According to Jet Tila, celebrity chef and culinary ambassador to the US, the popularity of Thai food comes down to a balance of flavors between sour, sweet, rich, and savory. He stated that “There is a meeting point where I think most people could say this dish or cuisine is very crave able”.
The owner is a native Thai chef who gained her authentic experience through many years of hands-on local cooking in Thailand, followed by over 6 years working as a Thai chef in the Chicago area.

The food was delicious. The frying was so light & tasty. I ordered the Pineapple stir-fry with shrimp. It was excellent! The portion was large. I also ordered the crab rangoons and a Thai tea. Both very good!
This was not our first experience. It was just as good as the first time.
Wow! Great food, great service, friendly ambiance. Took a group of 7, staff did not miss a beat.
We always love the food at Bann Thai, and the servers are friendly and helpful. If you love veggies like I do, you can’t go wrong, always the freshest veggies in all the dishes I’ve tried.
We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Great service and delicious food. The homemade coconut ice cream we had was so fresh and delicious. Will be going back soon.
This was our third time at Bann Thai. Just like before, the service and food was excellent. The presentation of the Pineapple Fried Rice is absolutely top notch. We appreciate that the chef gives you the option of the degree of heat/spice you want. She’s also sensitive to food allergies and overall does a super job!
Food was wonderful and server was very personable
Visited for the first time - very good. Green curry and Panam curry were excellent. A friend got the tilapia recommend by the chef's spouse - he said it was very good. Service bit slow but there was only one server who did a great job. Not complaining about the service - it seems they can't hire people right now. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Awesome food. Great prices and service. We will be back!
Me and my party have been to Baan Thai before, The food is very good and the service is very friendly. We would definitely be going back.
Everything was OUTSTANDING- the food and service. Can’t wait to go back!!!
The food is worth any lack in service speed or ambiance. Delicious!
Jared, our waiter, was excellent. Knowledgeable about the menu and preparation of all food.
Very good presentation.
We walked in and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was extremely clean and nicely decorated. The wait staff is very knowledgeable about the food and attentive. We had the mini eggrolls , chicken and broccoli, and the pineapple fried rice. Everything was delicious and there was so much fried rice will be eating it as leftovers for a few days. Overall I would definitely be coming back the prices were very reasonable.
The food was delicious, authentic, and presented wonderfully! The server was very friendly and helpful.
Best Thai food I’ve had in the US. Will be going back soon
The food is excellent and the gentleman who works the front of the house is super friendly and helpful. They've also done a pretty nice job changing the building from the roadhouse feel that it had in its earlier incarnation.
Delicious food! And great prices! Friendly staff!
Amazing food the amount you get for the price is so worth it. The owner/chef are very friendly and come and check on you and how your doing. My family and I will definately be back!!
Food was fresh and delicious, my wife loved the pineapple fried rice and the coconut shrimp. Presentation on the plates was beautiful, with generous portions. We went Saturday afternoon (2/13/21) and there were fresh roses on the tables, Valentine's Day balloons, and a fire going in the fireplace which was a nice touch. Both the owner, and our waiter, Jaden, were very nice and answered all our questions regarding the Thai food, seasonings, etc.
A hidden gem
So friendly with a very relaxing atmosphere
Staff extremely helpful and kind
Very clean fresh food
The owners and workers at this restaurant are the most pleasant people I have dealt with in a long, long time. They are willing and able to educate you in all the flavors, heat level and ingredients in Thai food. When eating there you feel like you’re having a meal with family.
The place was very clean. The service was excellent. The food was quite good. It wasn’t the best I’ve had but close. Price was a little high but not bad. Felt well cared for as a customer.
Food is fantastic and service is even better!! Love this place!
A first class dining experience all around - food is absolutely delicious and staff are attentive without being intrusive. We recommend you try it.
My wife is Asian and I lived in several areas of Thailand over 3 years so you can assume that I know my classic, authentic Thai food.
The American owner who is married to the Thai chef was very chatty and friendly. I let him know that we had lived in Thailand and wanted REAL Thai food. He told me that ALL the dishes were 100% authentic.
We ordered Money bags, Tom Yum with Shrimp, Beef Lad Na, Green Curry Chicken and after verifying that they had Asian Mangos, we ordered 1 Mango Sticky rice for dessert. The money bags came out quickly and was nice.
Lad Na is a dish of wide, soft rice noodles stir fried and topped with meat, veggies and gravy. The dish that hit my table was meat, veggies and gravy but the noodles had been deep fried so they had puffed up like Styrofoam instead of soft gooey rice noodles. I asked the owner if he had EVER seen deep fried Styrofoam in Lad NA when he lived in Thailand and he answered that he doesn’t eat Lad Na. If you don’t know, DO NOT claim that your food is authentic.
The waiter was curious if I was right and asked the cook who said the Americans complained so now she flash fries them. OK. I get that but when I ask, don’t tell me the Lad Na is authentic when you know it’s not. I was REALLY looking forward to a decent Lad Na.
The green chicken curry was good particularly for the back woods of Ohio.
Asian Mango and sticky rice is my favorite dessert but when I try to cut the mango slice with my fork I know I got lied to again. It’s not an Asian Mango but a red/green Mexican mango. The sticky rice was very well made but had 2 chunks that were overcooked and rock hard.
Conclusion: If you don’t care if your food is authentic, give them a try. For me, I’ll drive 45 minutes to Youngstown or Pittsburg to get REAL Thai food. The price was quite fair at $40 for the meal with no alcohol. The people are very friendly and, on the surface, attentive but at the core, they don’t seem to know what proper service is.
Quite sad really
Due to COVID We got carry out
A hidden gem and the owner and staff are great. Really recommend this place
The offerings for authentic Asian food have been meager in eastern Stark County. I am of Asian American heritage, grew in the San Francisco Bay Area, have traveled quite a bit, and miss being able to have Thai or Indian food without driving to Canton. That changed when Bann Thai opened. I would recommend this to anyone who likes Thai food or Asian food in general.
Before dining at the restaurant, we ordered take-out twice, and had tried four of their curry sauces and two of their noodle dishes. I have seen more extensive menus (e.g., there is no fish or duck), but they do the Thai-American basics very well. The portion sizes are reasonable and come with a lot of sauce (yum!). The dining room has simple elegance, and under the current pandemic situation is a very peaceful setting. The wait staff and kitchen are efficient. Medium level spice is enough for most persons; I wouldn't go above that unless you like your spice to bite.
The homemade coconut ice cream, made with coconut milk instead of cow's milk, is wonderful.
Plenty of delicious food for the price. We enjoyed everything we had an needed to go boxes. There was a problem I the kitchen that nite that made service on the slow. Side However the owner kept coming around to check on every table. Will b back for sure!
Delicious meal, very attentive staff. Try the pineapple fried rice, it’s awesome. Pad Thai was great too! Place was very clean and updated. Highly recommend.
Highly recommend! Food was fantastic and staff very friendly. My husband is very picky and he loved it. We can’t wait to have again.
Amazing little gem of a restaurant! Attentive service, knowledgeable staff and very talented chef. Every plate was pleasing to the eye and palette. The curry, I had the red, was a perfect blend of warm spices and touch of sweet. The satay and potstickers were fabulous and so was the dessert (we ordered all 4 and sampled).
Fantastic meal with an attentive and helpful staff. Even the garnishes were beautiful. Will definitely visit again!
This is the 5th Time I have eaten there and each time it has been so fresh and delicious. I like it because you can order the “heat “ adjusted to your taste
I've been watching the renovation of this restaraunt outside Alliance for months waiting for it to open. And then the COVID-19 pandemic hit! Finally, they opened carry out only, and now the dining room. There is no outside seating. Because of our high risk, we did not go inside to dine. They were very helpful answering y questions of what kind of oil they use (soybean) and gluten free options. I got gluten fee pad thai and it was excellent - haven't had any in a long time. Hubby got pepper steak and loved it. I went inside for order pickup (with mask) to cheek out the inside renovation. Nice, open, clean. So glad they are finally open and ad some diversity to this area. Another bonus is they made it wheelchair accessible, which my hubby would use if we went inside to dine.
This was my third time dining @ Bann Thai and each time the experience was great and the food was outstanding. The service was excellent and staff was very attentive
I have been there several times now and the food and service have always been top notch.
