We really enjoyed BaK. Decided to have an early dinner here after wandering through the beach area by car. We arrived just an hour after opening and had the entire place to ourselves. I took the opportunity to take photos of the beautiful space. Leo and the other wait staff provided excellent service with great attention to detail. We enjoyed spicy mezcalitas, and the house bread to start and for our main course, we shared the Black Angus NY Strip, Grilled King Crab along with the garlic mashed potatoes and carrots. Everything was delicious! We’d return here and highly recommend if you’re in the mood for dry aged steaks and elevated dining experience in Tulum. Thank you to the manager Carlos for being so generous and accommodating.

Good food , great service. The noise level was too high and you cannot hardly hear the waitress. Get the music level under control it will be a great option. The fire show was awesome and I recommend coming here on the weekend to see it .

Avoid This Place – Borderline Fraudulent Experience My visit to this restaurant was not just disappointing—it felt like a scam. From the moment we were seated, the service was unprofessional and pushy. The waiter pressured us to order more than we wanted and seemed visibly annoyed when we only ordered one main dish. His demeanor turned rude and dismissive immediately after. A bottle of water we ordered was poured into one glass, then taken away without leaving it on the table. It suspiciously disappeared, only for us to be prompted to order another later. The entire experience felt like a tactic to inflate the bill with minimal transparency. The food? Overcooked fish with alright presentation. Basic at best. The drinks were okay, but nothing special. We left quickly and didn’t even finish our meals due to the uncomfortable atmosphere. To top it all off, the waiter argued with me about the tip—even after such poor service. I reluctantly left 5% out of sheer courtesy, but if there were an option to leave a negative tip, I would have taken it. He even insisted that 15% was the minimum required by their payment system, which is misleading at best. This place clearly prioritizes upselling and overcharging over hospitality and quality. You’re far better off following the Michelin guide and supporting genuinely outstanding restaurants/spots in Tulum like Casa Banana or Sana Tulum. Save your time, money, and mood—avoid this place.

Our night at Bak' was amazing! The food, the wine, the setting all of it. We were impressed with the way the staff worked together. Their timing and service were impeccable. Absolutely loved the show - think Cirque vibes with a Mayan theme. We can't wait to return!

Unfortunately, my experience at BAK’ Fire Steakhouse was disappointing. The service fell short, and the waiter overcharged us when converting from pesos to USD, which felt dishonest. My guest was overcharged on his card 3 TIMES which resulted in his card being shut off which is a major inconvenience while traveling. The food didn’t make up for the poor service, and I left feeling frustrated rather than satisfied. I wouldn’t recommend it based on this experience.

Food was great! A little over priced For Mexico but it was good. I was disappointed with all the money we spent they wouldn’t allow us to cut my bday cake. Not great service in my opinion

Muy bueno todo, muy caro pero lo que sí no es creíble es que pedí unas alcachofas Tempura y estaban peor que pescaditos de la central de abastos fritos en aceite quemado, de hecho me enfermé, sáquenlas del menú.

The place is beautiful, loved the ambiance and the music. The food was good. Service was odd. Just not to the level we expected for a pricyer meal. The server mixed our salad and served it to us, but then took the bowl away with food still in it.. never got to finish the salad and when we asked he didn’t understand what we were saying. Very very odd. He tried upselling us from 14oz of steak to 21oz.. tried telling us the 14oz was very small- showing us the size of his fist.. which was not accurate in the slightest. I showed him the pic on the menu of the very large steak we meant to order and he insisted it was too small. We ordered an extra app incase. We ended up not needing the extra app and should have trusted ourselves initially. When we sat down they asked if we wanted water (first time the whole trip anyones asked us if we wanted water upon arrival) we said yes… they charged us $40 for 2 water bottles …. which is so absurd. It was way too expensive in my opinion. The experience va the price did not align at all. We ate a much larger, better and more beautifully presented meal and had exceptional service at taboo the night before for $100 less. Between the overpriced menu, the weird experience with the salad and the shady upselling.. we wouldn’t return to Bak or recommend it to anyone else.
