If you're going to take your name from a badass like the patron saint of blacksmiths, you better be able to back it up. Baldamar marks the turning point where we usher in the new standard for style, service and steak. It means the menu’s made with old-world craft at its core and modern day meat eaters in mind — with flavors forged in fire and folded into pure primal perfection.     Great experience for brunch! Service was a little over attentive. Unless they were told to hurry us up, the wait staff probably should wait for the diner to place their forks down before trying to take the plate.

    We chose this restaurant for our son's college graduation meal. We went at 2:30, so the restaurant was quiet. Our server, JB, was excellent. He offered wonderful recommendations (i.e., the Bread of Life, and cocktails), and was fun to interact with. Everything was delicious. We'd recommend the Old Fashioned and the short rib grilled cheese sandwich! It's too pricey for our family to go regularly, but is a great special occasion restaurant.

    The food overall was far better than I was expected. We had a variety of appetizers and each was delightful. I had the pork shank. Frankly it was the best pork shank I ever ate. My wife had the sea bass and thought it terrific. My son’s steak was over salted in the kitchen. All in all a terrific place.

    I would definitely recommend this place especially for a special event like a birthday or anniversary. The staff are very welcoming and do an amazing job. The food is also very good, I would definitely get the truffle fries they are amazing. I will be coming back here for sure!

    This is our go to for date night! Without a doubt our favorite! Phillip was our waiter last night and did an amazing job!!! The Sea Bass is my go to everytime. We love this place!!

    I made a reservation for two but it ended up being a solo. My waiter and the staff were very attentive but not pushy. The food was excellent and portions appropriate. I felt satisfied but not stuffed. The options for each course covered anything I could have wanted. As I watched the staff buzz around I saw they worked like a well oiled machine to take care of all of the diners. Positive interactions seemed to be the normal. Will definitely go back.

     Very disappointed in the wedge salad probably one of the worst I’ve had in a restaurant. I had the chimichurri hanger steak, which was super tough and hard to chew but worse than anything, a member of our party is going through cancer treatments and needed some simple food. The kitchen couldn’t prepare anything clean and unseasoned… just a plain grilled chicken breast would have been fantastic - but was told no such thing existed- all the chicken was bright in dusted or marinated. She ordered mashed potatoes, which was a bowl of goop filled with cheese, cream, garlic and we’re not sure what else but so far from real mashed potatoes. Really sad …. I like the place and was hoping for so much more.  Our server Kevin was wonderful btw.

    Our waitress Denise was so friendly, caring and attentive. I can’t say enough about what a truly wonderful experience of our brunch . The cocktails were phenomenal, and the food was extraordinary unique and tasty! Great variety of courses. The GM Michael was so interested that everything was just right. We will definitely be spreading our reviews to all our family and friends. We will be returning for every celebration we have! Great job staff! We loved it!

    spent our anniversary there. Wonderful meal, ambience, Server- Ben, Michael, the manager checked to make sure all was well and our experience was what we expected and that we were happy. Food was excellent. What more can you ask. Great night. Well worth it.

    Our waitress was great! Highly recommend the tuna poke for an App, wish there was a few more chips with it though. The asparagus, Brussel sprouts and twice baked potato were delicious. Carrot cake for dessert was huge!!! Hubby's Ribeye was very good, my braised short ribs were good, not sure it’s worth the $$, don’t think I’d order it again. I had purchased gift cards that came with bonus $$, didn’t realize the bonus $$ has an expiration but she still honored it. I appreciated that.

    Wow! This is the first new authentic steak restaurant in the Twin Cities in years. Opened pre-pandemic, but persevered. From the host to wait staff to manager checking in periodically, the service wad EXCELLENT. Food even better. Highly recommend.

    Our server was outstanding! She had a good number of support staff which was at times too helpful. We were asked multiple times if certain dishes could be removed from our table which we actually were using for dipping our entrees in. 😜 In turn it felt like we were being rushed.

    We tried Baldamar for the first time to celebrate our sons birthday. We were very happy with our experience. The restaurant is beautiful. Our server was Amanda and she did an amazing job. Wow. She knew the menu well and was helpful with suggestions and super friendly. Our food was awesome. We started with the Bread is Life, so good. An order of calamari, and the scallops. The scallops were some of the best I’ve had in a long time. I had the miso sea bass which I will go back and back again for! Everyone’s steaks were very very good and my husband had the Wagyu steak, next level. We shared truffle fries and spicy lobster Mac and cheese. All great! We ended the night with the Half baked Joe mud pie. It was a huge ice cream cake with cookie and brownie and hot fudge. Need I say more. We look forward to eating there again. It’s a new favorite place.
