Excellent food and great experience
Service was good, food was great and I love the space.
Unadvertised limited Prix Fix menu, poor service
Good food, great service, a really cool place to dine!
The food and service were excellent! Our server was very polite and attentive. We did miss the great brownie sundae that’s no longer on the menu.
Dined there Saturday evening. The restaurant interior (and exterior) is attractive. The inside has a clean and open appearance. Tables are spaced nicely not bunched together. Service was very good. We were seated right away and our server Kelly was excellent. She was very attentive even though the restaurant was full and she had several other tables to wait on. The wine offerings by the glass were limited but Cab I chose was very good. My only negative comment would be regarding the food. The food was the usual sports bar variety, greasy burgers (so, so) and fried chicken (good). I guess I was expecting a little more. I ordered a rib eye steak (Medium) that was over done and I will leave it at that.
Atmosphere and service are excellent. Quality and tenderness of meats is very inconsistent
Love this restaurant for the atmosphere. Been there a couple of times. Food is great but I thought the service lacked a little this time. We received out appetizers about 2 minutes before our main meal. It also took a long time just to get our soft drinks. Other that they experience was good
An enjoyable dinner. The only thing that prevented me from going with 5 stars is the menu could use some changes on the entre section. They added bowls since my last visit but I did not really understand what they were. Banana bread pudding was excellent.
Great server and food tasted pretty good too. I’d go again.
This is the 3rd time in a row of absolutely terrible service. The chicken bowl was very light in chicken! Burger was ok but really you have a problem here. Used to be great. Fell apart about November
Lamb chops portion was four bites. Tasty but small. Good thing I ordered a salad.
Horrible service. They need to get better wait staff because the food is great but the service was terrible. Our waiter did bring our drinks, everyone else got theirs. Then brought salads with no dressing, couldn’t find him for 10 minutes. Then did bring the dressing. We ordered baked potatoes with butter they never brought butter. We asked 3 people including the waiter to bring and no one did. We had to physically get up and go to the kitchen station to get the waiter. Lousy service will ruin any meal!
Caprese steak salad is huge. 3 pieces of filet. 1/2 avacadi. Good value. Delicious!
Went for a family dinner on a weeknight. Food is consistently good there. We usually buy a bottle of wine across the street at Standard Market to bring there. Service is friendly and attentive.
Semi-Upscale. Had a nice horseshoe shaped booth that we all fit in nicely. Staff was friendly. Everyone had something different from the menu. Good place to go and relax.
Great atmosphere and service. Quality and tenderness of meats very inconsistent. Sometimes mouth watering. Sometimes too tough to cut
First time @ restaurant. Place was empty for a Friday nite. Didn’t need reservations. Waitress was very friendly. Food was served quickly, almost too quick, and taste was so-so...hers butternut squash ravioli & mine filet—undercooked for medium. Rather pricey for a “grocery store” off-shoot. In & out in <1 hr.
Haven't been here in awhile and after dinner was wondering why we don't come here more often. The appetizers were very, very good. There were 5 of us and we all had different entrees that we all loved. The desserts were out of this world. I will be back soon for the Knife and Fork Fried Chicken...amazing!
Great food, atmosphere,
service .... Always a terrific experience!
Tasty food served in a very nice ambience accompanied by a very good wine list. Very good value
New Year’s Eve 6 pm. Our party of four was seated near the kitchen, which of course was rather noisy. We waited entirely too long for our waitress to appear, and were close to asking the hostess to send her our way. The lobster bisque was tomato soup and the lobster was nonexistent. We did get up to ask kitchen staff for plates to eat our appetizer with since none were provided and the wait staff disappeared. Two in our party had fillet and they were different sizes. The crab stuff white fish was very good. However it was spoiled a little for me since the waitress came and took the dessert orders for the rest of my table before I had finished with my entrée. !?! Bakersfield has the potential to be a very fine dining experience. But they need to step it up, especially in the service department.
We were welcomed at door and taken right to our table Our server was friendly and the food was outstanding. My wife had the sword fish it was delicious and cooked perfectly I had crab stuffed white fish served atop risotto,it also was very good. Both were very nice portions. Our only slight complaint was that we had to wait for our drinks from the bar an abnormally long time.
We’ve been to Bakersfield many times. We went for New Year Eve dinner and I was a little disappointed that they had a special NYE menu, since I was planning on ordering the fried chicken and it wasn’t on the special menu. So I settled for the Filet, which I have had before and it is usually pretty good. I ordered it medium, but it came out very well done. The waitress was so sweet (Terri), she brought it back to the kitchen and said ‘this is too expensive to not have it cooked the way you want it ‘. The next filet came out raw! So it was set back again! They cooked it long and it was now edible. The manager came over and was very apologetic and of course took the filet off the bill. And they also gave use free dessert. My husband had lamb chops and they were very tough, but he just ate them and did not say anything to waitress. Although the food was not good the waitress and manager were so nice about it. I’m hoping it was just an off night because I normally like this restaurant.
We made New Year's Eve reservations @ Bakersfield for 5:30p.m. We were hoping for a quality, leisurely dinner. On arrival we found a VERY limited special menu with none of the normal menu items. We ordered drinks and placed our dinner orders. We had barely had time to enjoy our drinks when our entrees arrived-- probably 7 minutes. The food was only so-so. It must of been pre-cooked to come out so fast! It was certainly not the quality I had remembered from past visits. We were literally in and out of the restaurant in 30 minutes. I am not sure we will ever return after this experience!
Great food and service. First time here. Very busy 12/31/18 for brunch. Both hostesses were stunning as well.
I received a email from Bakersfield in early December advertising that for Christmas Eve they would have a special pre fix Dinner.
The menu sounded great as well as a realistic price. I immediately made a reservation for 5, this Seoul’s be approximately 3 weeks prior to 12/24. A day or two prior I even received a confirmation phone call from a woman named Michele.
We arrived exactly at 6:pm, the hostess immediately says to me that the previous reservation is still at our table finishing up...
We patiently wait for 20 minutes, the hostess takes us to a small table for 4!!!!! Our reservation was for 5 & then she says we can pull up a chair???? I go & find the manager who seemed challenged by the entire evening. She puts us at a booth (again for 4!!!) in the bar section (not what my reservation was for) & pull up a chair to the end for my husband to sit in ??????
Then they had to bring a server over b/c that section was handled by the bartenders.
I asked the manager why would they ever accept our reservation if they weren’t staffed for it. Also I felt as though they were accepting walk ins when my reservation was made 3 weeks prior?!!! Yes, at the end the manager tried to compensate & purchase our drinks but Christmas Eve dinner was a disappointment!
As always, food was divine and service was friendly and attentive. I love this restaurant! Ideal to celebrate any special occasion.
Christmas Eve dinner was fantastic. The menu that was selected was spot on and well worth the price. The service was extremely good and helpful in answering all of our questions. I would highly recommend this establishment again
Nice price fix Christmas Eve Dinner. Thanks, Bakersfield!
We had a family dinner and the service and food were very good. We come here frequently.
service was amazing...our service was terrific....polite, professional, knowledgeable,
Our experience here was amazing. Everyone was super welcoming and attentive. Our waitress was so sweet and informative. I would definitely come back with friends and family. Excellent service!!!
Wonderful service and found was outstanding!
Our dinner on Saturday night was delightful at Bakersfield. The Roasted Cauliflower appetizer as well as the special soup were great appetizers. The Mango glazed Salmon dish was outstanding and the Farmer's Salad was very good as usual. Our waiter was very helpful and added to the overall wonderful dining experience.
It was a holiday, so I write this understanding that and giving some benefit of the doubt. We chose the last seating, and I think this was part of the problem. We were crammed into a very tight area up against a large party, and while we understand that there were stations in place for the waitstaff, it made for a bit of discomfort. The portions were large; food was good, as we expected. Waiter forgot our rolls completely (not too big of a deal) and didn’t come back that often, probably because he couldn’t easily. There were also mistakes with the minor adjustments we asked for.
On one hand, the prix fixe of $35 was reasonable. On the other, there were enough small things wrong that we would probably not choose to return on a holiday.
Went for Thanksgiving dinner. The pre-fix items were very good but they did start running out of sides for the later seatings. I like the overall ambiance of the restaurant and will go back for a regular meal and when it is outdoor patio season again.
Great meal and great service. The Thanksgiving dinner was delicious. I would highly recommend!!
Had the knife and fork chicken-amazing!!! Tuna appetizer was equally as good!
Sara our server was awesome! Great suggestions. Good food choices, something for everyone. Burgers were great
