BALEEN - Naples
Awesome food and my wife’s and my favorite spot to eat in naples.
Lovely breeze on patio, really good food followed by a wonderful free dessert to honor our anniversary.
Great job on the re-decorating ... Whole new look ... Food and service were great.
The view and service were outstanding! The food was ok, but not for the price (over $300 for 3 people)!
Quality restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Outside seating (if requested and available, it is very popular) at dinner with the view of the sun setting over the Gulf is beautiful.
Great experience for our anniversary celebration dinner.
Very disappointed with our visit. Will not be back.
We all had the fish. 2 out of 3 were over cooked. It was supposed to be blackened. I thought the spice was just too heavy for the fish.
Perfect in every way. Mike P our server was great.
The server Natalia made my birthday dinner at Baleen very special. The mushroom risotto was wonderful and the scallops were delicious and very well prepared. My compliments to the chef. I will definitely return.
Called ahead and requested a table under the overhang outside to avoid the sun. That had to negotiated with a compromise on our part. Hostess didn't appear to care. Just sit here. Sweaty profusely server was frankly kind of gross when drinks and food where brought to us. He had tables all over the place including the beach. No wonder he was sweating. Swordfish was just okay. It wasn't that busy. I guess just bad luck on our part for a restaurant we've enjoyed many times before.
Great food and service . Unbeatable atmosphere
We were a group of 6 celebrating birthdays and anniversary. Our table was perfect, we had a beautiful view of the sunset. But that was the only good part of the night. The waiter told us about the specials for the night, which we ordered, but then came out to tell us they had run out of the special. they tried to substitute with a different fish which wasn’t any good to the point that the manager came out to apologize for the poor quality of food and informed us that he would not charge us for that particular meal. So The waiter then over charged us for 3 glasses of wine instead. Not their biggest fan right now.
Our first time dining here. It was the most perfect night and meal ! Friends from the East coast were visiting so we decided to bring them to Baleen. The service is spot on and every bite from our appetizer of mussels to our chocolate cake was a dining experience ! An an unforgettable evening !
This is our favorite spot and truly outstanding. The noise level was a little disturbing. How was service was excellent by Michael.
Beautiful spot for lunch overlooking the bay. Excellent service and delicious food, especially the French Fries! Plenty of fans and shade to keep you cool.
Many years ago, we used to love Baleen. Sadly, the restaurant is not the same. Our recent lunch experience there will likely be our last. Overall, our recent experiences have included unfriendly front desk staff, as though we were doing them a favor by coming to the restaurant. In this particular case, our waiter was just fine, however the servers were not. Our second course was brought before plates were cleared from our starter. Additionally, the server removed our cutlery, but did not bring replacements. We had to pay for bread ($2, so not a lot), but still, if we are paying for bread we'd at least expect it to be phenomenal at a place like Baleen. It was just average. The worst was that our fish tacos had completely oversalted guacamole. It was inedible, so we just at the top of the tacos. Appropriately, our waiter did comp our drinks, but still, at a place like Baleen, this should not have happened. (And, on our last visit, the Lobster Bisque was totally off. I sent it back, as did the table next to ours. The chef then acknowledged something was wrong with it). Overall, the view and setting are spectacular, which is why I gave a two rather than a one.
The view from Baleen was fantastic. Right on the beach and perfect for a romantic dinner. My food was very good but it is bit overpriced compared to other Naples restaurants. They charge for bread, which I think is quite stingy.
A little too casual dress and atmosphere allowed for mother’s day dinner. Thought it might be more gracious and elegant for a 5 star hotel.
Pricey but worth it. One of the best fine dinning restaurants in SWFL
Disappointed. Supposedly, this is a high-end restaurant, based on the price of the food. The food was good, but the service was exceptionally slow. The dining room looked like a diner with no linens on the tables; plus the ceiling was dropping water on us from air conditioning condensation. We won't be returning.
We were celebrating my birthday. Food was amazing and the view was spectacular that evening. We also had the most attentive, helpful, fun and personable wait staff. Adriano and Arlett were top notch!! Thank you!!
The Hostess with the long dreadlocks was extremely rude and had a poor attitude!!!!! Very offensive!!!!!
I haven't eaten outside in several years and I love the new decor and the food was outstanding. I had the tuna tartare and it was the best.
We would only recommend Baleen because of the nice outdoor setting, view and enjoyable sunset in the evening while dining. Not for the food. The gentleman at the indoor bar were very nice, as were the cocktails. But the service at dinner was harried and disorganized. And the food was not great, overly salty and greasy. If you want bread you have to order a large $8.00 platter of assorted breads that come with (among other toppings) this weird fishy white "spread." Not sure what the heck it was. But they could at least tell you when they bring it to the table. I thought it was cheese when I took some---but it was not! It was awful. I ordered grilled artichokes that came drowning in salt, cheese, and oil. Couldn't even taste the artichoke. The crab cake was the worst I've ever had. The one nice thing I will say, other than the fabulous setting and view, was a very lovely, tasty, and generous slice of key lime pie that was nicely presented to my husband for his birthday. That was super nice. Just wish the food was more appealing, especially for the price.
We had a 7;45 dinner reservation but all tables were full so we had a long wait because people wanted to stay at their tables for the sunset and I made a reservation for the sunset. The manager compensated us with a drink while we waited
Great night and meal on the patio looking at the beach and sunset
I have always enjoyed Brunch at Baleen. You are on the beach and could order from the menu. Not so this past Sunday. It was buffet only and the food was well buffet food. I was very disappointed.
Too hot to sit outside..ceiling fans not running...sat inside but there wasn’t much atmosphere..they should have some soft music playing so you don’t hear other conversations...food is very good and the service was fine. We were celebrating a 30 year anniversary and it wasn’t acknowledged at all...a bit disappointing overall.
Service was poor, cleanliness was poor, food was so so. View was wonderful
The gulf grouper with asparagus was phenomenal and our waiter was exceptional. Unfortunately my husband ordered a medium rare steak and it came out rare and he had some abdominal discomfort after the meal. Overall great experience.
Incredible outdoor dining space! Felt like I was in the Caribbean. Spectacular views of the Gulf. Service outstanding and food was very good,
Forced to eat inside as bugs were all over tables and glassware. Not their fault. Very sad !!!
Food excellent, crab cake on menu confusing due to two that ordered the entree thought a sweet potato was part of the lunch, very limited dish
Graciously served two desserts for our Birthday girl so the table of ladies could have a taste
Love the view
Breakfast is always wonderful at Baleen. Excellent food, incredible view. Friendly hostess & service. Cute sundry shop to stop at on the way out.
It was our actual Anniversary. The service and ambiance were good. The food was very disappointing! The appetizers and entrees were bland. It was a very expensive mediocre meal!
Great food...we had the blackened grouper and the local catch (snapper). Service was really good...we weren’t rushed at all. The view of the gulf and the sunset is awesome. While Baleen is expensive, it’s worth it for a special occasion.
Disappointed for the first time after many visits over 17 years. 2 person tables were added below the patio area and look like an after-thought. Push carts to and from the service area were going by. They were noisy and distracting. We were served our wine in stemless glasses. A big no-no for our party, especially in warmer weather when you don't want your wine heated up by your body temperature through your hands. Not sure we will return to Baleen.
Must be outside to appreciate the experience
Our server was amazing - food was fantastic (as usual) - and who can beat sitting at veranda table overlooking the Gulf of Mexico (looking over the beach)!
