Balter Beerworks is a scratch kitchen brewpub located in downtown Knoxville. We offer a welcoming environment that celebrates craft beers and made from scratch food. Every bite and every sip at Balter is crafted daily from scratch, using the freshest ingredients available. We are constantly refreshing food and beer menus to highlight seasonal delicacies. Balter offers a place for friends and family to reconnect in a space that weaves urban aesthetics with the history of an old service station.

    Still trying to figure out why we got an email saying we were not there when we were....but the app says "reservation completed". Technology. Can't live with it, can't live without it. Anyway, a great experience once again, and our server Chris (who we ask for) was amazing as usual. Thank you for another great experience. We will be back.

    The service and food wasn’t great. The only decent food that our table enjoyed was the fried green tomatoes. The cheeseburger was okay but do not recommend the fish tacos or the Mediterranean inspired bowl. Service wasn’t much better- I asked for a beer when our food was dropped off and was told we would have to let or server know. Overall I would not recommend.

    Everyone is wonderful except the woman working the host stand. Both times I’ve been there she has been rude and unaccommodating.

    Sat outdoors on the patio had a wonderful food and service experience. Entrées are very reasonable. The burgers were outrageously good. Our server Trace was fantastic. Very attentive and very friendly. We just had a great experience with great friends.

    Excellent food. Excellent service. Nice outdoor seating Best fried green tomato dish ever . Really nice beer cheese soup with grilled cheese sandwich. Excellent salad with salmon. Beer great too. And a charming friendly server

    Had dinner when visiting my boys who attend UT. Was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t just bar food! The menu is diverse with lots of choices. We had salmon, burgers, and chicken. Everything was delicious. The burger was cooked to perfection as well as the french fries.
