We happened to be seated next to a noisy party of 6 but that’s not your fault
Dinner prior to a concert. Clam chowder is excellent .
We were a bit disappointed in Bannings Tavern. The service was good and people were friendly but they were out of some food and what we got wasnt great. Plus we were there to celebrate a birthday which I mentioned when I made the reservation but nothing was said and they only had one dessert.
Such a nice atmosphere. Beer selection pretty decent and my burger was perfect. Overall a great experience. Server was very attentive as was the bar staff. (We were a tad early for our reservation so had a cocktail while waiting)
Excellent bar menu. Shepherds pie, beef and guiness stew and burgers are all the very best anywhere. They entrees like shrimp and grits, fish, steak, chicken and lamb are all house recipes. Very friendly help. The wine list could use some work but it is well priced so there is that. The clam chowder is legendary here. The salads cold and crisp. All in all one of Easton’s very best and Easton is a real foodie town.
The tavern has lots of atmosphere, the servers are great and the food is pretty good
Great place! Wonderful food! Loved the Valentine day menu!
Dependable bar food. Great fried oysters in season, terrific burgers. Dozens of beers to choose from. Can be a little noisey but always a convivial crowd.
The food and atmosphere were dismal on a Friday evening. Had been once before and it was decent; not sure why it took such a nose dive but the foot was almost inedible!
Thank for making lunch, Bannings. Always a good meal!
My son and his family were here and I took them to Bannings for dinner. We all had a wonderful time and a great meal.
I found Banning's via the OpenTable site and was pleased to have found it. I took an old friend and Banning's bar area was the perfect setting to catch up. The atmosphere was conducive to a nice conversation, and the service was very good and not overly intrusive.
I had the Chicken Pot Pie and my friend enjoyed the Shepherd's Pie. Both were ideal for a cold winter night.
I'll definitely recommend Banning's Tavern.
Apon arrival the owner was being cussed out by a man outside the restaurant. We had a 6pm reservation that took the hostess assistance by another lady to locate. Then we were seated at a tiny two person table that was inches away from another table that was occupied while 3 other 2 seater tables were available. The bar was so crowded and loud and just a few feet from the dinning room. Very hard to conversate with my husband. We spent $30 dollars on a steak that did not include any sides and it was 30% meat and 70% fat. Not worth the money whatsoever. We also ordered a piece of cheesecake to go and it was tiny and insignificant for the price. Complete disappointment and horrible date night experience.
Our order was messed up twice, but since it was new years eve and the weather was bad we didn’t say anything. The cheese plate could use better cheese but overall the food is good for a fancy pub at the price point.
Petite filet! Always a favorite! Perfectly prepared temperature wise.
And the Manhattans were a real treat!
Always a reliable and delicious choice! The new items on the menu and the new faces are a great addition to the experience.
It was my daughters 16th Birthday, which was part of the reservation, there was no acknowledgement by the restaurant.
We have been here a few times over the past years. Each time the service and food have gone down hill. Nice place but probably won’t go back
Met a friend for lunch. A classy bar setting. Service was very good, attentive but unintrusive. We were not rushed. The food was good. A pleasant experience and we would go again.
Went to show at Avalon, had a good meal at Bannings. Good food, good price. Enjoyed!
Pre show dinner at Avalon Theatre
Nice night out. They are a good place for varying tastes. Everything from chicken pot pie to seared tuna to burgers. Great on tap beer selection and very good wine selection. Service was a bit slow taking our order, but fine otherwise.
Nice food and an enjoyable bar ambience.
We picked Bannings for our Thanksgiving eve family dinner. Everyone was pleased with the freshness and quality of the food. The service was gracious and we love the the lively neighborhood atmosphere. It's where the people meet for good times. Our guests were impressed. Being a vegetarian with a gluten free spouse they are always willing to make adjustments to their offerings without hesitation. Local farm to table is also high on our list. I hope they will continue to expand the menu to include more creative vegetarian and vegan dishes. Prices are excellent considering the overall experience.
My husband and I were in Easton for Thanksgiving and decided to dine at Bannings Tavern. We had a glass of wine at the bar before dinner and the bartender was not very friendly. The hostess wanted to seat us at a small table when there were booths opened. We asked to sit at a booth and she was not at all happy with us. However, our server was very friendly and made up for the negative vibes we received from the bartender and hostess. Not sure I would return to this restaurant on our next visit to Easton!
Food was good value - kitchen was a bit slow which was fine as we weren’t in a hurry and we were a party of 8. Staff was friendly. We felt that some items were better than others - liked the Shepard’s pie & burgers. Soup and salad were just ok.
A really special local favorite with a great menu. Looking forward to our next visit.
It's just "okay". Online menu isn't what they are actually serving and disappointing that oysters weren't on the menu. Server was inattentive - "I had some things to take care of". Used to be a better option.
We often stop in Easton for lunch en route to visit relatives on the Eastern Shore, and we usually dine at Bannings Tavern. This time, the kitchen seemed a little off - all of our burgers were a little over-cooked, and even the grilled cheese we ordered was burned. Maybe there's been a change of kitchen staff? Otherwise, everything was great - we love the neighborhood-hangout feel of the restaurant.
Our scallops were only Luke warm. Minimal black bean and tomato.
Our waitress appeared very stressed and distracted. Asked for more bread and never got it.
Our order was not taken for an hour. 90 min until food served.
A bit disappointed for Bannings.
Had a delicious dinner with my wife. I had the petite filet and my wife had the prime rib which were both cooked exactly as ordered. We are local and often dine at Bannings. Always excellent service and a warm welcoming atmosphere.
Great service and a variety of entres we both had fish plates and both were fresh.
Went 10/26/2018 to celebrate a birthday. I had the house burger (solid), fries (very good). Another guest had the large filet ("delicious") and the birthday celebrant had a rack of lamb (she sucked the bones it was so good). Drinks were also good. A bit pricey but not over the top. Very good.
We had a reservation for 4. Nice booth and seated quickly. All went downhill from there. Waitress was inattentive and service very slow. Many things on menu not available. My wife had prime rib that was not hot (room temp at best). Will not go back.
Great food. Great hospitality. The Guinness is top of the line. The Rock Fish with coucous is delicious as well as the braised short ribs. Clam chowder and crab cakes are excellent. Outdoor seating is great for meeting the local residents. Don't miss this opportunity for an enjoyable evening.
Very friendly and popular gathering spot in town. Excellent food from local sources prepared perfectly. Try it and you will love it.
Food and drinks were excellent!
Best filet mignon in the area. Fresh fish. Great soups Attentive, happy wait staff!
