restaurant is very small & they pack you in like sardines. waiter was nowhere to be found. I was very excited to try the butternut squash frittata but it came to the table very well done (a bit burned) & dry. I don’t think we will try this place again.
We were a bit earlier (6:30pm) than the scheduled reservation (7pm) and planned to enjoy a drink first. The host told us he could seat us at a table but we needed to be out in 1.5hr... kind of hey welcome now get out as soon as possible. We were reminded of having to leave twice within 90 minutes. We spend well over $300 for 2 but customer service is not really a thing for this restaurant.
Baker & Co. has solid Italian food, but it certainly isn’t the best in NYC. The employees were pleasant, but there were some missteps. There were four of us seated at a table for two. I would go back on a date, but not a group.
my favorite resturant!! accomodating staff and great food
very cute setting in the west village. Food and service was great. Well prices and the lasagne was exceptional.
Great food, variety, diff cousin, ambience, appetizers, pasta - all was great, but desert was a real killer. They doing affogato differently, but really awesome, bourdine was unbelievable too.
Staff were courteous and attentive. The good was delicious. They also source locally from the Bronx.
Went with great expectations, Michelin guide inspired. Noisy, dark room already a bad sign, if typical of many NYC restaurants these days. Then the cuisine: strangely seasoned, over-cooked, run-of-the-mill. The wine, not bad, but for a glass of Montepulciano, nearly $16.50 after tax + tip. A check for $109.50 for two starters, two glasses of wine, and a shared main course. No thanks.
Great experience! Food it’s insane, so good quality and fresh! Delicious and highly recommended!
Awesome atmosphere! The food was also delicious. The burrata was fantastic
Food was incredible!! A bit noisy out in the back, but good vibes all around
Our waitress was great she was honest and excellent service ! Really enjoyed the sausage frittata and desserts delicious
60 min limit for a table for a sit down brunch reservation feels a bit limited
Nice place, food was good, not amazing, service wasn’t great, kept taking our plates before we finished eating… felt like we are being kicked out
All was amazing ! Service , food, atmosphere !
Love this ❤️
I don’t plan on returning, with all the many good restaurants in NYC this one is not on my favorite list!
Booked a table for 5 and was crammed into a table that seated 4. We tolerated it but we should have never been sat there in the first place. The three of us that sat next to one another on one side had to sit there very uncomfortably.
I have been here before with another person and it was fine. I would not recommend for larger parties.
We enjoyed our brunch at Baker & Co. The restaurant has a great dining room and outside area. Many different food & drink options. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed walking around the area before our reservation.
Great! Wonderful good, loved the eggs Benedict.
Below mediocre food. I would have rather cooked at home. It’s a pity because the interior and ambience of the restaurant is cute
Cozy atmosphere, delicious menu, solid, friendly service. Really like it here!
The food wasn’t anything spectacular. I felt for the price there are much better options within a few blocks.
Good solid brunch. Service was great!
What’s nice is that this is a place you can reliably reserve for a Sunday brunch which is not something to take for granted. However I would not recommend booking through open table, every time I come with an open table reservation I get literally the worst tables that exist (it feels like there are two really bad tables that are reserved exclusively for open table guests) whereas the walk ins get much nicer seating. The food is okay, the service is slow because it gets very busy so look at the menu in advance so that you can order everything the minute someone comes to give you water and ask for the check as soon as the food arrives otherwise you’ll be there the whole day.
Our server was super professional & efficient & checked on us throughout the meal. Food so good, the temp of each dish perfect, & we loved the read Montalcino that we ordered.
And, before the meal began, the server shimmed our table to stablize it ~ without us having to ask!
We were seated in a very awkward and definitely makeshift table in what would have been a walkway out of the seating area. We were forced to stand up throughout our dinner in order to accommodate other people to leave to use the bathroom. It's very hard to enjoy a meal when you are forced to eat this way.
First time back since COVID struck and everything exceeded expectations. The black pasta with seafood was excellent and the no rush service was truly appreciated. Perhaps it was a function of a slow midweek night but it made us appreciate the space and food all the more.
We had a great evening! The food was so delicious, the value for money is the best we got in New York! Very recommended!!!
rushed service and no decaf coffee....................
Great food and drinks as always! Very reasonable prices
“Meh” describes the experience overall. Mediocre food, excessively noisy crowd. The service would have been fine were it not rushed to the point of rudeness. We were told upon entering we had to give up the table at a certain time, and our hurried waitstaff was a constant reminder the clock was ticking. Probably the right place for a young, 20-something crowd looking to upscale their evening. Absolutely the wrong place for 40-something gals looking for a leisurely dinner over which to chat and enjoy a great meal. Other than my company, this wasn’t special.
Great place. Food was excellent. Service was great.
1. Wouldn’t seat me without my +1 even though I was ready to order for both of us. This policy makes no sense when you’re strictly enforcing time limits and when the guests are able to order for everyone immediately
2. Very very hot in the back of the restaurant
3. Time limit of 1 hr for brunch is crazy when it takes 25 mins to get coffee and when you can’t find your server for another 15 mins
4. Food was good but nothing memorable honestly
Food was excellent but it gets busy-- so much so that our server forgot to bring our beverage order.
It was okay overall, but they were rushing us to leave towards the end and we hadn’t hit the two-hour mark yet (as outlined in their policy for our group size). They tried to take half-full drinks from the table and repeatedly asked to pick up plates when people were still grazing. I understand tables need to turn over, but it wasn’t a good feeling. Nevertheless, It was still a good time.
Baker & Co. came through yet again. The excellent servers didn't blink an eye when my large party all talked at the same time, wavered on their choices, changed their mind ... The entrees--ranging from the delicious lasagna to the tasty branzino to my standby, the octopus (actually an appetizer)--were uniformly wonderful. So happy to have this reliably great restaurant within walking distance. Thanks to the staff for indulging our quirks and indecision.
Perfect weekend brunch on a patio! We keep going back <3
We enjoyed a great brunch at Baker & co, and my table particularly enjoyed the spinach & ricotta gnudi and the French toast. The indoor seating area is a bit small, and there wasn't a ton of air flow but the food was delicious.
I went here with my dear friend for my birthday and ... WOW! I love the diversity in food options, with also the ability to get some fan favorites. SO highly recommend this place!
We had an absolutely delicious dinner. We started with four appetizers, the meatballs, fried artichokes, lamb sausage and grilled octopus. All were prepared perfectly and served with salads, which was a bonus. The pasta special and parchment wrapped branzino were both yummy. Service was efficient, and friendly. We will definitely return.
