We thought the meal offer which o clouded a bottom of wine was exceptional value. Staff were all very helpful. Bathroom was some way sauna like with towel rail full on on a hot day!

The food was amazing, a taste explosion. Every mouthful was a delight! The furniture was in keeping with the age of the building which is situated in the picturesque and historic part of the town. We will definitely be returning .

Great location in a very historic part of town. It's a balanced menu with at least 2 choices for veggie or vegan, similar on meat and also fish. Portions are good, just right. The battered cod was excellent. Nice welcomevand good service. The 'misses' are in the baffling interpretation, and finishing. Focaccia simply wasn't that- it was just some sort of compact, dry, white tomato flavoured bread not in any way shape or form being focaccia. Fat chips were just soft skin-on wedges. It's almost as if chef was off work unexpectedly and the brigade were trying to pick up the pieces and wing it. Finishing could have had more finesse. On that crab linguine give a squeeze of lemon and some parsley. Double cook those chips to get them crispy. Turn up the temp on the oil fryer to get the salt n pepper squid to not be soggy. . A shame, but nothing that cannot easily be fixed if the desire to pay attention to detail exists

Our family drove up from West London as part of my mums 90th birthday. The Bank House were very accomodating and service was excellent . The food was good but a limited chioice on the menu we were given. However it was a very nice afternoon and thoroughly reccomend.
