Fresh pita was lovely, the house hummus was delicious. Lamb chops were seasoned and cooked well. The drinks were good too. The swordfish was dry and overcooked. FYI they *will* tell you that you’ve met your allotted 2 hours of dining and it’s time to vacate the table. So plan accordingly if you want to have multiple courses.

We had an amazing ladies brunch yesterday. Our waitress was fantastic and attentive. She kept the bottomless flowing! If I could have a complaint it would be that there were no appetizers available and we had to ask for the balos chips which were phenomenal. All in all a wonderful experience.

I don’t write many reviews, but every now and then, a place completely earns it and Balos Estiatorio in DC absolutely did. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was just right. The hostess team was not only strikingly elegant but genuinely warm and welcoming setting the tone for what would become one of my top five first-time dining experiences, right up there with Le Bernardin in NYC and Lewis Barbecue in Charleston. (Anyone who has been to both will know what i mean) Our waiter, Nico, was a gem. Friendly without being pushy, knowledgeable without pretension, and clearly passionate about the food and the Greek culinary tradition. It felt like we were in expert hands from the start. Now for the food: this was not your average Greek fare, it was elevated, thoughtful, and full of soul. Im just gonna say Pita.....and wow! I’ve had babaganoush before, but this was the first time I genuinely loved it, it was smoky, silky, and addictive. The filo pastry was perfection, light and buttery with just the right crunch. Then came the stuffed peppers (a recommendation by Nico...because his mom used to make them when he was a kid, theyre great! Best selling point for a dish ive ever heard, had to order them.) They were, I mean beautifully done, I had to pause mid-bite just to take it in. And the filet? Impeccable. Seasoned with care, seared with precision, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. By the end, we couldn’t fit dessert if we tried, but the coffees (Americanos) were rich, bold, and the perfect close to an unforgettable meal. Tbh it feels like they're doing all the right things to be a Michelen star restaurant but they genuinely seem to care about your experience rather than any awards that come from it. Balos is a must-visit if you’re in DC and take your food seriously. I’ll be back, probably sooner than I should. Bravo to the whole team.

I made reservations for a Sunday Brunch- Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and seated. Our server, Julia was exceptional in providing an introduction to the menu, its selections and recommendations. She was very friendly and was cautious with the food (nut) allergy we mentioned. The martini's were absolutely amazing and the bar cart with experience that Michael (bartender)provided, was top tier! Price point for a party of 2 w/a 20% gratuity included was $350'ish + additional gratuity due to the exceptional service. Will return again on a Saturday night for the Greek experience vibes and libations.

I really enjoy my visits to Balos but would like to offer feedback that I believe the service could be improved. There have often been lengthy periods between the food and drink spacing where empty plates and glasses were left without offers to bring something new

Saw this restaurant on Instagram but was a little concerned that it would live up to the hype. We went on a Saturday evening at 7:30. So, we were in the crossover zone for when the place turns into a big party. Wish we would have came a bit later to fully experience the night club vibe. The decor is upscale and trendy. Great place for a date. Service was super quick and staff was friendly and helpful. Our waiter gave Siemens great recommendations and we were not disappointed once. We had the cheese plate which is served flaming at your table. The octopus and the seafood and rice dish with the walnut cake for desert. All were amazing. We also had the spicy hibiscus Margarita (wife) and smoked old fashioned. My wife is a bit picky and she was very pleased with everything. The live DJ music was a cool vibe. Lots of trendy people, (the IG crowd). Overall, I would highly recommend. We will be back!

The evening started off great with the hostess seating us in a “quieter” spot as I requested. And the waiter brought over champagne for everyone because it was in the records that our anniversary was recent(5/24) which was a very nice treat. And then he was very helpful with our menu selections. The dinner was delicious as always. And our friends will now be returning customers as well to Balos.

The ambience is really nice. Hostess and everyone else were very friendly and appreciate chef Hayden for coming in on his day off. Food was amazing. Highly recommend.
