Bann Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Very nice and cozy restaurant . Service was good and attentive . The food arrived in a timely manner and was served hot and delicious. The noise level was ambient and not distracting if you wanted to carry on a conversation. Overall a very nice, relaxing time. I would definitely recommend this place to others and would come again.
We visited there at lunch time. The restaurant was packed with customers at every table around 12:30-13:00, but it was not noisy. The atmosphere was comfortable. The staffs were very nice, friendly and helpful. The interior was chic, the restroom was clean, and their food was also very nice.
My fiancé and I went for a pre-theatre dinner and had a really good meal. We shared the beef tartare and the chicken steamed buns. The steamed buns were good but the tartare was a little lacking. It still got finished but I would skip it next time. For entrees we got the Bokkum Bop and the Bann Gooksu and both were really good. The service was well paced and speedy enough for pre-theatre. We would definitely return.
We came here from dinner Saturday night with an OpenTable RSVP for 8:00pm. The table wasn't ready for another 30mins, but the hostess felt so bad for it that we got a free appetizer and dessert with our meal. We weren't in a rush, so the extra time at the bar wasn't a hassle or anything. The bartender was also quite nice. The food was delicious and tasted authentic. The restaurant is quite large, so there were quite a few groups there. We had very attentive service. Overall a great experience, even with the extra wait. We'll definitely go back.
We had NYE dinner at Bann on December 31, 2017. Overall, the food was good and delicious except the waiter misheard what I ordered and brought me other meal, which I thought the one I ordered. However, the waiter fixed the issue easily. I highly reccomend the place to others.
Bann was so wonderful! We had the glass noodle appetizer, mushroom bbq, and tofu main dish. 3 of us shared it and it was all delicious and enough for us all. It was also fun to cook the mushrooms ourselves. The staff was so friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back the next time we are in nyc! Also, we were 15 minutes late for our reservation but they held it and let us know it was no problem
I picked Bann a bit randomly after our plans for a different Korean restaurant fell through; only when I arrived did I realize I've walked by it many times while passing through Worldwide Plaza. The food was delicious--we had several appetizers (steamed buns were a standout), bibimbap and kalbi. They also have a fun cocktail list. Prices are a bit high--the dishes aren't super-elevated, but you're looking at $20-25 for an entree--but portions are generous.
The service was friendly and attentive but not pushy...we lingered at our table long enough for me to feel a bit guilty, but not once did the staff make us feel at all rushed. This section of midtown can be a bit of a restaurant desert, so this is a nice spot when you want something better than a pub but not a hotel restaurant.
Great food, but a very crowded table situation. Because the tables have barbeque pits in them they can't be moved around. We had 5 people squeezed into a table meant for 4 with no possible way to shift the table to make more space for the chair at the end. We are also used to spicier korean food, but maybe you have to ask for it to be regular spice? This was our second time there. The time before was before the theater, and very comfortable. This time was for dinner and was more crowded then we were hoping for. But that is NY! next time we will go earlier, we do love it there.
Bann is perfect for people who want to try Korean food with some twists. We recently visited with my mother-in-law who is visiting from Seoul, Korea, as well as my son who was in town from Fort Bliss, Texas.
A few highs - The Pork Belly Bun (awesome), the Glass Noodle Appetizer (The best according to my wife), Chicken Wings and the Bulgogi. What I really liked about the Bulgogi was that it was served on a heated plate so the last bite was a good as the first. And having eaten this dish in many places (including Korea), Bann did it justice.
Atmosphere was casual, but warm. And the location near the theater district was ideal.
came here for dinner-- food was excellent and the presentation was beautiful--everything we ordered was extremely tasty. But but we did not realize how big the appetizers were (wish waiter would have warned us). Would definitely come back again--but would only order 1 appetizer for 2 people if you are planning on ordering main meal as well.
