row rather than facing each other. The tea was decent, but once again, nothing special. Service was generally prompt and good.
We were put in the room one level down, which is not a particularly nice space - it basically feels like a bare corridor. The only good thing about the location was that waiters were constantly walking by, so we could ask them for things that we already asked for but didn't bring. Food was variable - some very nice dishes, but other disappointing ones - for example there is only one savoury vegetarian dumpling dish on the menu, which was rather dull. Don't go if you are a vegetarian. The prawn dumplings were very nice. The chilli seabass is good if you are happy with LOTS of spice. Don't order the merlot.
Amazing food and lots of choice. Definitely recommend.
Service poor I phones were more important than us . Poor wine recommendation . Had to ask all the time for the basic services .
All good and enjoyed by my daughters and myself. Lovely food and well worth a visit.
Very tasty food: a mix of dumpling and main larger dishes. Lot of Szechuan flavours, but also enough non-spicy options to cater for a wider audience.
Overall a positive experience. The back room lacks ambiance so try and get a table in the street facing ones.
Nice ambience and decor, and much quieter and cleaner than China Town. The menu has different types of Chinese food than the standard and delicious dim sum. We really liked their prawn brioche (posh version of prawn toast) . prawn and chive steamed dim sum, and the steamed mapo tofu. The szechuan dishes really had a kick of chili! Service was friendly and efficient except when we wanted to pay the bill and had to try hard to get their attention. Would definitely recommend it and go again
Delicious food, friendly servers and reasonable prices. Will be back!
Delicious food, really enjoyed it. Flavours were very unique
Great food, service in a fun neighborhood
I would definitely return on my next trip to London
Lovely food, well priced! The service and atmosphere was perfect for a late afternoon dinner before the theatre.
I booked this place on the spur of the moment for me and my husband. We were seated on a cute table for two (sitting side by side) in a small room, there were about 4 other parties in there and the atmosphere was chatty and friendly but not too noisy.
The staff were nice - we weren’t sure how much of everything to order but the waiter said we could just order more things as we went along - which the couple opposite us were doing.
We had a hot, sour soup with some dumplings in which was AMAZING, followed by the mixed meat skewers which were really tasty.
I don’t think they do puddings but we were really full so didn’t want one.
We’d definitely go again, and try more dim sum in future.
Beautiful dim sum!!!
Very good food and service. Unfortunately there were no desserts!
Una cucina semplice ma curata, con una scelta veramente ampia di ravioli, wanton e specialità cinesi a prezzi onesti. Ottima scelta se vi trovate a soho!
Nice vibe and service. Some of the dim sum was a bit dissapointing - now style over flavour but we had a stand sea bass dish that cess delicious.
Everything was delicious. Will definitely try again !
Unauthentic food, trying to westernize classic dishes and doing that not well. Service was also not the greatest. Better to go to more authentic places around which are better and cheaper.
Great service, great food and good value. The Dim Sum are amazing.
Delicious food, quick service and good atmosphere. Came here after the theatre after reading good things about Baozilnn. I am so glad we went here. A must!
The worst Chinese I have ever had. The sirloin skewer was beige you couldn’t even tell what it was. Certainly not red meat. It tasted absolute horrible. We both had terrible stomach problems afterwards. The place looks dirty. Never again. We eat Chinese all the time and normally love it!
Love going to the place as the food is wonderful, This time I didn’t enjoy to much, the food was wonderful as normal but the music was so loud, we did ask for it to be turned down which they did but it kept creeping back up again. We struggled to talk to each other. Perhaps we are getting old. Also they seated us literally against a window albeit with a cushion which made it uncomfortable and cold. Service was poor and we had to flag people down to order. Last time we went late after a show and it was great so perhaps that was the time to go.
Had a great pre theatre meal. Dim sum was excellent- some with a nice spice to it. We enjoyed some dishes so much that we ordered a second round. Service was friendly and the whole meal was excellent value.
Delicious delicious delicious. I recommend it all. Lol.
Poor food and terrible value. Ambience awful and music was so loud and pop charty
Mother’s Day. Me and my wife ordered so much food and so much drinks and the bill was so cheap for the quality of food we had. Best dim sum in London
