   Another great experience overall! The food is outstanding. The space is absolutely beautiful. I’ve been a number of times but it was the first time for the rest of my party. They loved it! Our server was really great but it was prime time on a Friday and she was covering a number of tables, so things were a little slow. The acoustics are a little tough, so it was a bit loud (but not obnoxiously loud, but if you’re looking for a quiet spot this might not be it). All in all I’d highly recommend Baia!

   Really bad food. Like the worst I can remember in my 20 years as a San Franciscan. We were a party of 5 and ordered all the apps and a good portion of entrees and none of it was good. The corn ravioli tasted like corn muffin mix with overcooked pasta- 2 of my guests orders it and did not touch it. A plant based menu that turns out a bad Caesar salad? How? The bruschetta had so much garlic in it that I could taste nothing else, it looked as though they’d thrown the tomatoes in a food processor instead of dicing them. I would have ordered more of something else so that my guests could eat but…there was no- oh the pizza is good, bring us 3 of those. It was literally all bad. I don’t like giving bad reviews - I usually say nothing but it was a special night w out of town guests and I was totally embarrassed to have brought them there and it was awkward. Also- I was hungry so - I kind of needed to eat.

   Please change how the bill looks so that tax doesn’t look like 15%. Also, please don’t clear dishes until everyone at the table has finished.

   I was looking forward to having dinner at Baia as it has been highly recommended. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience overall. The decor was a lovely as it was when the restaurant was known as Jardinère, our waitress was charming. The overall prize did not justify the food: the funghi pizza lacked subtlety, it was too salty, the size of the pizza ridiculous for one person, and there was no justification for the $25 price.

   The Parapadella didn't meet our expectations. The brocolli, fungi pizza, and risotto were outstanding. Glad the chardonnay wasn't as expensive as before the fire. Glad you are back on track.

    I appreciate that they're a nice fully vegan restaurant in the San Francisco / Bay Area. There are so few especially compared to other major cities, like Los Angeles where there are lots of cute restaurants serving lots of delicious and creative vegan options. Overall Baia was underwhelming. We were there to celebrate my partner's birthday. We were seated upstairs, which is very lovely. We originally had planned for a party of 5 but changed it to 4 about an hour before, so perhaps that's why we were still seated at the large 7-chair table. So can't knock them for that, but definitely made it hard for the 4 of us to have a conversation together and reach anything placed in the middle of the table. It seemed like the waiter was even surprised we were seated there. Food was ok for the price — not mind blowing or particularly interesting. Cocktails were great. Service was also just OK. Our waiter took our order promptly, but we weren't really checked on and so had to flag someone down for water refills. I wouldn't recommend for a special occasion.

    Stuff happens. We get it. And it happened to us. Won't go into the details but the kitchen was in staffing disarray and we were the recipients. I'll leave it there. Some of the dishes were delicious, some not so. We'll try again sometime. They did make some sincere concessions and we appreciate it.

    Firstly, I'm not a vegan, but I am open to all cuisines and enjoy trying new things. That said, the food at Baia left me uninspired. The cacao de pepe was unlike any Roman pasta I've had both in taste and appearance and I had to actually request more pepper. The fried mozzarella sticks were mushy, although the pesto risotto was quite nice and tasty. I don't think I'll return there.

    From start to end we had the best experience. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Our waiter and food were amazing. Every dish was so flavorful we’re still talking about it. We can’t wait to come back!

    We sat upstairs and it was lovely - not as crowded as downstairs. I had rigatoni and it was delicious. My friend had the "chicken" parmagiana and thought it was good. Dessert for both was chocolate ganache - to die for! The lattes were good. Service was excellent and we were finished with plenty of time to walk over to the Symphony. All of the staff members we encountered were very friendly. We'll be back!

    I was pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant, then to also find it meat-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free. I try to find healthier alternatives when I can so this was a perfect option. Conveniently located near Davies, the Opera House, the Civic Auditorium, and the Orpheum (which is where I was going this particular night), I hope to return to BAIA again soon!

    The food came one hour after we ordered. We just sat there watching other people who came after us to finish their meals before we got our entrees.

    Thanksgiving dinner wasn’t good. The pasta was burnt. $120 is a bit much to ask for burnt pasta. My sides also didn’t come out with my dinner. The pumpkin pie wasn’t even a slice. It was like a crumb.

    We were here for tday a few yrs ago and food was great. This yr the food was very bland. It was desperately missing flavor and salt. Also I felt dishes could have been better. Not worth the price.

    Starting note: I wanted to give a 3.5 but chose to round down rather than up. Food & Drink The meatballs with polenta are an absolute must. I was blown away by how tasty they were and it was the highlight of our meal. A close second was the Ravioli with corn as the flavors were clean and delicious. I was disappointed in the spicy sausage and peppers pizza. The base was not strong enough to support the toppings, and the crust was dense and chewy rather than crisp and airy. That being said, the flavor of the toppings was good. I think I made a mistake on my cocktail order ( Paloma Farfalla) as the sweet/sour was so overpowering that I could only consume half of it. Final note: Be careful with parking. At least four cars, including our own, were broken into on the street that BAIA is located on. If we come again next time we are in town, we will not drive ourselves.

    The only real negative was that it felt like opening night. The servers did not seem to know what table the food was for. We were offered items we hadn’t ordered several times while still waiting for our food.

    The food here is SO good it's hard to believe that everything is plant based! Even the parmesan tastes like the real thing. Our meal was excellent and the food came out so quickly, but our wine took forever to arrive to the table and the service was quite underwhelming... no help in picking wine from a comprehensive list, and we often found ourselves asking 2-3 times for something (water, an extra plate, etc) before it arrived at the table. It was a normal amount of busy. This was the only disappointment in an otherwise wonderful meal!

    Beautiful surroundings and attentive service. Food was disappointing. We ordered crispy polenta to start. This was minute square of fried polenta with a small puddle of basil flavored sauce and a few shards of cauliflower. Next, the Caesar salad was acceptable— the best part of the meal. Of the three entry’s we ordered, only the risotto was edible. The rigatoni was fiery hot and an ordeal to eat. The papardelle with mushrooms and Marsala had a good flavor, but a sticky and unappealing pile of noodles. Too bad the food does not match the decor.

    Thrilled that this restaurant has reopened after the fire damage. We went on Day 3 of reopening, so we understand the slow service, but it needs to improve. The food is terrific. Portions seem smaller than before. Waiting for time to make these improvements. We love this place...

    The food is fabulous and the corn ravioli is divine. Maybe an off night for us. Three different servers bringing us drinks that were for other tables. No Aperol or Campari. Incorrect pasta brought so I had to eat my dinner while my guest had to wait for the correct pasta. Then they incorrectly charged us for 3 pasta dishes. Cocktails take a long time and second round no garnish. I hope they work on their service as Baia has creative menu and is in a perfect location for Symphony/Opera.

    Good food, great service on a busy night but too cramped for space on the second level, for a table for 2. My chair was hitting the guy behind me even without any movement and I am a small framed guy. Seemed to be loud. Overall a good experience for a staunch vegan.
