I made reservations about a week out before the actual date, we were seated and was also waiting for some of the party to arrive. A party or 8 and we were being asked to move
Due to over booking right after just getting our food, we also were
Told by the waitress that she would move us to the second floor and extend our bottom less for two hours that wasn’t the case, we went to the second floor and the rude bartenders rudely shouted were closed until 3 we’re not open yet after explaining the story to her as to why we moved she said well there’s nothing we can do we’re not open yet go to the 3rd floor. We waited on the first floor until 3 and the waitress came back with 1 bottle of champagne with 5 glasses for a party of 8. We then asked for the manager. Who gave us two bottles of champagne, the fact that we were moved and then told to wait was incredibly frustrating

It was good, the only thing was that the music was a little too loud to have a decent conversation across the table without yelling.

We had a wonderful meal, food was delicious, veggies were fresh, shrimp nice size and quantity. Server was attentive, checking beverages and water. We would definitely go ahead, plenty of options. Nice portions.

Our server was slow with delivering the drink order when the bar was 5ft away. He didn’t check on us to see to see if we were happy with our food and when he did come over, he didn’t listen. I don’t know if the guy was overtired or overwhelmed. Either way, the service was bad & the food was even worse. I ordered the steak tacos in which they were extremely dry.. They gave a salsa with it but it was so hot I was in tears. At least give options with the order. One of my friend’s food came out wrong. She asked for no sour cream but it was put on her food anyways. You could tell they just cleared it off and put more sauce because it was then missing the cheese that was supposed to be on top. We won’t be going back there. It’s disappointing because the atmosphere and the light fixtures were beautiful but the staff not so much.

I've celebrated Cinco de Mayo at this establishment the last two years. I must say I was a bit disappointed tequila specials were not available this year. Nonetheless, we had a great meal here. We enjoyed the guacamole. My friend had tacos and I had the vegetable bowl which was robust with flavor. The energy was present and our server did a great job!

Annoying loud. Playing. Rap music on Cinco de Mayo??? Just because the “club” is upstairs doesn’t mean patrons want to hear it while dining

Food was OK. Shrimp quesadilla
Salsa came in small ramekins? Not sure why
Chips good and fresh
Service at bar was subpar
Hostess was denying my table because she missed my name on the reservation list. Literally she tried to lock me out.
Spicy margarita on the rocks was good

The experience was not family friendly at all. It is marketed as a restaurant however, we felt as though we were in a night club. This restaurant is on open table and i feel that it should not be. It was myself, my husband, 2 teenage boys and a toddler. In order to use the bathroom you must go up to the 2nd floor, knock on the door for a "bouncer" to let you through then wait in a line that in 20 people long. Seriously? That was absolutely unaccommodating when you have a 3 year old that has to go potty. We had to leave the establishment and use the facilities at a neighboring restaurant. Luckily they were kind enough to allow us to use them. There was a dj playing the music loudly we had to yell across the table to hear each other speak. While we were there a fist fight broke out and it had to be broken up by 3 "bouncers". They knocked over chairs and pushed tables. Many guest including ourselves had to get up from the tables to avoid being part of the altercation. The food was delicious and the service provided was outstanding but everything we experienced shadows the positive. We will never return and we will make sure that our family oriented friends are aware to stay far away from this establishment. Extreamly disappointed. Last note, this all occurred at 5 o'clock in the evening. I would be scared to see what its like later in the evening.

I've gone to Banko a few times before for brunch and have LOVED IT, however, this time my friends and I were very upset by the treatment we got at the bar. We had reservations and when we arrived the hostess told us our seats were reserved at the bar. My friends and I sat and a young man was very nive and got us started. A few minutes later another gentleman (short and chubby) came by and took the reservation sign and placed it directly in front of us and told us the seat were reserved. We told him that we were the reservation. He mumbled something and walked away. We moved the reservation sign (since it was in our way) and he came back and placed it in front of us again. From that point forward, he just gave us dirty looks and a nasty vibe. It was to the point that we had to approach the hostess about it. When the hostess told him that we called the reservations and they were our seats, he said how he reserved those seats for his friends and that they were supposed to be sitting there (seriously?!). At that point, the hostess (very sweet) approached another employee and asked about it. They came back a few minutes later and said that there was a misunderstanding, that our seats were further down the bar, but other people were sitting there. They asked the other people to move and then placed us there. I'm not sure if that was true or if they just accommodated the bartender jerk, but either way, he could've handle us with proper customer support and figured out what happened without the dirty looks and slick comments. The rest of our day was GREAT! Our new bartender was GREAT and a trickster so it was fun!

Made reservations at Banko on open table, got to the restaurant early and told the hostess if we needed to wait we didn’t mind. Our reservation couldn’t be found at first because the wrong day was looked at. We were seated in the bar area with the ledges- they moved a few seats up for us. Not a big deal. we sat there for 10 minutes. The hostess came back to check on us and let us know that they had to call in another waiter. Waited again for about another 5-10 minutes before the executive chef (and I think owner) came over, brought us chips and let us know someone would be with us in which shortly the waiter showed up- we placed our order for apps, food and drink (since we had plenty of time to look at the menu). Our guacamole came out (best thing!) and our server said he would be back with water and our drinks. Probably 10 minutes later our food came out- great because we were starving, but there wasn’t any silverware. Tried to get a few folks attention and then the hostess asked us how it was going and SHE finally got us silver ware. Then the drinks came out (in which the el pepino didn’t even have the sugar and salt peppercorn rim) to which we were told the bar lost our drinks so there was a “fight”. We decided to order another beverage when our first we more than half full since we knew it could be longer. I changed it up to a sangria and he brought me my first drink I ordered (still no rim). 🤦🏻‍♀️. With all the time we had to people watch, we saw the staff arguing at the front of the business and the exec chef lady/owner ridicule her hostesses for trying to get things moving. The server had 500 excuses as to why his service was subpar and included 20% gratuity. Not sure if it’s standard for 2 people. The hostess with the sweet eyeshadow skills IS your best asset! Overall: Seemed like a Hot mess express.

Me and my 2 friends went here for brunch on a nice sunny Sunday! The atomosphere was very fun but yet busy. Our waiter Joe was very attentive and very polite. He gave us great recommendations as well as kept us stocked with mimosas refills. Upstairs was a day party, and on the 3rd floor was like a relaxed scene, with games and music. Definitely 10/10 i recommend! I’m going back next Sunday!

Went for brunch. Omelette inedible, I complained, manager agreed with me but
Only took 50% off since I had eaten a portion. My friends ordered unlimited
Mimosas, but they tasted like it was just orange juice. Manager said they make the
Entire batch early in the morning and bubbles turn to dissipate with time.
We were 4 when the bill came they had added the tip (5 or more 20%tip). We didn’t
Catch that error. All in all, this place will be
Closed in a few months as people avoid it.

Banko is my new Taco Tuesday spot. I love the variety of music they play, multiple screens if you want to watch sports and the tacos of course! $2-$5 tacos and $15 margaritas (pitchers) .. It doesn’t get better than that! Love this place 🤤

This is not a restaurant. It is a night club...
There was no host/hostess. Only 2 security guards at the front of the 'restaurant'.
We were so turned off by the scene downstairs that we walked out. When I asked for a host/hostess, the security guard said that there wasn't one. How was I supposed to check in and get a table?
I have been to this place before and it was great. This time, I brought guests & was totally embarrassed. We immediately wen to another Mexican restaurant... and I would NOT recommend Banko Cantina.

It was meh... I don’t understand why there is a service fee for a table of 3. Knowing the server will automatically get 20% gratitude makes service mediocre. Had to hunt down for ketchup, for the check etc.

Music was awfully loud on the main floor which made it difficult to have conversations with our friends. We felt like we were back at Joey's at the Jersey Shore back in the 80's but there wasn't any dance floor! Food was great, service was a bit slow. Entertainer John Vincent was fantastic, but the speakers were ridiculously loud. We weren't there to dance and party; we were there to have dinner, enjoy the show, and enjoy being with our friends. Why must almost all of the clubs and restaurants play the music so loud? I am a professional jazz and pop musician and we are always very cognizant of the clients' desire to converse with one another. Just something you might want to look at; in spite of the loud speakers, we will still be back!

Great location, atmosphere and food. The building architecture lends itself to a cool dining/bar experience downstairs and to a unique nightspot upstairs. Servers and staff were friendly and efficient. The decor at Christmas time is phenomenal. We're glad we made reservations...the place got busy pretty quickly after 7pm. Generous portions at reasonable prices. Guac and house margheritas were awesome. Parking and walking was easy and convenient. Kid friendly/appropriate...just remember it's a restaurant and bar, not a Chucky Cheese...Servers move at a purposeful speed, so parents, be responsible and mindful of the little ones. My 11 year old loved it. We'll definitely be back.
