This was our first time here, we thought it was OK but not good enough to to go back to considering the prices. We had the crabcakes which we thought were good but it was not that much food for the price and the lemon sauce was barely on the plate, we wish there was more. The salad on the plate had no dressing on it. The oyster stew tasted like water. We enjoyed the apple crumble. We thought our waitress was great. I wish that the lighting was dimmer inside it seemed bright. In the future we will probably go to Bardea, Dorcea or Columbus inn.
As always, excellent food and wonderful service !!
Always solid and fresh
Superior service, cuisine and ambience. Highly recommended.
Great lunch spot! Had seafood nachos and ahi tuna tacos and my buddy had the salmon....the food is awesome! Will come back again soon....thanks!
The meal started off great with a nice Chenin Blanc to complement the raw oysters. Tremendous. We followed with very well executed Moules Frites. From things went downhill. It was nice to see Stone Crabs on the menu, but we definitely were not in Florida...they were watery and without much flavor, probably had been frozen too long? Then the whole Branzino looked wonderful but they finished it with a chili oil (not mentioned on the menu) that made it too spicy for my wife. I ended up eating it but the chili oil was totally unnecessary. That beautiful whole fish would have been delicious on its own. And the side of panzanella was unrecognizable, hard and like a tray on croutons.
We'll return because it is a true seafood restaurant with many choices. But we will be more careful in our choices next time.
Pretty good but not one of my top
Restaurants. Prices were extremely high $40 and needed to buy sides. No salad. Dropped $350 for four. Not a good value.
Beautiful establishment but received over cooked shrimps as my appetizer so we started off wrong also my Wifes bread was very hard for her Crab and artichoke dip. My Bass was great but my Wifes crabcakes was under seasoned plain tasting. We loved the atmosphere more than the food. Maybe will come back.
Overpriced and terrible food. The ambiance was awful. Would not recommend this restaurant.
We arrived over an hour before our reservation and we were seated right away. The food was excellent, the prices were reasonable for the quality, and the service was likewise great.
Went for NYE and had a wonderful meal. Great to see Banks in the kitchen too!
Scallops were delicious. My husband‘s crabcakes were good but not very hot. Service was good. It’s one big room, so it does get a little noisy.
Was not happy that our waitress wouldn't wear a mask. I would not recommend a crabcake. Theirs used to be excellent, but I guess with the price of crab, they decided to used more filler. I guess the fact that Pres. Biden went there for his New Year's Eve dinner speaks highly of the place.
Server was fantastic but food was very disappointing.
Great place eat and our waitresses was outstanding
Very tasteful, innovative and interesting menu. Enjoyed every bite! Service was fast and very helpful too.
Sorry, very expensive for food that was just good to average, and an ambiance that does not match the high prices. They don’t even have candles or table clothes; the bill for 4 people(only two beers each) came to $360 before tip! And no, no one got the lobster. 1 pound of shell on Blue Fin crab claws was $59! They had more shell than meet and lacked flavor, not worth the cost. They charged by the individual shrimp for shrimp cocktail! SMALL bowl of Manhattan clam, $13. Save yourself some money and go to Big Fish or somewhere else. The Ambiance at Iron Hill Brewery is nicer!
Expensive but outstanding! Best meal I’ve had in a long time
We celebrated Christmas Eve eve. Food was delicious and service was excellent. We purchased a $100 gift card as a Christmas gift for my husband's brother and SIL. They would also love the experience at Bank's!
Even with reservation we were seated in the bar area, which was pretty loud. Totally Understand everyone is short on help, but service was very slow. The food was not as good as the t was in the past. Bit of a let down, probably will not go back.
Menu choices were exceptional, loved the fried oysters and the fried pickles. The crab soup was excellent. The entree of crab cakes, micro salad was outstanding, the sauteed spinach and toasted garlic potatoes were excellent. The dessert of apple crisp with salted caramel gelatto was perfect. Our server was excellent, attentive and our food arrived in a timely matter and was perfectly hot and seasoned well. No complaints at all. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to all my friends, and associates. Would visit again when I am in the area.
Early dinner after theater. We shared crabcakes and a spinach. Excellent. Good beer, wine selection. Our friends shared bisque and scallops. Also excellent. Service was super.
It was so nice to go to a well run, well staffed restaurant. Our food, the Lobster in the Nude and Striped Bass were perfectly prepared and served. The staff made the whole evening perfectly enjoyable.
Ryan was fantastic and the food was great. We felt the fried oysters was a smaller portion for the price but they were delicious
Great food and outstanding service, we enjoy going to Banks every time we attend DTC!
Dinner with a friend to celebrate the Holidays.
We sat by the fireplace. Nice ambience.
We started with some clams and Crab Bisque and Cocktails. The food was absolutely delicious. Dishes are on the expensive side but the quality is worth every cent! We both had the Surf and Turf, Filet with Crab Cake. Awesome crab cake and filet cooked to perfection! Our sides were garlic mashed potatoes and spinach. Sides will serve about 2-3 people approximately. Every bite at our meal was exquisite! If you have room, try a dessert! We had Apple Crisp with Vanilla Gelato. They have Caramel Gelato to go with the Apple crisp too! Saw other mouth watering desserts coming out to other guests that looked to die for!
Oysters, shrimp and clams casino were outstanding. Lobster salad had big chunks of lobster.
The waiter was superb. Apps were delicious but a costly for the amount. Specifically the roasted beets. Should add more arugula and beets for the $13.
Fresh food. Fair prices for mod upscale seafood restaurant. Servers were masked which I appreciated.
Too many TVs in the dining area. Music selection annoying for evening dining in a restaurant.
We had the best waitperson in Ryan. Excellent service from him. Loved his very pleasantness. Keep Ryan. Hard to find such a great waiter.
Excellent food and service. Overheat lights too bright especially on tables in front of fireplace. Ruined atmosphere. Request to dim lights did not result in significant change. Managers should have been more tuned in.
Always an excellent experience. Banks never disappoints.
The food at Bank's is consistently well prepared and delicious. The menu offers many choices in all categories so no one will be disappointed. We enjoy this restaurant with it's location on the Riverfront.
We have been to Banks several times, both as Banks and its former incarnation.
We have always found the food and service excellent. A little pricy for an average dinner but reasonable for that special celebration.
The food was fantastic. Our waiter was knowledgeable and engaging.
Great restaurant, especially for pre or after Delaware Theatre Co. show. Dining room is 1 large room which can make it noisy. Service was excellent - knowledgeable, friendly & perfectly timed between courses. Raw bar & seafood entrees were outstanding.
The food was outstanding. The prices were a little high for our portion sizes, but the service made up for that. The drinks were delicious and we had an incredible time.
