   My $65 steak had significant fat and gristle! The 'roasted vegetables' tasted like they were reheated from the day before. I will not be going back:(

   We were excited to visit this restaurant . We were headed to a concert in johnstown and made reservations. We waited 35 minutes to get acknowledged at our table by our server and another 10 minutes to get water. FOOD WAS GOOD.I oredered two drinks at one time because they were so slow. Our waiter was hustling , so i am not sure what the problem was... if it was lack of staff ?The hostess was wandering around... i'm thinking maybe give her a bit more responsibility/ customer service training.. like greeting people ,getting water, at least say " we are backed up , please be patient" or something like that could have decompressed the situation.

   Waited 45 minutes to get drinks. Bartender wouldnt make a Long Island isle tea. Seriously understaffed on a big concert night. They served my wife’s drink in a glass that was cracked the whole way around.

   Food was great, however, we were very disappointed in where we were seated since we made a reservation weeks in advance. We were seated beside an exit door and told that they could not move us because there were “reservations.” Meanwhile, a better placed table sat empty the entire time we were there.

   The food was extraordinary but the service was poor. We had a reservation and waited nearly 20 minutes to be seated. We ordered cocktails and it took 30 minutes to get them. The second round was 20 minutes to receive. The server kept apologizing saying they were short-staffed. Unlikely we will return. No excuse to wait 20-30 minutes to get drinks.

   My husband and I were delighted with every aspect of our dinner experience at Balance Restaurant. The patio, where we dined, was charming, as was the wait staff. My Balance Bowl was a delicious mix of vegetables and grains. My husband's Sweet Thai Salmon was very good--the salmon was perfectly cooked. We will happily return to Balance, for the ambience, food, and service.

   Restaurant in central Johnstown PA just off the central park with it's commemorative markers and fountain. One of very few restaurants open at the time. Seated in bar area which I have to admit might slant this review. Food was abundant but unremarkable. 3-way bacon appetizer would have made a meal in itself but was very dry, very cooked so that the strips shattered upon biting, and had little flavor as promised except heavy spiciness. Veal Diane was sliced into over cooked, bite sized pieces buried under a mound of cold vegetables and awash in a obvious commercial jar of brown gravy with the bone erected as a grave marker in the middle of the plate. I ordered a Prosecco and the server asked if I wanted a lemon slice; I just smiled and said "no." That turned out to be a harbinger of what followed.

    After many years, still our go-to place. Menu options, both the changing as well as the stand by items, always crafted to meet a diners needs.
