Unfortunately we arrived on time for our reservation (just 2 of us)... they placed us at a table AWAY from all the excitement, we were going to a Bruins game. I asked to place us at a different table which I could see there was PLENTY on the 1st floor where bar is and obviously the "happenings" and the vive as to why we chose this place. Instead we were placed on the 2nd floor which was ok, we could see all the TV's, our waiter was HORRIBLE, no personality. he told us to scan the menu with our phones which was fine we are quite used to that. I proceed to order a drink CLEARLY on the menu and he told me it wasn't available, he could only give me wine or beer on that floor, 20 (no joke) goes by I flag him down ask if I can go downstairs order myself from the bar and bring it up and his response-yes... NOW why wouldn't he offer that the 1st time, another 15 min goes by we flag down someone else if we could order he asked us who our waiter was so he could get "credit"... he deserves NO credit in fact he barely deserves a tip-and look we try to OVERTIP in the times we are in but this guy was horrible and the table next to us also complaining but I might add she was able to get drinks other than beer or wine so.....
Lunch before the Bruins game
Great place to watch a game. Overpriced food. Good service.
We ordered a cocktail, appetizers and main courses. One cocktail arrived followed by two main courses, followed by one appetizer. We had to reorder my wife's cocktail and appetizer. At least twice servers tried to drop food on our table intended for other tables. Finally her drink and appetizer appeared. Our request for water took 20 mins. Really poor. Noise was cacophonous, but it is to be expected at a sports bar.
Usually love this place b4 a Cs game, but food was mediocre. Burgers were dry even order med-rare. Was supposed to get ticket validated and it wasn't successful. will likely still go back back bc it's convenient.
Either the restaurant was very understaffed (likely), or the particular waitstaff we had at our table was overwhelmed or not suited to working in a busy restaurant. We were at the table over 15 minutes before being greeted for the first time and then the server rarely came back to check on us, get more drinks or take a food order. Finally a manager came over to clear some plates and ask if we needed anything else but overall it was a flop. The food was bland and expensive and not what I would consider at all 'worth it' for the time it took.
It is a must do if going to the Garden for sure. Great big room. Tables are just ridiculously too close, especially if you are on a date etc. Service was slow, but understandably, not the servers fault. I would highly recommend.
Food was fantastic and service was great.. make a res to be sure to get a table on game days
Overall a decent meal. Mashed potatoes lacked flavor and we weren’t crazy about the marinade on the steak tips, but it wasn’t bad and we ate it all. Out Waitress was very accommodating to our specific requests with substitutions avoiding certain food groups and dislikes. Ice cream was great and the donuts seemed to be a bit underdone unless churro donuts are meant to be slightly wet inside and eggy? We weren’t sure. The convenience of TD Garden next store was the reason we reserved here and we would go back.
Great spot to watch the Pats game. Really nice inside, great interior, modern but still welcoming. Will be back for sure!
Great place to grab a meal before we headed in for a Bruins game. Banners Burger was good and the churros were a great choice for desert.
If you don’t have a reservation on a game day, don’t expect to get a table. Also, if you get a table along the standing room only bar area, you will have people hovering over your table while you eat. There should be more separation from the tables to the bar area.
Great service and food. Love going before a Bruins game - never a worry about slow service getting you out late! Delicious food no matter what you order -fish, burgers appetizers all great!
You need reservations here and you need to book far in advance for game nights/concert nights or a night, like last night, when the Pats are playing. Also, if you reserve a table get there well before game time, because if you have a reserved table the location and quality of table goes down as the event approaches. Basically, first come, first served.
I can only speak to apps but the wings and especially the pretzels are really good. Service was excellent as well.
Shout out to Marco, one of the managers. He worked with me when I was i initially unhappy with the “reserved” table they offered me.
Best advice I can give, get there earlier than your reservation or reserve your table an hour before the actual event and be there on time or earlier.
Excellent pre game meal spot. Had reservations for 5pm and got a text at 4:45 that our table was ready. Didn’t have to wait. Olivia W our waitress was fantastic and for being such a busy place, we got our drinks, appetizer, and meals in a timely manner. Super fun place and would highly recommend.
Great place to watch a game. Like being in. Vegas sports book from a TV perspective. And, not only is the food super overpriced, it also sucks. Very disappointing considering the place could be completely awesome. Gotta get the food right folks….
Waitress came over only twice. Said the bar is backed up. Minimal food service/menu options on game day. Fabulous atmosphere but unremarkable food and drink.
We have had the same server the last two times and he was great, very nice always making sure we had what we needed
We visited Banners out of convenience and probably won’t again. They didn’t have the staffing to attend to all the tables, which I understand is happening everywhere, but they shouldn’t seat that many patrons then. Absolutely everything we ordered was cold, the pretzels, burgers, hot dog and it took forever. Our waiter was way too soft spoken for such a loud environment and for having to wear a mask. If they couldn’t handle a crowd for a kids show, I’m not sure how they manage a sporting event.
service was poor, understaffed, took a long time to get food
Great place to come watch the game. Service was a little slow but that's pretty common as most places are short staffed. That being said, our server was great and very welcoming.
Had a waiter try to fight us! Came up with attitude from the start and proceeded to get hostile and more rude as we talked to him. I asked for a Blue Moon and he said he didn't know what that was. I said I it is a hefeweizen beer and he said "for the second time, don't ask me for something I don't know about". So I let that go and just asked for a Miller Lite, which luckily the little waiter knew about. When he told my client that he wanted him to go outside, I spoke to the 2 managers who didn't apologize for him or his behavior. While we were talking, the waiter was yelling throughout the restaurant that he would see us later to fight us. Again, the managers did nothing. Finally, after they saw his behavior again, they said they would buy us a drink and get a different waiter. I told them we appreciate the offer but we didn't come in for free drinks and we would happily pay for our drinks if he would get us someone else to serve us. We went back to our table and sat down and waited. No one came to help us in 10 minutes! The manager and the waiter were laughing over in the corner as we sat there. So we decided to leave and as we were walking out, the waiter(his name was T or Chris) starred down one of the girls with us and told her to "suck his ". Good thing I didn't hear that! I've been in the service industry for 10 years and have never experienced such bad service and attitude from restaurant staff. Unfortunately, we will never go back to Banner's Taproom.
Service was VERY slow. Server had a bit of an attitude but finished fine. Food was good but took way too long.
Had a reservation for 5:15 pm before a concert. The place was not busy at all. Sat down - party of 4 - at the tiniest booth I have ever sat in. So uncomfortable. We would have overlooked this since I requested a booth, but no server showed up at all! We were sitting for probably almost 15 minutes and no one even came to greet us let alone take a beverage order. Needless to say we left. Bad experience.
My husband’s Birthday on Saturday we were going to the Bruins game but before we wanted to go to Banners, we’ve tried many other time to get in and it was always booked or crowded, we finally got in and it was great, our server was awesome, food was fast and very good.
Great place to watch a game and have a drink
Food was great! However we had a really odd encounter with the hostess. We arrived for an early dinner at 4:35. We said we did not have a reservation and were told it was about an hour wait unless we wanted to sit along the rail/hightop. We did take those seats but the chairs were far too low to eat comfortably. In reviewing the menu on the phone there was a place to make reservations so I was able to make a reservation for 4:45 and then I walked back to the hostess station and our party was seated at a table in the main restaurant. Really not cool that they told us an hour wait for a table and let us sit at really uncomfortable seats when clearly we could have been seated right from the get go
Definitely a pub environment! Not much variety of food! On the expensive side!
The service was horrible. I'm not sure if the waiters were short staffed but it took a while before we were asked if we wanted water. Even after that it took at least 15 minutes to get said water. It took a while to get our food as well. We weren't the only table experiencing this. All the tables around us were complaining about not getting good service, only some orders were coming out, etc. I expected more.
We waited over 20 minutes before the server came over to take our orders. She came back after a long time with only one drink because she forgot what the other drink was. Our food orders both came out completely not what we ordered. Finally my friend's turkey burger arrived but it had fries instead of a side salad. We took it anyways because we were so hungry. They came out 2 more times with a salmon salad for me when I had ordered a veggie burger. After an hour of this game they finally brought our both of our burgers with side salads. We gave the extra turkey burger to the guy sitting at the next table who had been there as long as us and still hadn't received his chicken wings. We were never offered a drink refill and it took her 3 tries to get us the correct bill. I finally gave up and paid the wrong one because I didn't want to miss tip off.
We regularly go to Banners before events at the Garden. The food is always good and the service (up until last night) matched. Even when they were short handed, it was still good.
Last night our server was relatively new and completely out of their depth. Most new servers make up for inexperience with effort. So even if they make mistakes, you know they are trying.
This server was lost and didn't seem to be making an effort and would disappear totally for extended periods of time. Luckily Banners has dedicated people to bring out meals and clear tables or we would have never eaten. As it was we we partially through our dinner when our drink order finally arrived. We had to ask one of the runners for our bill that the floor manager needed to bring.
We will go back but with some concern over who they are hiring and how they are training.
The service was excellent, for as busy at it was the food came out quickly but also warm and tasty.
Great place for lunch, kids love it but kids menu really basic nothing different.
Banners is a great place before an event at the Garden. It can be busy, crowded and loud but you aren't coming here for a quiet meal. The vibe is great. The food is really good. Like most places, they need more wait staff - our waiter was stretched very thin, but did a really good job despite having to cover too many tables.
I recommend the bacon and the guacamole.
Service was slow but understandable at this time. Limited menu, kind a pricey. THe best thing we had was the Churo doughnuts they were amazing. Gone once but sorry I wouldn't go again.
This is a great place to go before an event or a game in the TD Garden. Make sure to make a reservation.
