Always our favorite! We love going to Bahrs no special occasion needed.
I was really looking forward to returning. However nothing was fine same or the same quality.
The food was awful! All of our dishes were bad. They said they had a new chief- I think they need to keep looking! Multiple mistakes and multiple requests for water. They were kind enough to not charge for one of the meals.
Unless a friend tells me they had a great night there, I won’t be returning for a second chance.
The seafood was fresh and tasty. Good service and a nice place to eat.
We travel about an hour to come to this restaurant & it’s worth the trip. Never disappointed.
This is a place that you can depend on for a great meal. Love bringing people who are visiting and love sea food.
The food, service and atmosphere were top notch. It was our first visit and the menu choices were so unfair. --- wanted almost everything. !!!!! It is on the water and the views must be fabulous in daylight. Truly regret not knowing about this place until very recently.
We had not been here since 1985! loved it. Great food, service and views!
As usual Bahrs Landing was great. My Seafood Marinara was perfect. Our waitress Maryann was professional, courteous, and spot on in supplying items we ordered and side condiments ahead of asking. She's a credit to the company and a prime reason for coming back. Of course the food was done to perfection.
Had a great dinner here with the whole family.. everything was great.. service was friendly and efficient, seafood was perfectly cooked and super fresh.. we love the authenticity and history of this restaurant!
The service, food and atmosphere are exceptional. The prices are a little overpriced but overall it was an exceptional evening.
Entered the restaurant to a warm greeting from the host. We were promptly seated in an open space dining room, with a nice view of the river. The dining room was a throwback to an earlier time, but I found it warm and inviting. Our waitress was an older lady, war and pleasant. Food service was very good, no hold ups and our waitress assessed our desire for a more leisurely pace to our dining experience.
Our meal was well prepared and presented. Price was a little stiff, but that is to be expected with seafood. Bahrs is an old restaurant relatively untouched by time, it’s a throwback but I think they can teach modern restaurants how to prepare, serve, and treat people with warmth.
A go to place for birthday celebrations...always a good meal & great service!
Love the atmosphere great service and excellent food. They also have a gift store.
And in the summer they have outside seating That's when I go every weekend.
winter months at least once a month
We simply love to go there. Love the location and the nautical atmosphere and ambiance. Between the seafood and the German food there is always something that will satisfy each of our whims.
We returned to Bahr's after not travelling 40 miles to it, and we regret not going more often. The service was excellent though the restaurant was fairly crowded as it was Valentine's Day.
10 family members celebrated all of our winter birthdays. The food was excellent!! 9 seafood , one pot roast.
The service was very slow in between courses, but this worked this time, because we were all busy catching up!!
Loved the no wait in the winter season!!
Service is not good really thakes away from an other wise good dinning experience
Been going to Bahrs for over 60 years and have had a great meal every time. Clam chowder is to die for. Service very good, we had Dawn and she was the best, we had a great time.
WEATHER WAS WARM, SO WE TOOK THE RIDE TO THE HIGHLANDS FOR SOME SEA FOOD. HAVEN'T BEEN THERE IN YEARS, IT HAS NOT CHANGED AND THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT.
THEY OPENED IN 1917, AND JUST COMPLETED THEIR 100TH ANNIVERSARY. THE REASON THEY
LASTED SO LONG, GOOD FOOD, GOOD SERVICE, AND LOCATED ON THE WATER.
WE'LL BE BACK WHEN SPRING ARRIVES AND WE'LL DINE OUTSIDE.
HERES TO ANOTHER 100 YEARS.......CONGRATULATIONS
As usual the food and service at Bahrs is very good. We try and go every month or so.
Only one cautionary note, they are redoing their tap system and beer selection is pretty poor. This was somewhat disappointing since they usually had some local craft brews which were excellent.
Another great meal at Bahr's! Everyone enjoyed their appetizer's and entrees. Clams and Oysters on the half shell were wonderful and so fresh! The salads are huge and delicious! The broiled scallops melted in your mouth - the lobster was the best my father's ever had and the broiled seafood platter and crab cakes were as wonderful as always. One of our favorites- see you soon!
Bahrs Landing is always delightful and never disappoints. If you are fortunate enough to sit at a table served by Mary or Ann, your are fortunate indeed.
One of our favorite places. My husband is a seafood lover me not so, however I am German the small German menu is perfect to remind me of my moms home cooking
Grand as always! It's always wonderful. Go and enjoy.
always consistently good and has been for many, many years
We had another fabulous lunch with great food, service and atmosphere! The scallops platter and the fried clam strips platter were both excellent - tasty and abundant quantity for hungry eaters. The atmosphere is always wonderful overlooking the marina and the Navesink River, and the nautical ambiance with adequately spaced tables makes for an enjoyable meal during which you can carry on a normal conversation.
Best seafood meal we've had in a long time - from soup/salad to main meal (no room for desert). Great service with a great view!
Many visits to Bahrs Landing, never disappointed. The Oysters Rockefeller are the best, "Bahr none". I had the Fisherman's platter... excellent. My companions had the Chicken Francais and the Crabcakes. Both agreed... excellent. My companion visiting from Pennsylvania had the crabcakes, and said they were the best she ever had anywhere. Cocktails were well-made and reasonably priced - this is becoming rare, in that many restaurants are hiring 'bartenders' who are just kids out of college who don't know the difference between a Manhattan and a Rob Roy. The bartender(s) at Bahrs know how to make a drink. Great food, great service, nice atmosphere... we will definitely be back.
I've been eating at Bahr's for more than 50 years. Food is always great, service friendly, decor classically shore, water view spectacular (especially at dusk when the cruise ships go out and NYC glows orange in the distance), seating comfortable and everything spotlessly clean.
We ordered the scallop special appetizer & was disappointed as they were not seasoned at all. The calamari wasn’t as seasoned & crispy as we would have liked. The shrimp cocktail, lobster pot pie, chicken franchaise & shrimp scampi were fantastic.
We were greeted at the front desk by a very well dressed pleasant woman, who also seated us at a window seat, overlooking the Navesink River. We ordered NE Clam chowder (Excellent), Raw fish platter consisting of Oysters, Clams & Large Shrimp (Excellent), Steamers (Excellent) and Fish & Chips (Poor); fried fish was over cooked & the steak fries were warm but hard.(Very disappointed) The service was decent, although server although pleasant, was not very attentive. Water glass not filled, courses were rush (served next course, before we finished current course) and table not cleared of prior course setting. When we were leaving the Restaurant, a young man thanked us for coming and an older man, although making eye contact, didn’t say anything as we bid them a thank you and good afternoon. Overall, due to the raw fish and steamers being excellent, we definitely would dine again and give the Restaurant another try on other points that were not so good.
Visited for Thanksgiving dinner. They had turkey, stuffing, yams, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, green beans, cole slaw and biscuits on the dinner. I ordered pecan bourbon pie and decaf. The food was very good. I was full. The interior overlooked the Navesink River. It was a tranquil setting, restful. The server was very enthusiastic and attentive. Definitely a good place for a meal.
Can not think of any complaint ! Everything was perfect.
It is one of my favorite spots. My father used to take us swimming there when I was little about a block from the restaurant. My husband took me on many Sunday rides and we ate there. Very relaxing on a small marina right on the water. Food is good and reasonable.
We always love dining at Bahrs Landing! The food is always wonderful and the service is always very professional, warm, kind, and welcoming! The ambience (both in the indoor dining room(s) and on the outdoor deck (during Spring / Summer months)) is always fantastic - cozy inside and beautiful outside - and the waterfront view is always spectacular (indoors AND outdoors)! We can't wait to return to this very special restaurant!!
a very good version of a NJ seafood joint, like a tourist attraction with swag shop and large waiting area for those oh-oh summer nights. No need to wait the night we went (cold and windy), the place is very clean and nice space between nice size tables.Surprised they had a full Oktobrefest menu, made deciding tough... Our waiter was poised and charming, the food was pretty good. A wee bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Only complaint was that our dinners arrived before our apps were finished...no excuses for this except they are probably used to turning tables, eat it and beat it...no reason for this on a slower type night, need better communication between the waiter/runners and kitchen. Overall, we shall return...
I love this place! Great food and service as always!
A really fun family restaurant with great food and beautiful views. Good for all ages! Server Donna was awesome!
Beautiful view and great seafood. Would be wonderful to dine outside here in the nice weather. We will have to return to do just that.
