We recently enjoyed the best bbq at Bann! Fresh and delicious meat and veggies, and if you like eel, try the appetizer! Amazing!
Had dinner with a friend in town. The food was fabulous - 2 appetizers including the spicy chicken wings, and the entrees (Kalbi Jim - braised beef short ribs; Yun Aw Jorim - salmon) were spectacular!! The service was paced well, and our server was informative and friendly.
Excellent Korean food in Hell’s Kitchen, convenient to theaters. My only complaint (which lead to a 3 star rating rather than 4) is the kitchen timing. Our soup and entree showed up at the same time. Our server was accommodating and brought our entrees back to the kitchen. Luckily we ordered a main course that wasn’t negatively impacted by this. But this is a rookie mistake and should not happen at a restaurant of this caliber.
We go to Bann about every other time we go to midtown Manhattan. The staff and the food are wonderful. I have my regular choice and my wife is always pleased by the recommendations from waiter.
I was in town with a large group of students and Bann was a perfect find for us (we went twice!). While the prices might scare you away, the portions are huge so we were easily able to share one meal between two people. The students loved getting to grill at their own tables, and we were able to share many dishes between us, allowing them to explore foods they had never tried before. It is also hard to find a restaurant that can so easily accommodate tables of 12+ (and be quiet enough that we could all hear each other!). I had originally found Bann when in town two years ago with my family and we also loved it (including my 5-year-old). Highly recommend!
Food was awesome. Marinade on the meat was excellent. Had a great server. I'm gonna go back for sure!
Family night out
Service was spotty, Boise level high, but as always the food was delicious
Terrific service and very good food. BBQ was excellent and traditional. Would definitely go back.
Great restaurant! The food is delicious and the experience is great, especially for the price point. Highly recommend!
Great place for a social experience. Very fun with a small group. Food is fantastic
Great food but expensive.
It was Christmas Day so it is really hard to judge so giving them a pass on some things. We waited a long time to get a waiter to take our order, but the food came out fairly quickly. No one ever came back to check in on us and we waited a long time to be asked about dessert and to get a check. Overall the food was very good. My daughter has a gluten allergy and she was able to eat the marinated meats. We did the large grill platter for 5 adults and it was just the right amount of food. The waiter that came to take our dessert order knew very little about what gluten was and it seemed whoever he asked in the kitchen didn’t know either and so we couldn’t order dessert other then ice cream with any assurance so we skipped dessert. If you are gluten free this restaurant is a good choice I think on a normal day it could be fine.
We had dinner there on Christmas Eve. There was a large group of us and both the service and the food were excellent. I highly recommend!
Excellent BBQ, especially the chicken, shrimp, shitake. Good service. Kalbi Jim was deliciously tender. Lychee virgin drinks were super but dessert was super duper large. 1 shaved ice feeds 4 people.
Food was good possibly overly sweet marinated meat, fish. It's a unique experience that we wanted to try and now it's sort of been there done that. Nothing exceptional really
Always great food and phenomenal service!
Great food. Been going around the holidays for years. Never dissappointed
Great pre-theater dinner. There aren’t a lot of good choices in that part of town- mostly over-priced, underwhelming food. Bann had great services and a pretty diverse Korean menu. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Try their happy hour at the bar I'd you have time before yiur dinner reservations.
Always awesome food!
Have been here numerous times and have always enjoyed. Fun, good food, and great for groups.
My husband and I visit NYC once a year and always find ourselves returning to this restaurant even though there are thousand of restaurants to choose from in the city. The food is fresh and tasty and we always leave satisfied! We will definitely be back on our next visit :)
This is my second visit to Bann this year. I brought my husband and 2 kids, who are very picky eaters for lunch. My younger daughter is 10 and she said it was the best fried rice she ever ate. My other daughter is 12 and she really liked cooking her own beef on our personal grill. We all ate the shrimp dumplings, shrimp fried rice, beef tartare. I also had the short rib with pumpkin, very tender. My husband had soup with tofu, it was a little spicy. The salad that comes with the meals has a tasty dressing. I would return again. I recommend Bann for lunch or dinner.
loved the flavors. Thought I'd mind cooking my own food, but it was fine, and even fun
Muy buen lugar y comida novedosa coreana
As there was a big private party in the main part of the restaurant for a Saturday lunch, the public was seated in the smaller sectioned off area which was just fine. I ordered the Korean BBQ thinly sliced sirloin. It was a lot of meat, but I ate it all and was so much fun grilling my own slices on the individual grill built into the table. I found all the food quite filling and delicious and the green tea was plentiful.
Amazing!! The food was outstanding.. definitely have to work for your dinner though!
Absolutely perfect! Waitstaff was helpful and so sweet. All the food was amazing, and we appreciated the gluten-free options, as well.
It was nice, the service was good our server accommodated us good . The only thing is the price, too pricey for the food, you could taste or eat their food from other restaurant in a low price.
Fabulous freshly cooked food and good vegetarian choices.
We arrived 15 minutes late but was still seated. The food was spectacular and the service was even better. I returned the very next day with my husband and children.
Had some out of town family perfect location for New world theater close food good offered a wide range of choices nice presentation
In violation of NYC Consumer law. False advertising about Launch Happy Hour. The place is over rated and the prices are too expensive. Very rude staff. When I asked for manager, staff disregarded me. Food was not fresh. Food was cooked at least two days ago. AVOID!!!!!
Our food was excellent! Dol Sot Bibimbop! YUM! The waiter was very friendly and aimed to please. The server was new and still learning the ropes. He did a great job but still needs a little more experience (4 stars out of 5 though!) Will definitely be back again and again!
Food is great - a little expensive
7 women ages 24 through 70 had a wonderful time at this restaurant. We were in NYC for our annual weekend trip. None of us had ever been to a Korean B-B-Q restaurant. Everything was explained to us however, I found the pancakes a little dry & lacking flavor. Main courses included tabletop B-B-Q family style portions shared by all (filet mignon, shrimp, spicy pork, vegies), & traditional entrees of Bann Gooksu (noodle mix) & Bi Bim Bap (rice mix). Hibachi grill tables were fun & cooking our own entre meats & vegies was even fun. The hibachi grills were recessed into the tables so cooking splatter was contained. The piece de resistance was the desserts. Tropical Snow stole the show, but the Crème Brulee Trio & Soju Banana Sabyon were enjoyed by all. We always try new food/restaurants while in NYC, but rarely revisit a restaurant. This was an experience that we all want to repeat. Without hesitation our next trip to NYC will include Bann Restaurant.
This was our first visit to Bann restaurant last Friday night. We had no trouble getting a table even after having to modify the reservation. The service was good, waiters were courteous, and the food was brought out promptly. We let the waiter know we needed to be finished in 50 minutes so we could get to our show. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean, well decorated and it was not noisy so you could have a conversation. It was a casual atmosphere . The bar area seem to be filled with happy hour patrons. We sat in the dining area. We ordered the dumplings and the steak tartare for the appetizers, the beef somen soup and the beef eye round with pumpkin as an entree. The meals come with salad and a few small sides. Every dish was delicious and there was leftover. I would recommend sampling a few items and sharing the meals to sample more dishes. I thought the value is fine for these dishes with a glass of wine and the fruit flavored green tea. We did not have room for dessert. The quality of the meat was very good. My friend has owned an Asian restaurant and she's a very picky food critic. When she praised my choice, I knew this was a good place to go. I plan to go back with some other friends soon.
We had scallion pancakes, glass noodles, bbq rib eye and bbq shiitake mushrooms. All was wonderful. Service attentive.
Love their food!! Great service! Great happy hour!
Friendly service. Great food. Would definitely go back and bring everyone.
