Bandolero is absolutely amazing. The staff treated us like family and the food was delicious. There was a live band playing while we had dinner, which was so fun! The decor is beautiful, very romantic. I will definitely be returning soon!
Outstanding from top to bottom. Great venue. Elegant, but not stuffy. Fantastic service from Octavio, including some dinner recommendations (and one or two dishes he felt weren’t up to par).
Sat outside on the patio near the live music entertainment. Even though it was 100 degrees out, the misters kept us very comfortable.
A couple of specialty margaritas (prickly pear and watermelon) to start off were delicious and not overwhelming in sweetness. Delicious.
The menu is more eclectic and traditional Mexican food. If you’re looking for TexMex, this isn’t it. Although they have guacamole, two taco dishes (served more like fajitas) and two enchilada dishes, the entrees aren’t anything like TexMex. Which, in my opinion, is a good thing. I can get tacos and burritos anywhere.
My spouse ordered the pork ribs. Not what you’re thinking. Meaty ribs to be cut off the bone, with mashed potatoes and a tamarind sauce that was tangy/sweet. Huge portion.
I had the Mole de Cerdo… pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon in a mole sauce. Deep rich dark brown almost black mole. Delicious. Accompanied with a side of Mexican rice and plantains that were fantastic.
Visually, these two entrees were absolutely gorgeous in presentation and did not disappoint in taste. Portions are plentiful.
For dessert we shared the tres leches cake, which had fresh apple shavings (think of spaghetti texture and shape) on top. Also a stunning presentation.
There are plenty of seafood, steak, pork and chicken options on the menu. I hate restaurants that have limited entree selections or where I can barely find one entree to my liking. This wasn’t the case. I was torn between three or four choices.
Even though we live here full time, we felt like we were vacationing in a foreign country. The atmosphere, the dinner presentation, the taste…and yes, the music. All outstanding.
One of the best restaurants in the Phoenix area. A great experience. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return.
Service was very so so. Went for an anniversary and the waiter showed up with the bill at the end of denned with 2 drops of champagne
Beautiful restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing. The steak and shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes was to die for. My margarita was very sour and they somehow messed up a gin and soda. Service was terrible, for a party of 10, our server barely checked in. Took almost an hour to get our drinks. Then another 30 mins later they dropped chips and salsa and our food at the same time. No follow up check in, had to ask other employees multiple times where our server was just to get water refills. Would definitely go back for the food and ambiance, but hesitant on the service.
Our experience was horrible from beginning to end. We were seated without enough menus, waited for 20+ minutes to have our drink order taken and then another 15+ to have our food order taken, and we had to ask someone other than our server to take our order. When our order arrived, one meal was missing. By the time the meal arrived (incorrectly) everyone else had finished their meals. The server lied about how the meal was supposed to be, after being told he was wrong, he brought the rest of the order, clearly having lied previously. He then brought "drinks on the house" and then later tried to charge us for them. He forgot to deliver the dessert we ordered. The whole experience was absolutely horrible.
Restaurant week dinner was very good. Ample portions. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Live music an added bonus.
Very busy and popular place - consequently kitchen backed up, so service between courses was spotty.
Fantastic food and atmosphere definitely a do over
It was close to being great, but just didn't quite get there.
The atmosphere was very nice, the food was amazing. My only complaint was the margaritas.....it’s a Mexican restaurant....your margaritas should be your signature! They were so sour with too much lime juice they were un drinkable. I sent the 1st one back and the replacement was good, ordered a second and again un drinkable. I didn’t feel like explaining it again to the same bartender so I just left it sit. The couple next to us said the same thing.
Great service and ambiance, we really enjoyed the live music. Little disappointed with food, ceviche had no flavor and only 4 shrimp on a salad, enchiladas were good but beans and rice are not homemade. Very tasty drinks, spicy mango margarita.
Saw @WelcometoArizona's post about this spot and had to check it out! Great set up they have, I love the décor. I went earlier at 4pm and left after 7pm, and it was really picking up then! Live music, tables were full! They are changing the menu soon and I’m looking forward to seeing what they add to the menu – I hope more shareables/appetizers. Great drink happy hour, but my recommendation is to add some food happy hour options too!
First time for our group of four to take in Bandolero!! Absolutely worth the tasty and delightful experience! We’ll return soon for sure!

When we FINALLY were served our dinners, they were tasty. The server had forgotten to send our ticket to the kitchen, so even after well over an hour, when the food was finally delivered, we never received the appetizers we had ordered.
The server was appropriately apologetic (in his defense, he was waiting on two very large tables of diners around the same time). But looking back on it, one of our two dinners should have been comped by the restaurant, IMHO--especially since we didn't even get to try the appetizers we had ordered.
We may give the restaurant a second chance since we did indeed enjoy our entries (beef tacos and red snapper), but can't really recommend it given our experience.
Not your typical, "street food" Mexican fare - much more bespoke with delicate flavors. Delicious, well prepared and presented. Generous portions. Chocolate Tequila - terrific! Our mindsets
Overall solid place. I had the lamb entree which was amazing. The live band added a good ambiance. Only real complaint was the chips which were mostly broken and really small which made it hard to enjoy our guacamole. Maybe just a one time problem though.
Great band playing
Awful experience. We got seated at 715. Menus at 750. Ordered right away. Drinks at 820. Food came at 855. And was cold. Poorest service I have ever had. Manager was unapologetic.
Simply put, it was just ok.
Chef Joseph, Angel and Mia just made our night beyond special, the people along with the food is just above and beyond incredible. What a wonderful place to dine!
Server was excellent. This is probably the 6th time we have eaten here. Love the food and experience
Perfect date night. Ambiance was great, live music but not too loud. Food and service was phenomenal. Definitely recommend.
Excellent food. Not typical Mexican fare of chimis and burritos. Still used Mexican ingredients but with an elevated flare!!
This is a very pretty restaurant with a fun vibe. The live music is a great addition.
The food is very very good. I ordered the tuna rare and it was done perfectly. Presentation is great but maybe a little more thought should be given to the ease of eating the dish. The roasted corn on the cob with the husk attached looks good but is hard to handle. The salads are delicious and very shareable but if they ordered to be shared then should be served with separate salad plates and serving spoons. Service was prompt and friendly and any issues were corrected immediately.
Everything we ordered was excellent. The patios are comfortable and welcoming. We will definitely be back.
Mother’s Day. One of the customers has allergies and the waitstaff was wonderful.
Excellent food, service and ambience. It's our 2nd time in 2 weeks and we'll be back again next month.
Overall, my experience was outstanding. The food and service were excellent.
Enjoyed Mother’s Day, it was our first time dining here and we will for sure be back! Margaritas are delicious, ambiance is great, food options are excellent if your palate craves something other than basic fajitas and hard shell tacos, and food smothered in cheese. Don’t get me wrong I love hard shell tacos every once in a while. The menu is is carefully curated offering authentic dishes with a modern twist.
It’s a great restaurant if you are a fish or meat eater. The food was delicious but there were no vegetarian or vegan choices on the menu. Also, the drinks from the bar are priced a little high so it’s not the kind of restaurant you would go to and relax at the bar.
great food and service
seating options are varied and well spaced
Great food and beautiful decor. I loved the salmon
This restaurant gets an A+ for ambiance and great attitude of the servers! The decor is truly fabulous! The cuban band added great energy and charm! Our server was very personable and positive and worked EXTREMELY hard. In fact we felt bad for him as we could see him running his tail off the entire night. Im sure the restaurant was understaffed. The food we ordered did take a while to come out, but that was ok as our waiter was on top of making sure our drink situation was well taken care of. When the food came out, my husband pork was very overcooked and they had run out of mash potatoes and put french fries, instead, on my friend's carne asada plate, which was a surprise to even our waiter when he saw it. Seeing french fries definitely downgraded and upscale meal. The dinner was expensive, so you expect the food to be done correctly. The chili rellenos was very good. My friend said the chicken mole was "ok." The chicken portion looked pretty small. I would go back again because of the great atmosphere and herculean effort of our server, who salvaged what could have been a not great experience.
Love the food and service. Live band was good but a bit loud for conversation. We still enjoyed ourselves and the food was so good, we will go again.
This was the 2nd time we dined at Bandolero. There were four of us, each with different entrees that did not disappoint. The most impressive was the ahi tuna entree, and the duck empanada as a small starter. We’ll be back!!
We could have done without the music. The live entertainment was placed too close to the tables.
I love the music and ambience, but it was dreadfully warm Friday night and I was seated inside. Please keep the restaurant cooler.
We have come a few times and had friends in town and the food and service were not what we are used to
We had a wonderful experience - guacamole, tuna and plantain tart were fabulous and the freshest margaritas ever! Live music was fun and really added to the ambiance. Great time!
Very good restaurant. Been there twice now. Only complaint is that for a restaurant of this quality they should make to order their guacamole in the kitchen or do it table side. Guacamole was not fresh. Drinks and food excellent!
Our waiter came to our table 3 times before taking a drink order or introducing himself as our waiter. The first table we were seated at wobbled so much a drink couldn't be placed on it without spilling. They put us at another table and it was so small that our plates and glasses wouldn't fit so they brought another table over next to us to place things on.
When I placed my order the waiter grimaced at me because I ordered 2 side dishes as my meal. He actually made a face. We were there for more than 2 1/2 hours. Riciculous.
