Extremely disappointing experience on 9/22 at Bank’s Seafood. Server took a while to come to table and had to ask hostess if we had one or if we were supposed to go to the bar since we were seated at a booth in the bar. We got our appetizer fairly quickly and received our entrees a short time later, however that is where the night changed. Throughout or meal we noticed many people walking around without masks on. There seemed to constantly be someone walking right past our table without a mask on. Not one staff member said anything to these customers about the current regulations which require masks to be worn unless you are seated at your table. My husband and I said something to a few of the customers who basically laughed at us. I felt so uncomfortable I didn’t even want to eat my meal after one of the unmasked individuals walked past our table and let out a cough. I sent my meal back basically untouched and spoke with the manager who finally said something to the customers who were not wearing masks but at this point it was too late. We got our check and I left hungry. No discount was taken off the check either. We were celebrating my husbands birthday and a nice night out without our son and were unable to do that. Not to mention how dirty the restaurant was. We sat at a booth in the bar and at one point looked up to find the ledge above our table absolutely covered in spider webs and dust. Absolutely disgusting to eat under.
It’s a shame because I come just for the Cioppino which is always delicious, and I wasn’t even able to enjoy it.
Extremely disappointed in Bank’s after that experience, especially when we have heard good things about their social distancing precautions, apparently not when we were there though.
Awesome service, food was beyond exceptional, a little pricey but worth it
The restaurant was very clean, the staff very friendly. We had an excellent server who was quick and very informative. The food was delicious and the creme brulee was amazing. Overall we had a wonderful experience. The food was pricey but we felt it was worth it.
Overall... great! Have never had a bad meal yet. However since the reopening from the pandemic, the meal felt rushed. We were out in under an hour.
Excellent menu choices; beautiful outdoor setting on the river - great salads and fresh fish - delicious desserts!! A must if you are in the area
It was a awesome time, I'll definitely be back 😘😘
Service was excellent. Hostess accommodated our desire to have social distancing between me and my friend using two tables. That was entirely possible since it was a slow lunch outside. The Brussel Sprouts were excellent and the Fish and Chips were also good but I could have had more fish and less french fries
Always consistent, we are regulars. Happy to find soft shell crabs on the menu this late in the season
Great place good food , perfect date night place!
Great seafood restaurant with plenty of scenic outdoor dining
Drinks are overpriced. Food also a little pricey. Not sure you get the value for your money.
I noted it was for a birthday, yet no dessert was given. According to the server, the lights outside didn’t work and the speakers outside didn’t work (and never has since she’s worked there).
Beautiful birthday dinner
Great food and great service. Love the drinks as well.
First time back to one of my all time favorites post Covid. Lots of outdoor seating with a view. Chef Banks and his team go to great lengths to ensure a safe and delicious experience.
Had riverside outdoor table on sunny evening. Great setting for fun meal! Superb attentive service. Appetizers, cocktails, wine, and entrees were delicious. Anxious to return to Chef Bank’s Seafood Kitchen for perfectly prepared dishes.
We were there for lunch on a Friday. It took awhile for a server to come at first. The hostess did jump in to get our drinks. The food was excellent. We will be back.
21 year Anniversary
We both could not decide between the scallops or the crab cakes so we decided that each would order one and we would share. Our meals were plated beautifully!!! Our server, James, asked the kitchen to do the splitting for us and it was very much appreciated! No need to share across the table! The food was amazing as was the wine list. If you haven't tried Banks, you're cheating yourself out of a great dining experience.
I felt safe eating indoors. I will definitely go again soon.
Service was good but we ordered 9 oysters and 6 were bad/spoiled.
Food was average at best. Had food half the price that was much better!!!!
Crab cake was amazing. Scallops were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Lovely setting, sat outdoors.
The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend Bank's Seafood.
We went for our wedding anniversary, wanting to have a nice ambiance outside on the river. The ambiance was pleasant. We got there at our reservation time and were told the wait time was 20 minutes for everyone, the greeter seemed unimpressed that we had an actual reservation. We went back to our car to wait. However, we actually got seated after 10 mins which was nice.
-Food: very average. Oyster stew appetizer literally had 2 oysters in it. The stew itself was tasty. Mussels were ok. Fish was ok. I’m surprised this is supposed to be the best seafood around...
-Service: I ordered snapper and was served salmon. Took another 20 mins to receive the correct order, by which time my husbands food was cold since he was waiting on me to eat. The waitress was apologetic though. The rest of the service was timely.
-COVID precautions: overall precautions seems to be taken, except that our waitress was not correctly wearing her mask (kept slipping off her nose). Good distancing was maintained at least.
Wouldn’t go back for a special occasion at least, experience overall was meh. Might return for causal outdoor dining with low expectations for food.
Very impressed with the food, service, and overall experience. Would recommend to anyone looking for an excellent seafood experience!
Picked Banks as our first dining out since March to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The whole experience lived up to our expectations with wonderful service and special dishes that we wouldn’t or couldn’t make at home. We both agreed that we would not hesitate to come back after experiencing the precautions taken to ensure a save and enjoyable outing.
Overall great experience. They help me accommodate large group of people for a birthday get together. Everything tasted flavorful and delicious. The wait staff was very attentive and super nice. I look forward to coming back again I appreciate everything you guys had done for my fiance's special day 😁
Nice restaurant on the river front good views, good food and good service
Great ambiance on the water front, great food and drink, more than great service.
What are you waiting for? Get in the car and go!
Wonderful dinner on the patio overlooking the riverwalk and Christina river. Service was excellent.
Great meal and nice setting down on the river front. I would highly recommend.
Food was very good, but very expensive. Probably not worth the money even though the quality was very good. Service was not good. When I go to a top end restaurant that charges as much as they do, I expect top end service as well. Wait staff and management seemed similar to an Appleby’s.
Food and service were really really good!!
Nice dining experience on the waterfront. Food and service are good.
After five months of eating at home, it was wonderful to eat someone else's cooking and not have to clean up afterward! We've been here a number of times, even before the ownership change, and have always loved it.
Disappointed the chef didn’t stop at our table after speaking with table across from us.
Noise level was from the bridge😞
Always the best!
Overall a nice Sunday lunch experience eating on the deck outside. Be aware that on Sundays there is no lunch menu with only the dinner menu available. You can ask for a lunch item that the chef will prepare if the ingredients are available. For me, I had the oyster stew which was just mediocre with oyster crackers that must have been purchased before the shutdown as they were very stale. I also had the lobster roll which had lots of lobster on a nicely toasted bun. Unfortunately the lobster was nearly tasteless. we usually have very good meals here so this one experience wont keep us from returning. The excellent service saved the meal.
Excellent dinner from crab bisque and snapper ceviche to halibut and trout. The cocktails are spot on too! Lemon Lava cake for dessert to die for. Enjoy!
