Ballast Point - Downtown Disney
Mike was an excellent server, and gave great recommendations for our meal.
Best option in downtown Disney. Food is tasty! And...they have impossible protein.
The food (fish and chips) was terrible. There were 8 empty table around us. Yet people at the door were turned away. I had to make reservations 6 weeks out cuz your so busy. The fish was dry and seamed like it was already cooked and you just warmed it up.
We were in and out of there is 45 min. Our food came in less then 5 min. Felt rushed and I will not be going again, nor will I recommend it. Overpriced for the quality of food. Our waitress was great, but that's all you've got going for you.
Slow and inattentive
I made a reservation to eat here for March 31st at 7:15; we had no problems with the reservation, we checked in and were immediately taken to our table. The menu itself was not very impressive. it was rather short. The food that we ordered was also nothing special; I had the vegan tacos, husband had the mussels, sister had the Cesar salad and her boyfriend had the fish tacos. T he men at the table had multiple flights of beer that they enjoyed, but the food was sub par.
The service was also lacking; it took forever for our server to bring our drinks, we had to repeat our order to him and when we asked for a side of butter he became very uncomfortable and made it seem like we were making an impossible request. Which by the way, we never received that butter or an explanation as to why a restaurant would have trouble filling such a request.
If you're going to this place just for some beer, then fine, it's a great option. Don't expect anything else about this establishment to be great.
We left the Disneyland with our toddler in tow to have lunch and had outstanding service from beginning to end! The food was delish and of course the beer was on point! Highly recommended on any Disney trip - will go back every time!
Great beer and great food. I highly recommend it.
The bathrooms (at least the ladies bathroom) are WAY too small for the size of the establishment. Two stalls for an entire restaurant and two bars, not to mention there’s literally no room to queue if needed. For a place that specializes in beer, that shouldn’t have been an afterthought.
I love the beer and the food was a bonus. The mussels were especially good.
After we good past the curt and short personality of the downstairs hostess everything else was great. She is definitely not the person for the initial contact. There was no greeting at all and before we could say anything she cut me off with “we’re not excepting any walkins anymore tonight “ instead of finding out what we needed. We’ll go back just hope she’s not there thnx
We made a reservation a couple months in advance and our table was ready when we got there. The beer was great, the food was excellent, and we had an amazing waiter. Our waiter let us take as long as we needed to recharge before going back to Disneyland. He never rushed us and even helped us with our beer selections. Will be back for sure!
Reservations a must! The food is amazing and a wide selection of adult beverages. Must do after a long day.
We loved the beer and the appetizers, but the entrees were nothing special.
Newest restaurant at Downtown Disney, and if you don’t get a reservation, the bar area is first come, first serve. I was able to grab this reservation at 11:30. Perfect time, because you get first pick up the tables. The food was very good, but I felt that the fish and chips was definitely very pricey for what you get. Tons of fries, and three heavily battered fish. The vegan lettuce cups were delicious, but watch out for the spices! The flight of beers are very generous, but Stephen liked the Downtown Disney specifically made beer the best. With our 10% annual pass discount, the bill came to about $75
Great place, a little pricey for what it was
We made reservations 6 weeks ahead. We are Ballast Point fans and were looking forward to our experience. We checked in with a reservation and were sent upstairs, where we waited 5 minutes for anyone to greet us. There was no ambience in the table dining area, just plain tables. The service was mediocre. The server asked one of our party if they wanted avocado on their burger but it didn't come. The food arrived lukewarm and we had to send it back. The brioche bun tasted like Wonder Bread. The beer was very good as expected but it was double the price we pay at home. That is spendy even for Downtown Disney. We do not plan to return.
We had a great experience for our first visit there. One of us got the Ahi Poke appetizer as their meal after an endorsement from our server (great description) and we all agreed that it was the best thing on our table. Also got the steak burrito and fish and chips which were both really good and thoroughly enjoyed (fish used was mahi mahi which made it really good). The last dish was the cavatelli pasta which was really only so-so (sounded way better in the menu description than it actually tasted). The beers selected were good too. Overall a good experience until the bill came. They made an error in price on one of the items and it too FOREVER to get it sorted out and paid before we could leave. At that point we just wanted to get out of there and get back to Disneyland and it just took way too long to be able to leave. We had two kids with us which made it worse. We were literally standing up with our jackets and had to flag a manager to ask what was going on. Other than that, it was good and we'd definitely go again (and get that Ahi Poke again!).
They are a great brewery with a very wide selection of beers. The food is okay, there is definitely room for improvement. They may still have been working out the kinks when I was there. The server we had though seemed to have an attitude problem towards us, from the moment we sat down. She barely attended the table to fill drinks or inquire about the food. Give it another month or two and let them figure things out and then go.
Awesome service great beer
My husband and I loved this place! The stouts are amazingly delicious and wings are so good! We will definitely be back to try out more food and beer!
We had a 7:30 PM reservation and checked in at 7:00 PM to see if we could be seated early. We were greeted by Mike, who was not a host, but he immediately went to find one for us. Unfortunately, we couldn't be seated at 7:00 PM, but we returned at 7:20 PM and we were seated immediately 👍 someone came by and said they were not our server but they could get our drinks started. We ordered a two flights of beer and a couple glasses of water. Since we were ready to order, this person (I don't remember his name, but he was very friendly!) took our meal order as well. Our meals came before our beer flights (boo) and Mike (not-a-host Mike) came by to ask if we were doing okay. We said our beer flights hadn't come out yet and he immediately went to the bar and brought them to us. He also told us the best order to drink each flight, as well as gave us each another 4 oz. pour of his favorite beer, "on him". Overall, it was a really great dining experience with good food and excellent customer service. We will definitely be returning on a future trip 😊
Corinne our server was awesome and soo helpful!
Great beer lineup. Food is excellent. Very busy place.
Service was okay. She seemed a bit busy and had to wait for things we asked for. Wings were really good. We got the bourbon and brown sugar. As for my fish tacos they were lacking fish and sauce. Had more cabbage and tortilla than anything else. My fish was a big chunk. Elevator was broken which was a pain. Very small. Bar is bigger than restaurant. Not my fave place in Downtown Disney.
Food was great, food came fast, and atmosphere was fun.
Very nice facility, with an energetic and helpful server. Great beer selections for nearly all adult palates and a very nice selection of food.
Great food, great service, not loud like other Downtown Disney restaurants
One and done. Awful service, mediocre food & just all around not good. Should have known we were in trouble when we were told they were completely out of white wine. I realize this is a brewery but come on! know your audience. Tired Moms at Disneyland are always looking for a glass of wine. There are so many better choices in Downtown Disney. I won’t be back.
The atmosphere was great!! The food selection was okay. Not a big selection but it works for a bar setting. Would go back again for sure!
Good Beer Selection!!! Food is not bad but a little pricey. Make sure to have a reservation so you won't have to wait too long.
The food was outstanding. Loved the selection of beers. I could tell that servers were busy but they worked hard to help everyone in a timely manner.
Front hostess was rude and told us to go upstairs for open seating only to get out of line to find out the seating was full 30 mins prior.
First time dining at Ballast Point. We were unimpressed with the service and food quality. Ordered a pretzel as an appetizer and it came out with the rest of our food. Four of five meals were delivered. Waited for the fifth only to find the fish tacos weren’t prepared correctly. It was also very weird to be served water in glasses with water marks and no ice.
Overall, I was not quite satisfied with this Ballast point. My boyfriend and I had made reservation, and did not get our food for almost an hour! I ordered the California burrito, and I disliked that it had french fries inside, and barely and steak. We also noticed that the other table got their food earlier, and they had came in later than us(we had ordered almost the same foods). Overall I am giving this place 3 stars because of the beer selection and view. I must caution however, that the beer and food prices are more expensive because of the location. I love going to other Ballast Point locations, but overall I think that this Anaheim location just wasn't that great. Next time, we will just be heading over to DCA for burgers and beer!
Restaurant is made to churn people out and very loud. Food is pre made and flash heated. Over priced for a simple menu
Enjoyed getting together with friends here. Food was great and loved the many beer choices!
Delicious food, quick service, selection of beer that satisfies even the pickiest of drinkers. And, incredibly vegetarian friendly.
Making a reservation is the best! Especially if you know that you are going to Disney or want a date night. I booked about 2 days in advance, worth it. Service was amazing! Food was delicious! This was me and my boyfriend's second time. If you get lucky with finding self seating, props to you. They also have a beer garden too. The staff is amazing! They went out of their way to fix an error that was made. Highly recommended!
It’s not as good as the location in San Diego, but nice to have in Downtown Disney.
We highly recommend this to our craft beer friends on a Disneyland trip but only for drinks.
Great service!!! Good food and amazing beer !! My fiancé and I loved this place !!
