Our dinner at Bahrs was great, as always. It is our go-to spot.
Service was great; Donna was fantastic! Always good food & great selection of food, great view, relaxed, was not hurried out. Quite enjoyable!!
Met some friends here for lunch on a Saturday. The sat at a window table with a view of the water. The food was very good and moderately priced for lunch. Great value for lunch as this is a nice restaurant.
Bahrs is always wonderful, and my shrimp and scallop curry dinner was fabulous! If you like curry, you'll love this.
Dinner with my honey
Reservations are meaningless. They treat it as a "call ahead" and getting on that list is useless. My wife and I had a 7PM reservation, arrived a few minutes early and was told that they don't take reservations, only "call ahead". What's the point? They put you on a "called ahead" list when you check in which presumably gets priority over walkins. Open Table's website does say its a "call ahead list but you have to scroll down several screens to find any reference to that. We waited 55 minutes before being seated. Why would the restaurant accept walkins at all if people who have so called "reservations" are waiting nearly an hour. Despite an attentive waitress, our dinner arrived a few minutes before 9PM. With a 7PM reservation, having dinner served at 8:50 is ridiculous. Open Table should not permit restaurants to use their service if they don't honor reservations. This will be our last trip to this restaurant.
My first time at this restaurant after my parents raved about it. Made a 7pm call ahead, sat down around 7:35 and didn’t get our appetizers until 830! Waitress was definitely stressed I didn’t feel bad but tables all around us were already eating by the time we got our appetizer even after arriving first. We then didn’t start eating dinner until probably 9:15. Service was horrible and orders weren’t listened to. I understand it’s a busy Saturday but we did drive almost an hour to go here and it’s not cheap. The amount you spend on dining here should be represented by the staff you hire. Unfortunately I won’t go back.
My husband and I booked a dinner through Open Table for 7pm on Saturday. We arrived 35 minutes early with the expectation of checking in early and having a drink before dinner. We arrived and found a line and the lobby packed with people who had been waiting for over an hour for a table. When I checked in the woman said they do not accept reservations only a "call ahead" and there was a wait. We could not get to the bar to have a drink it was packed with families waiting for their tables. We stood off to the side near the check in and listened to the hostess tell numerous patrons that their reservations on Open Table would only put them on a "call ahead" status. We waited for almost 2 hours before being seated, we would have left and gone to another restaurant, I called and could not find a table available. If they do not accept reservations they should be removed from Open Table.
This was our 2nd time. We had a great meal and it was restaurant week. Enjoyed the Lobster pot pie and the German Potato pancakes. The window seating was very nice, watching the outdoor boats etc. They happened to be taping a Man vs. Food TV segment. This added a little more excitement to the day!
I would love to go back soon.
First time visiting, not too bad to be a seafood restaurant for up north. Growing up south, from Holden Beach, Calabash area.. the food taste pretty great here. I wasn't to keen on the butterfly shrimp since I'm use to getting plenty of shrimp with my scallops.. and a choice for a bake potato instead of fries which they have good roasted potatoes instead of. I highly recommend the scallops, tender moist and nice sizes..was not rubbery!! The setting puts me back at home on the water front dining.. The Staff was great and Donna was a great server! Seating is awesome!!
Excellent as always.
Bahr's is great because it's large, so it's great for large groups. The food is really delicious and the menu is robust. You can have prime rib seafood, salad, soup, pasta...you name it. My husband had a fisherman's plate and I kept stealing his lobster tail. So yummy. Additionally, the dessert menu is just as delicious and you can't leave without one of their specialty coffees (I recommend the Mexican coffee).
The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, updated decor, great views and great food. We very much enjoyed dining at Bahr's. We will be back for sure.
Bahrs is my favorite place to eat. Great food nice views. The kids menu is farely priced and has a decent variety.
Easter dinner with family
We have never been disappointed in the food here. Service was excellent. Would have given 5 stars but for one thing. We were lucky to get a seat by the window and so we had a lovely water view. This place has been around for a long time and it is still doing a great job. Would have given 5 stars but for one thing. We had salad and the entrée was brought out while we were still eating our salad. To me that is a no-no. We had too many dishes on the table.
Great food and impeccable service - Bahrs makes you grateful that you were raised by the ocean and dine at the waterfront any day of the year!
Great food, spot on service, friendly people including the owners. Everyone is out to please their customers . WE have eaten here many times and continue to find it one of our favorite places for years.
Overpriced but good food and great drinks. Ambience is decent. Portion size seemed a bit small but was plenty.
The food was excellent and fresh! We had a wonderful time, the view is great too!
2 of 5 wanted the Grilled Catch of the Day special listed on Daily Specials List. They didn’t have it!!
Lots of fried food. Everyone enjoyed their basic dishes...including the one person who ordered Weinerschnitzel. Flounder & Scrod were fairly bland. Steamers were delicious- best had anywhere in quite a while.
Always our favorite! We love going to Bahrs no special occasion needed.
I was really looking forward to returning. However nothing was fine same or the same quality.
The food was awful! All of our dishes were bad. They said they had a new chief- I think they need to keep looking! Multiple mistakes and multiple requests for water. They were kind enough to not charge for one of the meals.
Unless a friend tells me they had a great night there, I won’t be returning for a second chance.
The seafood was fresh and tasty. Good service and a nice place to eat.
We travel about an hour to come to this restaurant & it’s worth the trip. Never disappointed.
This is a place that you can depend on for a great meal. Love bringing people who are visiting and love sea food.
The food, service and atmosphere were top notch. It was our first visit and the menu choices were so unfair. --- wanted almost everything. !!!!! It is on the water and the views must be fabulous in daylight. Truly regret not knowing about this place until very recently.
We had not been here since 1985! loved it. Great food, service and views!
As usual Bahrs Landing was great. My Seafood Marinara was perfect. Our waitress Maryann was professional, courteous, and spot on in supplying items we ordered and side condiments ahead of asking. She's a credit to the company and a prime reason for coming back. Of course the food was done to perfection.
Had a great dinner here with the whole family.. everything was great.. service was friendly and efficient, seafood was perfectly cooked and super fresh.. we love the authenticity and history of this restaurant!
The service, food and atmosphere are exceptional. The prices are a little overpriced but overall it was an exceptional evening.
Entered the restaurant to a warm greeting from the host. We were promptly seated in an open space dining room, with a nice view of the river. The dining room was a throwback to an earlier time, but I found it warm and inviting. Our waitress was an older lady, war and pleasant. Food service was very good, no hold ups and our waitress assessed our desire for a more leisurely pace to our dining experience.
Our meal was well prepared and presented. Price was a little stiff, but that is to be expected with seafood. Bahrs is an old restaurant relatively untouched by time, it’s a throwback but I think they can teach modern restaurants how to prepare, serve, and treat people with warmth.
A go to place for birthday celebrations...always a good meal & great service!
Love the atmosphere great service and excellent food. They also have a gift store.
And in the summer they have outside seating That's when I go every weekend.
winter months at least once a month
We simply love to go there. Love the location and the nautical atmosphere and ambiance. Between the seafood and the German food there is always something that will satisfy each of our whims.
We returned to Bahr's after not travelling 40 miles to it, and we regret not going more often. The service was excellent though the restaurant was fairly crowded as it was Valentine's Day.
10 family members celebrated all of our winter birthdays. The food was excellent!! 9 seafood , one pot roast.
The service was very slow in between courses, but this worked this time, because we were all busy catching up!!
Loved the no wait in the winter season!!
Service is not good really thakes away from an other wise good dinning experience
Been going to Bahrs for over 60 years and have had a great meal every time. Clam chowder is to die for. Service very good, we had Dawn and she was the best, we had a great time.
