It had availability at the last minute and was easy to find and park. The staff seemed busy and overwhelmed, but nice. The food was decent, but nothing amazing or special. Somewhat limited menu.
Outside seating had comfortable seats (padded) & distance from other tables was good. It was a cool evening & they turned on a heater for us. Food was great - loved the butternut squash soup & the goat cheese appetizer. for dinner, the pork, broccoli & polenta were my favorite! The apple tart with ice cream was delicious. No crumbs left on anyone’s plates.

Food was excellent...service was very good. Only downside was options were few due to scaled back menu...due to COVID.
Had a delicious meal here during DineOut Boston -- food was tasty and artfully presented. Really enjoyed!
Pasta was not homemade - I could have made the pasta dish. Missing homemade fusilli pasta and ricotta.
Menu is not very inspired.
We thought that given the location, the outdoor seating would face the water on the side of the restaurant. Instead, it is in the auto entrance to the hotel. You get to see hotel guests going and coming by car. Not so interesting. The food, drink, and service were just fine. When we are willing to eat inside we might be back.
Food was cold, never saw our waitress to ask about heating up my oatmeal. Bacon tasted like fish. Don’t recommend.
Staying at the hotel so went there for convenience and was pleasantly surprised based on some of the other reviews I read. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was very good. They had live music, which was a little too loud, but the gentleman had a good voice.
I was expecting a much better menu. It is possible we encountered a downgraded covid menu. I don't recommend unless they chsnge.
For such a limited menu, you would think they would be really good at it. Apps and dinner lacked flavor, and portions were meh for the price. Perhaps this was a better place before the pandemic, but as of today, it is an over-priced hotel restaurant.
They were clearly understaffed and had limited their menu. The food did not arrive hot nor did the coffee for breakfast the next morning. The chicken Parmesan was a huge disappointment, it looked and tasted like something from a fast food restaurant, a microwave meal. The salmon and asparagus was delicious and was what made the meal enjoyable for one of us.
Ate outside & the seats were very comfortable (cushioned). Food was great, had oysters, fried calamari + another appetizer. The steak frites were cooked perfectly, the extra asparagus was very tasty& lobster roll was enjoyed. The warm banana bread dessert was also eaten & no one left anything on their plates. A couple people had drinks & liked them as well.
I showed up for my reservation 5 minutes early. Basically waited for someone to acknowledge me at the door for at least 15 minutes. We ended up leaving.
Very short staffed and the experience suffered because of it. The staff that was on did a great job of juggling all the tables while bartending, but things were very slow. Multiple tables had to get up and find someone to request their check. Food was ok. Nothing to write home about. Overall disappointed. Expected a much better experience based on the beautiful concept and ambience.
Our room was very comfortable other than the music coming from the courtyard on Friday evening.. the music played late into the evening delaying our ability to fall asleep.. thank you..
Gabriel was our server and he has always been great- warm and hospitable, helpful and so professional. It was our first time back at Bambara since pandemic. We usually go early so we were the only ones in the restaurant! Food was great but menu was limited bc of a wedding occurring at the hotel. [our entrees of chicken Parmesan w salad & and burger with ‘thick cut’ fries were scrumptious]. We each had a drink from the bar and they always seem weak or watered down.
Great food and especially delicious appetizers! Would definitely come back.
This restaurant was the subject of part of a TV show recently on PBS, and with a guest coming we decided to eat there -- on a Sunday evening, in late April (masked, of course).
Not only was the service excellent -- from two rounds of superb hors-d'ouevres through dessert, including wine (beer for one of us three).
We each chose something different -- all very creative pasta dishes, generous, and just enough "out of the ordinary" to make them interest as well as very tasty. I had buccatini, e.g., and the tomato sauce was light and made with fresh tomatoes.
We had panna cotta for dessert -- the very best I have ever eaten (and I am ... some decades ...old. My wine was on the low price end, but a very fine malbec.
When the friend visits again, we shall return to Bambara.
Menú online and in front of restaurant were not what was offered. I also left a note to bring out a cake for my boyfriend and they never did. So obviously they don’t read the note section.
Nice place. Friendly staff and excellent food, but the atmosphere lacked a little bit, as there were a couple of parties with kids running around the place (presumably staying at the hotel).
Bambara always serves excellent food in a comfortable atmosphere.
Everything was amazing, including the awesome background music which was at just the right volume!
Great food. Loved everything especially the garlic knots.
Food was just not what i expected. An Italian eatery and the only Italian food was the dessert. For the cost it seemed a little over priced for what we got.
The ambience was good and seatings were standard.. The noise level was high because of open kitchen. Overall good experience but, compared to price, quantity of food was less. Being vegetarian there was less options.
Great service and excellent calimari!
Came here for my birthday dinner and as usual receive so much love from this team. Everyone from servers to bartenders to the chef is welcoming. The restaurant is rarely full these days due to COVID, but that is just another reason we love dining here. They have a variety of table styles from booths to high tops. You can make reservations until 8pm on Open Table.
The bar is well stocked with local and speciality liquors. The restaurant is doing a Italian pop-up/takeover currently and so you'll see different types of Negronis on the menu. The cocktails change seasonally, so do come back for different recipes.
The dishes are always simple, yet beautiful and delicious. Chef Baz is incredibly talented and is always kind enough to create or modify a dish to make it vegan. The pasta and vegetables are so fresh. Don't miss the soup (whatever it is on the menu). It's my favorite thing to order whether it's mushroom or minestrone. It's often plant based or easily modified.
Don't miss a stop here. It's our quiet Cambridge go-to.
Wonderful service. Accommodating and generous. Comped an extra dessert in consideration of a delay. Food was beautifully preset during delicious. Great attention safety and an all around great evening.
Completely new take on eggplant parm - the best I have ever had!
You won’t be disappointed!! Food is outstanding. This is our new go to restaurant.
COVID dining is weird. The setup is in the same area where cars pull up to pick up or drop off hotel guests, so the background noise is often an idling car. We came early to avoid the cold of the evening, and as the only diners at the time we opted to play music from a phone to dial up the ambiance a touch, which worked fairly well. But the food was great (the burrata was too good to have just one round), as were the drinks, so we greatly enjoyed it despite the unusual setting.
Hi Julie, We certainly agree that COVID dining is weird. We know the limitations within our outdoor courtyard space and are glad you were able to make the best of it with a little extra ambience. Thank you for the kind words on the meal and service. Best, Amanda M General Manager
Love the food !
Bambara is now doing a pop up in its restaurant called Capalbos and it is absolutely delicious! My party and I didn’t have one complaint and we all would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be going back again real soon!!
So appreciated! Thanks for the great review. Cant wait to see you again- Chef Baz
Best Italian that I have ever had. Great service, more people need to know about this great spot.
Wow what and incredible review! We are so grateful. Hope to see you again soon! -Chef Baz
It was cool to see a pop up concept at Bambara. I think that adds a fun element to an established restaurant. The ribs were out of this world! And the RBG inspired cocktails.
My family and I loved this place. The food was excellent! The pork chop was insanely good, with everything else closely behind it! For those concerned about covid exposure, they were extra diligent with plenty of well spaced seating both inside and outside. We will be back!
Good food, well spaced tables, friendly service, recommended.
The bread and honey butter was amazing. Ended up ordering 2
