You need reservations here and you need to book far in advance for game nights/concert nights or a night, like last night, when the Pats are playing. Also, if you reserve a table get there well before game time, because if you have a reserved table the location and quality of table goes down as the event approaches. Basically, first come, first served.
I can only speak to apps but the wings and especially the pretzels are really good. Service was excellent as well.
Shout out to Marco, one of the managers. He worked with me when I was i initially unhappy with the “reserved” table they offered me.
Best advice I can give, get there earlier than your reservation or reserve your table an hour before the actual event and be there on time or earlier.
Excellent pre game meal spot. Had reservations for 5pm and got a text at 4:45 that our table was ready. Didn’t have to wait. Olivia W our waitress was fantastic and for being such a busy place, we got our drinks, appetizer, and meals in a timely manner. Super fun place and would highly recommend.
Great place to watch a game. Like being in. Vegas sports book from a TV perspective. And, not only is the food super overpriced, it also sucks. Very disappointing considering the place could be completely awesome. Gotta get the food right folks….
Waitress came over only twice. Said the bar is backed up. Minimal food service/menu options on game day. Fabulous atmosphere but unremarkable food and drink.
We have had the same server the last two times and he was great, very nice always making sure we had what we needed
We visited Banners out of convenience and probably won’t again. They didn’t have the staffing to attend to all the tables, which I understand is happening everywhere, but they shouldn’t seat that many patrons then. Absolutely everything we ordered was cold, the pretzels, burgers, hot dog and it took forever. Our waiter was way too soft spoken for such a loud environment and for having to wear a mask. If they couldn’t handle a crowd for a kids show, I’m not sure how they manage a sporting event.
service was poor, understaffed, took a long time to get food
Great place to come watch the game. Service was a little slow but that's pretty common as most places are short staffed. That being said, our server was great and very welcoming.
Had a waiter try to fight us! Came up with attitude from the start and proceeded to get hostile and more rude as we talked to him. I asked for a Blue Moon and he said he didn't know what that was. I said I it is a hefeweizen beer and he said "for the second time, don't ask me for something I don't know about". So I let that go and just asked for a Miller Lite, which luckily the little waiter knew about. When he told my client that he wanted him to go outside, I spoke to the 2 managers who didn't apologize for him or his behavior. While we were talking, the waiter was yelling throughout the restaurant that he would see us later to fight us. Again, the managers did nothing. Finally, after they saw his behavior again, they said they would buy us a drink and get a different waiter. I told them we appreciate the offer but we didn't come in for free drinks and we would happily pay for our drinks if he would get us someone else to serve us. We went back to our table and sat down and waited. No one came to help us in 10 minutes! The manager and the waiter were laughing over in the corner as we sat there. So we decided to leave and as we were walking out, the waiter(his name was T or Chris) starred down one of the girls with us and told her to "suck his ". Good thing I didn't hear that! I've been in the service industry for 10 years and have never experienced such bad service and attitude from restaurant staff. Unfortunately, we will never go back to Banner's Taproom.
Service was VERY slow. Server had a bit of an attitude but finished fine. Food was good but took way too long.
Had a reservation for 5:15 pm before a concert. The place was not busy at all. Sat down - party of 4 - at the tiniest booth I have ever sat in. So uncomfortable. We would have overlooked this since I requested a booth, but no server showed up at all! We were sitting for probably almost 15 minutes and no one even came to greet us let alone take a beverage order. Needless to say we left. Bad experience.
My husband’s Birthday on Saturday we were going to the Bruins game but before we wanted to go to Banners, we’ve tried many other time to get in and it was always booked or crowded, we finally got in and it was great, our server was awesome, food was fast and very good.
Great place to watch a game and have a drink
Food was great! However we had a really odd encounter with the hostess. We arrived for an early dinner at 4:35. We said we did not have a reservation and were told it was about an hour wait unless we wanted to sit along the rail/hightop. We did take those seats but the chairs were far too low to eat comfortably. In reviewing the menu on the phone there was a place to make reservations so I was able to make a reservation for 4:45 and then I walked back to the hostess station and our party was seated at a table in the main restaurant. Really not cool that they told us an hour wait for a table and let us sit at really uncomfortable seats when clearly we could have been seated right from the get go
Definitely a pub environment! Not much variety of food! On the expensive side!
The service was horrible. I'm not sure if the waiters were short staffed but it took a while before we were asked if we wanted water. Even after that it took at least 15 minutes to get said water. It took a while to get our food as well. We weren't the only table experiencing this. All the tables around us were complaining about not getting good service, only some orders were coming out, etc. I expected more.
We waited over 20 minutes before the server came over to take our orders. She came back after a long time with only one drink because she forgot what the other drink was. Our food orders both came out completely not what we ordered. Finally my friend's turkey burger arrived but it had fries instead of a side salad. We took it anyways because we were so hungry. They came out 2 more times with a salmon salad for me when I had ordered a veggie burger. After an hour of this game they finally brought our both of our burgers with side salads. We gave the extra turkey burger to the guy sitting at the next table who had been there as long as us and still hadn't received his chicken wings. We were never offered a drink refill and it took her 3 tries to get us the correct bill. I finally gave up and paid the wrong one because I didn't want to miss tip off.
We regularly go to Banners before events at the Garden. The food is always good and the service (up until last night) matched. Even when they were short handed, it was still good.
Last night our server was relatively new and completely out of their depth. Most new servers make up for inexperience with effort. So even if they make mistakes, you know they are trying.
This server was lost and didn't seem to be making an effort and would disappear totally for extended periods of time. Luckily Banners has dedicated people to bring out meals and clear tables or we would have never eaten. As it was we we partially through our dinner when our drink order finally arrived. We had to ask one of the runners for our bill that the floor manager needed to bring.
We will go back but with some concern over who they are hiring and how they are training.
The service was excellent, for as busy at it was the food came out quickly but also warm and tasty.
Great place for lunch, kids love it but kids menu really basic nothing different.
Banners is a great place before an event at the Garden. It can be busy, crowded and loud but you aren't coming here for a quiet meal. The vibe is great. The food is really good. Like most places, they need more wait staff - our waiter was stretched very thin, but did a really good job despite having to cover too many tables.
I recommend the bacon and the guacamole.
Service was slow but understandable at this time. Limited menu, kind a pricey. THe best thing we had was the Churo doughnuts they were amazing. Gone once but sorry I wouldn't go again.
This is a great place to go before an event or a game in the TD Garden. Make sure to make a reservation.
Super fun atmosphere, great food, excellent service. Hottest wings!
Food was good. Beer is unfathomably expensive. Not sure if they recently raised prices but one beer costs the same price as a burger across the street at tavern
Had a great time at banners last good was good drinks were great my server was wonderful really enjoyed the conversation we had with each other
It was excellent thank you for making the date even more romantic
This is 1st time I’ve been here since the pandemic. Our server was Kristen and she was fantastic. We were seated right away and she was friendly and very accommodating throughout our dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant and ask for Kristen to be your server!
I'd eaten at Banners before and had a really good experience, so I was excited to bring my son to this interesting Sports Bar with all its large screen TVs. Last night's experience was awful, starting with being seated near a large, loud family gathering with children who were running around crawling on nearby tables.
Then, the wait began for any type of Banners-related employee to take an order, make a suggestion or acknowledge our presence. I get it, it's post-COVID and restaurants are struggling, but it was not busy. My son and I made allowances for maybe not enough staff and people just being tired, but this was beyond reasonable even for reasonable people.
The beers came pretty quick after the 25 minutes it took to order. The Caesar salads were awful with dried out chicken. Again, another long wait to be noticed. Not interested in desserts or more drinks, but a cup of coffee? Sorry, we don't have coffee.
And, then another wait for the bill. And, then having to ask the Manager to take our credit card. He gave it to the waitress and another unusual wait.
Maybe just a bad night for Banners but I'll be avoiding this place and suggest you do as well.
A really great place to grab some food, drinks, and watch some sports! Would definitely recommend it, their burgers were great.
Our server took our drink orders in a decent clip. After that, we didn't see him for an uncomfortably long spell. It was after the dinner rush, so perhaps he was using that time as a breather. However, we went at that time to avoid the crowd and be in and out. It didn't serve that purpose. It was overpriced, lackluster service with food that was ok, but didn't make a positive lasting impression.
Great place to eat. Everything we orders came out timely and perfect.
This was our first time here. Two of us were vegetarians and two not. Service was great. Asked when we sat down if the water was filtered. The server said it was.. it was warm and tasted so poorly it clearly isn’t being filtered through a clean filter. The food was fair. Clearly a frozen beyond burger not made in house with ground beyond meat. One of us got grilled chicken on a salad and the other got a burger I believe. Nothing to write home about. Not a place for foodies but a decent place/ atmosphere to hang out I’m sure before a game and have a beer!
Our waiter was horrible!! Very inattentive. Not a pleasant experience.
This was our first visit, we saw this place on Phantom Gourmet and had to try it. We took our three girls for their birthdays, due to Covid they were still on a limited menu, we got nachos… AMAZING! Kids got chicken nugget meals, it was fresh fried chicken, delicious. Cheeseburger and fiancé got the pork chop special, they told us they cook it fresh so his would be about 25 mins, came out and he said it was one of the best he’s ever had from a restaurant. The waiter brought us over the churro donuts and put 3 candles in and sang happy birthday, he was amazing, all the staff was! Will definitely be going back again!!
Thank you for a great lunch.
Great place to watch the Bruins playoff game. Food was good. Unfortunately service stunk. Our server Colin seemed very busy and overworked, but never apologized for the wait. He walked by us multiple times and avoided eye contact. When I asked a question he wouldn’t respond yes or no to me, so I never knew if he heard me or not. Totally understand if you’re understaffed and busy, but just acknowledge that.
Server was not helpful in making drink or food decisions and food was meh - very bland, pretty dry and overall average at best. TVs were great and the whole environment is nice
Had a terrible experience at Banners at 2PM on a Saturday. We were seated and it took 10 minutes for the waiter to greet us. Once he finally came over he took our beverage and appetizer order.
The food came in a timely matter. He then took our food order. That was the last time I saw our waiter. The waiter disappeared for about an hour. We were trying to get more drinks and couldn’t find the waiter.
All of the staff (including the managers) were all on their phones.
At this point I was so aggravated I asked someone to get us our bill so we could leave.
I complained to the “managers” on our way out.
