What Insiders Are Saying
Baltaire is the only steakhouse in Brentwood, so naturally it's filled with studio execs throwing down their corporate cards.
The experience of entering the restaurant on Saturday night in early December was like walking into a fun, welcoming Holiday Party. Everyone (20’s-80’s) was having a grand time. I met lovely people while waiting for my friend and without ordering a drink. ( would have ordered one had I been approached by a waiter)
Stellar meal - Crab Louie Dover Sole and Brussels Sprouts all perfect and beautifully split for the two of us.
Despite the noise the dinner was relaxing and festive.
The perfect start to the Holiday Season.
The service keeps getting worse each time. Our server should have been working at Denny’s. Ruined a company dinner with the terrible service. I will never go back again! Clearly they dont care anymore.
Very good steak. Energetic atmosphere. Extremely loud.
We love coming here. It's local for us, so we can walk. It's a nice place to come for a special date night treat.
Excellent food and top notch service.
The music is so loud that you have to scream at the person sitting next to you to eat dinner.
I won't return The waitress said they like it that loud but people around us all shook their heads.
The food, the drinks, the service were all perfect and fairly valued given their quality. However the room which should be very comfortable was just too loud for easy conversation across the table even as our late evening meal wound down into a near empty restaurant.
Passing the bar
Service was exceptional. Food was very good but very overpriced. Sit on the outside patio as it's a lot quieter and really beautiful. Just not worth the exorbitant prices.
Good but overpriced
New York Strip with a side of Mac and cheese from Baltaire is now the best meal I have ever eaten
It is one of the most expensive restaurants in Los Angeles but my chicken dish was a overcooked mass of mostly boney chicken parts. To pay $40 for inedible chicken sucks. I went home and ate a bag of beef jerky. The restaurant itself was beautiful and you should probably only order a steak here which will set you back a car payment.
Somehow the food falls short of the beautifully described menu. From a kalamata dip that tasted like a glorified onion dip to a mac and cheese that really failed to deliver. The service was top notch though it was sad that one of the items that was just tasted was not taken off the bill. The bread was delicious but all other items were truly forgettable. Let's hope that in the future the food lives up to the stylish setting - right now it is just above the Cheesecake Factory that used to be in the same space.
Beautiful dining room, attentive service, excellent meats. Came here to entertain an out-of-town guest and wanted someplace meat-centric that didn't feel stodgy but also didn't feel like a night club. Baltaire hit the spot. I was warned about the sky-high prices, so as long as you know what you're paying, then you can get on with ordering and enjoying. Meats were all cooked to perfection, and sides were all delicious. If any criticism could be leveled at the food, they're a tad heavy with the salt on all dishes (especially the brussel sprouts). Service was very attentive and polite. We were seated in the convertible enclosed outdoor space on a chilly night, but the heaters were on full blast and roasting, so we asked if they could be turned down. The server obliged and asked what level we wanted them set at, and we dined comfortably for the remainder of the meal.
The stake aged New York with the bone ($75) was horrible a lot of fat and dry meat
When we complained to the waiter no one came to talk to us
No, THEY JUST BROUGHT THE CHECK
Food was good, overpriced though.
Incredible food and service
Great / Fun Bar - Good food - Atmosphere for dinner: LOUD
noisy, neurotic, pretentious, overpriced, mediocre food, less than average ambiance
Great service and ambiance. The food was delicious and our waiter was awesome.
The best steak I've had in Los Angeles. Service was also very good. Attentive but not overbearing.
Excellent food and outstanding service
My experience at Baltaire was actually very bad. I took my friend there for his birthday after bragging about what a great restaurant Baltaire was for the food, service and music. I was greatly disappointed when things went south, from the table we were seated at, to the timing between our food and the lack of service from our waiter. Every single order we put in took a long time to reach our table. Not to mention that even when I noted that this was a birthday dinner, nobody took the courtesy to acknowledge my friend's birthday or to even offer a dessert for the occasion. I've been to Baltaire a couple of times before and had a great experience, but this time, I was completely disappointed and I probably wont be coming back any time soon. Very low quality of service for such a high end restaurant.
Go there for your mom's 77th birthday and ask for Lenore. Period. She is fantastic. The restaurant is beautiful and the meal is special enough to celebrate a life well-lived for 77 years. Thank you so very much.
Food was great, service really slow despite it being nearly empty, and it’s WAAAY overpriced. Still a 4, but not higher.
At this price level food and service should be flawless.....that was not our experience. Steaks were over / under cooked, sides were listless, and the wait staff seemed unfocused. The jazz band in the bar made the dining room uncomfortably loud. The wine list is extensive, but offers no bargains: corkage is $45. We were not charged for one uneaten steak at our table, which we appreciate. Not recommended.
Nobody in our party of 8 was absolutely blown away by this place. Pity because it's such a nice looking restaurant.
Great Service. Thank you for making my experience so wonderful. Everyone was nice and professional and still had character and personality. Food was great! I was so full! I will definitely come back 🎉
Went to celebrate a friend's birthday for lunch . Had a great time . Ambiance fabulous, food very good, presentation creative., service good. A bit pricey, but worth it. Look forward to going back for dinner soon.
Amazing delicious food. Everything was absolutely amazing.
Ryan was the best!! Had a lovely experience !!
Amazing brunch, the steak was sensational, and the vibes were even better. We had a phenomenal experience.
The most amazing service, quite fancy, definitely dress up, expect to spend some money, one of the highlights of our trip.
Friends came in from the east coast and wanted a nice dinner on the west side. Normally we would have chosen a place in Beverly Hills, but I had an amazing dinner at Baltaire just weeks before and I wanted to see if they could repeat. They exceeded my expectations. It was not cheap, but it was absolutely delicious!
Great food - kid friendly - free birthday dessert - could not ask for more
My and guests and I were treated well. Both Lauren and Tiffany, our servers were very attentive and very accommodating. We had a wonderful time and excellent food.
Love Baltaire for lunch -- but NOT for dinner. Way too loud. Just don't like it at all as an evening dinner date. The bar is fun at night but the restaurant lacks atmosphere at night and any atmosphere that there may be is drowned out by bad acoustics.
I also have a great tasting meal here, whatever I order off the menu is excellent. My only complaint is their wine choices by the glass but that is highly personal. I think the food is much better than Mastros and the environment is quiet and appropriate for this level of dining. Dont touch plates or you will be burned.
Steak was cooked well. Vegetables had too much cumin. overall very nice atmosphere and comfortable chairs. A little expensive but a decent night out for a special occasion
