This is not a restaurant. It is a night club...
There was no host/hostess. Only 2 security guards at the front of the 'restaurant'.
We were so turned off by the scene downstairs that we walked out. When I asked for a host/hostess, the security guard said that there wasn't one. How was I supposed to check in and get a table?
I have been to this place before and it was great. This time, I brought guests & was totally embarrassed. We immediately wen to another Mexican restaurant... and I would NOT recommend Banko Cantina.

It was meh... I don’t understand why there is a service fee for a table of 3. Knowing the server will automatically get 20% gratitude makes service mediocre. Had to hunt down for ketchup, for the check etc.

I went for the first time this past weekend with my girl friends and it was a great time! The waitress we had was on top of everything, no waiting to get their attention when we needed refills on drinks. The food was surprisingly tasty for the low prices on their brunch menu.

Music was awfully loud on the main floor which made it difficult to have conversations with our friends. We felt like we were back at Joey's at the Jersey Shore back in the 80's but there wasn't any dance floor! Food was great, service was a bit slow. Entertainer John Vincent was fantastic, but the speakers were ridiculously loud. We weren't there to dance and party; we were there to have dinner, enjoy the show, and enjoy being with our friends. Why must almost all of the clubs and restaurants play the music so loud? I am a professional jazz and pop musician and we are always very cognizant of the clients' desire to converse with one another. Just something you might want to look at; in spite of the loud speakers, we will still be back!

Great location, atmosphere and food. The building architecture lends itself to a cool dining/bar experience downstairs and to a unique nightspot upstairs. Servers and staff were friendly and efficient. The decor at Christmas time is phenomenal. We're glad we made reservations...the place got busy pretty quickly after 7pm. Generous portions at reasonable prices. Guac and house margheritas were awesome. Parking and walking was easy and convenient. Kid friendly/appropriate...just remember it's a restaurant and bar, not a Chucky Cheese...Servers move at a purposeful speed, so parents, be responsible and mindful of the little ones. My 11 year old loved it. We'll definitely be back.

Banko Cantina offers a nice variety of tacos for dinner, and we tried three and traded among the table so everyone got a taste; most come with 4 small (larger than Rocco's Tacos). I liked the flavor and spice of the shrimp taco, my husband loved his 'de tinga' tacos (braised chicken with smoky chipolte) and someone else liked the carne asada tacos. I found the carne asada tacos to be dry, others added sour cream to moisten them up. The guacomole was good but the queso fundido was a complete miss - I expected a molcahete bowl filled with bubbling cheese and chorizo but instead it is like a platter of barely melted cheese with ground chorizo thrown on top. The house premium margarita was great (a bit pricey at $13). One of our group had the all you can eat prime rib special ($30) and found the meat to be tasty and it came with smashed potatoes and brocoli.

Odd vibe to the restaurant, you can tell it is a night club trying to offer grown up food...we ate early for a Saturday night (7 - 9 PM) and it was picking up as we were leaving. The restroom is on the second floor - which is 3 flights UP! Food quality is as good as Rocco's Tacos without the ear splitting noise level...and Banko Cantina's house margarita is much better than any, and I have tried them all, of the margaritas down the street.

Went to banko cantina for Sunday brunch. My friends and I had a great time. The music, food, and service was great. We drank unlimited mimosas and danced the afternoon away. As of now, this has been my favorite brunch spot in Clematis. I definitely recommend.

Everything was absolutely great out waitress Amanda was outstanding. Everything g was going very good until I decided to ask the DJ on the Sky something to play may be one or two songs. He was rude and said u can go to the second floor for that. I spend over $500 !! And his answer was that, seriously ? I had 16 people with me and had a VIP section and I wasn’t able to request a song? That was terrible. Like I said Amanda was terrific and the food was good as well.

My review is based on Valentine's day special. I was not expecting anything out of the ordinary because I have been to this place before, and I knew it was not a place for special occasions. I only had two choices since my boyfriend decided to do something last minute, so I made a reservation and off we went. I got there and the place was almost empty, at first I was like ok. But at the end of the night it was the best thing, I liked and enjoyed the quietness. The food was amazing, and they out did themselves with the Valentine’s special menu. I had lobster tail and bf had stake, we had a bottle of wine, and dessert, tres leches cake was delicious. The food overall was perfect to enjoy it all from entrée to dessert without feeling too full. I was really surprise and happy about our choice. I will definitely be back and recommend other people to go as well.

We unknowingly had reservations for Taco Tuesday. Wonderful prices and very good food. We were stunned that we had only been allowed a 5:00 reservation, yet when we arrived the restaurant was empty. We were given permission to walk around an bit and we returned to be seated at 5:30ish. It did fill up by the end of our meal. Why were we not allowed a later (6:00) reservation?
We will return.

I'm not sure why this restaurant is on open table. It is more of a club that serves food than a restaurant. There was no hostess or servers. I had not choice but to sit at the bar. Service was lacking (though bartender seemed to have been a long shift with little help) - my drink order forgotten (then done incorrectly), my tacos came before the guacamole appetizer arrived. It was a very odd experience. I will not be back if i find myself in WPB again.
