Dinner: Sunday and Monday: 4:00pm - 9:00pm, Tuesday through Saturday: 4:00pm - 10:00pm
ordered prime rib medium. was well done and obviously reheated and tough. I would expect meat like this at Denny’s but not here.
Second time here and just as great as first time. All the menu options and specials are both interesting and sound so delicious. The server was very knowledgeable and made recommendations and everyone loved their food. Salads are creative, the cauliflower steak had nice blend of flavors, the cauliflower pizza special was mouth watering, and the knife and fork fried chicken is amazing. Can't wait to go bake to try other dishes.
Service is excellent. Ambience is excellent as well. You can actually have a conversation without shouting. Food quality inconsistent.
It took at least 20 minutes from the time we sat until the time our server came back to tell us that they could not find the bottle of wine we ordered. A manager never came by to apologize, etc. Food was good and our server was nice but they seemed understaffed.
The food and service was very good. I had the lobster roll sandwich and my husband
had the tuna which was very good.
$3beers on tap Friday night. Popcorn shrimp appetizer spicy and tasty! Newer menu
Service, including hostess- top notch. The patio is perfect for a summer evening, and the food was delish. The drink specials were a bonus!
Delicious as always! Very flavorful with fresh ingredients. I had the salmon which was prepared just right and my son had the farmers burger. We ended up splitting and sharing. We thought it was one of the best burgers we ever had!
Food was delicious. The only complaint is that it was cold inside. The server was very friendly. Cocktails were good and the food was very healthy and delicious
So I have wanted to go here for a couple years but never got a chance to stop by. Once I was in there it was a very laid-back atmosphere. Very quaint and cozy. The noise level wasn't so high. The food was fast and good period is 2 weeks later and the guess that went with it still sucking about the restaurant.
I was there one year ago and it was fabulous! Javier was our mixologist and the food was great! I have a feeling they now have a new chef? This time our experience was much different. I sent back my special of the night - shrimp and vodka pasta. How can you mess up pasta? I could taste nothing but salt! They brought me another special of the night - prime rib and again, it overly salty. I left there feeling so disappointed since we had specifically gone for our special anniversary dinner.
This was my second visit to Bakersfield. I visited the restaurant when it first opened and was not impressed back then. I thought i would give it a second try.
Our waiter was great, but he was training a new staff person. While she was polite, I think they let her do too much on her own. She was just not ready to be independently attending patrons. Appetizer plates were placed haphazardly in front of us. Small requests for straws for our water went unanswered twice.
The food was the biggest disappointment. I had the Salmon. It was a bit over cooked and the cranberry quinoa was practically tasteless. My wife had the Grilled Lulu Chicken. The chicken was so overcooked that it was difficult to cut with a sharp knife. The cauliflower rice was also overcooked and practically "mashed". My aunt and her friend had burgers and they seemed to be cooked properly and they also seemed to enjoy them.
The wines are definitely overpriced. Even though we chose one of the $29 special wines, it was a better bargain to purchase the same wine by the glass for $6.
It is disappointing that a restaurant tied to Standard Market cannot seem to get Bakersfield in line with the quality that is often demonstrated at Standard Market. Unfortunately in this case, two strikes and they are out.
Extremely good prime rib! Some of the best we've ever had.
I visited Bakersfield several times before, but this visit was a disappointment. The restaurant was not very busy when my guest and I arrived Sunday afternoon. Apparently the bartender was also covering the dining area. He took our drink order, told us the specials, brought us our drinks.....and then half an hour passed without him coming back to take our food order. We finished our soft drinks while waiting, so we were also looking for refills. I asked another staff member to have him stop by; he did, apologized for forgetting us and took our order. The food arrived within the expected preparation time, but a dinner salad had the optional chicken that was not ordered and the "Fork and Knife Chicken" didn't have the expected habanero butter. We asked that the chicken be removed from the salad and for the missing habanero butter. When the check arrived, there was a courtesy deduction (for the delay), but the optional chicken we didn't want and didn't order was on the bill. So the 20% discount ended up around 15% due to the overcharge. The waiter was pleasant and personable, but the poor service at nearly every step of the way caused me to reduce the gratuity from the usual - something I normally don't do.
Great varied menu for all
We eat across the street at the standard market. We have wanted to try Bakersfield for a while.
Service was great , food great and we really enjoyed our dinner. It was my wife’s birthday and our anniversary.
We will be back again.
Rich and Kathy Robertaccio
Ribs were dry, guacamole was pretty good, farmers salad was the star.
I have not had a bad meal here in over 4 years. great service, great food, worth the price and the trip. a real gem.
We had a family dinner on the patio. The food and service were excellent as usual. The patio ambiance was perfect. Always a family favorite.
Gorgeous evening sitting outside. Never any pressure from the staff. Coconut shrimps were delicious, especially with the spicy sauces. My salad was terrific with perfectly cooked salmon. The service was suburb and friendly.
Ordered tilapia and was not cooked properly
I have food allergies which need to be considered. Both our server and the chef made certain the food was safe for me to eat!!!! Very attentive!! The lobster roll and side salad were absolutely delicious!! The dessert was a scope of salted maple ice cream with chocolate sauce. It was yummy!! A memorable evening with gracious hospitality and fabulous food!!!!
Food is predicable and consistently good. Service is outstanding.
I have eaten here lots of times for lunch and for dinner. You will always have a good meal. You can have a quiet table for dinner if you request it; it can get lively. The food is really good, the service is really good. My husband and I were looking for a go-to place in the suburbs where we could always be sure of having a good meal and a good time and we have found it.
We enjoyed a delicious meal on the outdoor patio. Great food & service! The brussel sprouts are fantastic!
Great sliders. Delicious macaroni & cheese. Wedge was great. Service was very attentive. Can’t wait to go back. Was here years ago and none of group were pleased. But super this time
Our reservation was at 7 pm . Restaurant not full and had to wait over 10 minutes. Service was good. Food was mediocre. We had appetizer of cauliflower steak- presentation was great - flavor lackluster. One guest ordered the ribeye special and it was unavailable they substituted a strip steak . My husband ordered the chicken teriyaki special- another mediocre dish. The wine was the best part- Lyric Pinot . Not the best dining experience will skip Bakersfield next time.
Great outdoor seating. Live music would be better.
Great service. Good good except my steak was very rare instead of medium rare. Also there many little flying insects that bothered us. They should have fans outside which would probably eliminate that problem
Great restaurant for gluten-free diners. There are plenty of choices, all varieties of entrees, interesting cocktails. Nice outdoor eating area too.
Always great food and service. Modern, clean, comfortable lighting.
Husband had French dip ate 1/2 had severe go symptoms in the eve I had 1/2 the next day and had similar response
Called restaurant to let them know
Hostess said ok I’ll let them know
Requested mgr call and recieced none
Don’t think they took it seriously
Won’t dine there again
We have enjoyed eating at Bakersfield in the past but our last visit this past week was disappointing. The service ( Jody is an amazing server) and ambience were fine but our meals were just ok. An overly sweet sauce drizzled over not quite crispy chicken wings and a strange Buratta with jam ( more jam than Buratta) were our starters. The Salmon salad ( overcooked Salmon) was overdressed as well as the Steak salad ( steak was fine). Even the Knife and Fork Chicken ( always a past favorite) was a bit of a disappointment ( a nicely fried piece of chicken over a large amount of loose Mashed Potatoes). We will try again and hope the owners can bring back some of our favorites like the Sliders and Tuna Citrus Salad and also pay more attention to flavor. We look forward to a meal that "wows "us vs. just average.
AWESOME food, I mean TOP NOTCh!
Tasty options and creative daily specials make it fun to come and try different things. Comfortable and casual or more dressy attire for a special occasion are both appropriate. Food is always good!
New menu which is a let down. Better to expand menu options and experiment with extra spots. Use to be our staple but feels like service and menu have slipped. Wine list lacks inspiration and too much a bend on eclectic wines.
Dinner on the patio was a pleasant surprise since I didn't realize they offered outdoor seating. The server was very attentive and pleasant. In no way am I a wine expert, but it would have been nice to have been offered a house wine that actually tasted like Riesling and not Chardonnay (despite the efforts of our server being sure we received the correct one).
Quality of food is very inconsistent. Sometimes excellent. Last time, however, steak was unchewable.
Everything as usual was great! The inly thing is they stopped serving the cornbread stuffing with the knife & fork chicken! Though the mashed potatoes were good, I would like the option to order the cornbread stuffing with my entree!
