Why did it take me so long this discover this wonderful restaurant; the service was very good and the food too good to be true; not your typical Mexican restaurant but food with flair and an excellent flavor profile; so many choices to choose from, I will definitely come back soon
Excellent food and fabulous entertainment.
It was such a fun experience. Eating and listening to a live band playing Cuban music!
The mushroom enchiladas were very bland and overpriced. The salsa is average. Lot better choices in valley for Mexican food. The chicken enchiladas were the only good dish I had.
We had a small meal, so not much to judge. Two different margaritas, both fine. One of us got a soup and a salad. She liked them, but they both seemed ordinary to me. I got a corn-mushroom enchilada, which was a total disappointment. I didn't know what it would be stuffed with but I was up for anything vegetarian. First, I couldn't cut it! I asked for a steak knife. I mean, I could not cut it at ALL with ordinary silverware. The waiter quickly took the plate away and shortly brought out a steaming new dish with apologies. Okay, I was prepared to ignore that mishap. But in hindsight, that plate should never have left the kitchen. How long does it take to become too hard to cut with a knife? The redo was fine. Not exciting, not even especially enjoyable. Whatever it was stuffed with (some odd sort of fungus?) was negligible. It was almost like a hollow tortilla (three small rolls) swimming in a nice sauce. Nope, I won't return. Granted, it was a small order and a small test. But basically, we wanted Mexican food. Most of the menu items did not seem to be Mexican.
Amazing experience! The live music was amazing and our waitress, Mary, was super attentive and friendly. We went for my dad’s 50th and we could not have picked a better place to celebrate.
Great atmosphere and good food!
Loved the ambience, their decor is simply beautiful!! Food was presented really well and tasted delicious too. In the mahi mahi tacos I ordered, the fish was fried perfectly crispy. We just love deserts, cannot stop at one.. so ordered 2 - a flan and the churros. Yummy is the word! Now to the minor negatives I thought - nothing against live music, but I thought it was too loud. We sat at the bar, our server was very sweet, but had to be reminded of things.
Nevertheless, highly recommended!!
We wanted to try something new and were looking for traditional Mexican cuisine in an elegant atmosphere and were not disappointed! Everything was wonderful--the food, the elegant ambiance, and our server (Octavio, who was delightfully attendant but never rushed us, checking in to ensure we had all we may have wanted). We went on the weekend when they have a trio playing, and they were excellent! Our only complaint, if there had to be one, is that the music was too loud for dinner conversation. We found ourselves shouting over the table (and I love loud music). There are tables further in the back, and some in a beautiful patio, which may supply the fix here. Yet in all we absolutely loved our experience and will definitely be back!!!
Very good food, drinks and service. Band was too loud for dinner hour.
The only reason this isnt a straight 5 star review is because of the service. They were obviously behind, it was slow for our drink order to be taken, water to be filled, etc…BUT José took great care of us when time permitted. He was doing just about everything around the restaurant and trying his very best to make up for the service. The food is OUTSTANDING! Authentic, delicious, price is on point. The spicy mango margarita was by far the best margarita I have had in loooong time, on the flip side they were small for the price. The ambiance is classy & great for a date night. All in all, my fiancé and I were extremely impressed by everything it had to offer. We will definitely be back because there are numerous items on the menu that we need to try!
Eclectic newly opened restaurant with a unique menu.
This was my second time coming to Bandolero and I really enjoyed. I came here with my co workers this time and we decided to sit inside near the live music which I really recommend. The service is good. The ambiance is nice. I would definitely come back again.
Best service ever!!!! Loved every second here
Excellent blend of Spanish and Mexican cuisine. The food was delicious and the live entertainment was great!
Delicious once again! Tres Leches for dessert a must, and music is magical!
Great ambience with even better food. The spicy margaritas were amazing
Everything about the experience except the ambiance was terrible. The table was terrible the service was awful they were way understaffed the food was just gross. The ribs were all fat and were not the way described . Chicken enchilada boring salsa bland. Margaritas couldn’t even taste tequila. Nothing good to say
Loved the live music! Resturant was charming and the food delicious. The waitress was attentive and we are looking forward to returning.
We felt a bit rushed. The server was excellent, but he was too eager to get food orders in, we felt that we were rushed a bit. Food is good but slightly overpriced.
Such a great spot. Beautiful inside and food was great. I had the fish tacos and they were delish. Portions are HUGE!!!!! Please go and support this local business
The food was wonderful! The music outstanding and so fun! We enjoyed a wonderful evening!
Overall, my family and I enjoyed the experience and food. The food was definitely way above average, and the prices were very reasonable. The sauces and seasoning were excellent. Only complaint was the service, but it was not a deal breaker. I will definitely go back!
Service wasn't great at the bar, servers were very friendly but they seemed understaffed. Also, the doors were left OPEN while the band played which made the restaurant VERY hot!
Angel was a superb server.
Sirloin order was fabulous.
The 2 chicken enchilada with pumpkin sauce orders were fairly good but not inline with the otherwise excellent experience 🙂
Bandolero is absolutely amazing. The staff treated us like family and the food was delicious. There was a live band playing while we had dinner, which was so fun! The decor is beautiful, very romantic. I will definitely be returning soon!
Outstanding from top to bottom. Great venue. Elegant, but not stuffy. Fantastic service from Octavio, including some dinner recommendations (and one or two dishes he felt weren’t up to par).
Sat outside on the patio near the live music entertainment. Even though it was 100 degrees out, the misters kept us very comfortable.
A couple of specialty margaritas (prickly pear and watermelon) to start off were delicious and not overwhelming in sweetness. Delicious.
The menu is more eclectic and traditional Mexican food. If you’re looking for TexMex, this isn’t it. Although they have guacamole, two taco dishes (served more like fajitas) and two enchilada dishes, the entrees aren’t anything like TexMex. Which, in my opinion, is a good thing. I can get tacos and burritos anywhere.
My spouse ordered the pork ribs. Not what you’re thinking. Meaty ribs to be cut off the bone, with mashed potatoes and a tamarind sauce that was tangy/sweet. Huge portion.
I had the Mole de Cerdo… pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon in a mole sauce. Deep rich dark brown almost black mole. Delicious. Accompanied with a side of Mexican rice and plantains that were fantastic.
Visually, these two entrees were absolutely gorgeous in presentation and did not disappoint in taste. Portions are plentiful.
For dessert we shared the tres leches cake, which had fresh apple shavings (think of spaghetti texture and shape) on top. Also a stunning presentation.
There are plenty of seafood, steak, pork and chicken options on the menu. I hate restaurants that have limited entree selections or where I can barely find one entree to my liking. This wasn’t the case. I was torn between three or four choices.
Even though we live here full time, we felt like we were vacationing in a foreign country. The atmosphere, the dinner presentation, the taste…and yes, the music. All outstanding.
One of the best restaurants in the Phoenix area. A great experience. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return.
Service was very so so. Went for an anniversary and the waiter showed up with the bill at the end of denned with 2 drops of champagne
Beautiful restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing. The steak and shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes was to die for. My margarita was very sour and they somehow messed up a gin and soda. Service was terrible, for a party of 10, our server barely checked in. Took almost an hour to get our drinks. Then another 30 mins later they dropped chips and salsa and our food at the same time. No follow up check in, had to ask other employees multiple times where our server was just to get water refills. Would definitely go back for the food and ambiance, but hesitant on the service.
Our experience was horrible from beginning to end. We were seated without enough menus, waited for 20+ minutes to have our drink order taken and then another 15+ to have our food order taken, and we had to ask someone other than our server to take our order. When our order arrived, one meal was missing. By the time the meal arrived (incorrectly) everyone else had finished their meals. The server lied about how the meal was supposed to be, after being told he was wrong, he brought the rest of the order, clearly having lied previously. He then brought "drinks on the house" and then later tried to charge us for them. He forgot to deliver the dessert we ordered. The whole experience was absolutely horrible.
Restaurant week dinner was very good. Ample portions. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Live music an added bonus.
Very busy and popular place - consequently kitchen backed up, so service between courses was spotty.
Fantastic food and atmosphere definitely a do over
It was close to being great, but just didn't quite get there.
The atmosphere was very nice, the food was amazing. My only complaint was the margaritas.....it’s a Mexican restaurant....your margaritas should be your signature! They were so sour with too much lime juice they were un drinkable. I sent the 1st one back and the replacement was good, ordered a second and again un drinkable. I didn’t feel like explaining it again to the same bartender so I just left it sit. The couple next to us said the same thing.
Great service and ambiance, we really enjoyed the live music. Little disappointed with food, ceviche had no flavor and only 4 shrimp on a salad, enchiladas were good but beans and rice are not homemade. Very tasty drinks, spicy mango margarita.
Saw @WelcometoArizona's post about this spot and had to check it out! Great set up they have, I love the décor. I went earlier at 4pm and left after 7pm, and it was really picking up then! Live music, tables were full! They are changing the menu soon and I’m looking forward to seeing what they add to the menu – I hope more shareables/appetizers. Great drink happy hour, but my recommendation is to add some food happy hour options too!
First time for our group of four to take in Bandolero!! Absolutely worth the tasty and delightful experience! We’ll return soon for sure!

When we FINALLY were served our dinners, they were tasty. The server had forgotten to send our ticket to the kitchen, so even after well over an hour, when the food was finally delivered, we never received the appetizers we had ordered.
The server was appropriately apologetic (in his defense, he was waiting on two very large tables of diners around the same time). But looking back on it, one of our two dinners should have been comped by the restaurant, IMHO--especially since we didn't even get to try the appetizers we had ordered.
We may give the restaurant a second chance since we did indeed enjoy our entries (beef tacos and red snapper), but can't really recommend it given our experience.
Not your typical, "street food" Mexican fare - much more bespoke with delicate flavors. Delicious, well prepared and presented. Generous portions. Chocolate Tequila - terrific! Our mindsets
