It is one of my favorite spots. My father used to take us swimming there when I was little about a block from the restaurant. My husband took me on many Sunday rides and we ate there. Very relaxing on a small marina right on the water. Food is good and reasonable.

We always love dining at Bahrs Landing! The food is always wonderful and the service is always very professional, warm, kind, and welcoming! The ambience (both in the indoor dining room(s) and on the outdoor deck (during Spring / Summer months)) is always fantastic - cozy inside and beautiful outside - and the waterfront view is always spectacular (indoors AND outdoors)! We can't wait to return to this very special restaurant!!

a very good version of a NJ seafood joint, like a tourist attraction with swag shop and large waiting area for those oh-oh summer nights. No need to wait the night we went (cold and windy), the place is very clean and nice space between nice size tables.Surprised they had a full Oktobrefest menu, made deciding tough... Our waiter was poised and charming, the food was pretty good. A wee bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Only complaint was that our dinners arrived before our apps were finished...no excuses for this except they are probably used to turning tables, eat it and beat it...no reason for this on a slower type night, need better communication between the waiter/runners and kitchen. Overall, we shall return...

Overlooking Sandy Hook and the bay, views were great, as were the oysters. Entrees were acceptable, but nothing special; we had paella and crab cakes. Wine list was reasonable.

Very good food, service, and a nice nautical ambience. The Oysters Rockefeller are the best I've had anywhere. Fisherman's Platter (included a broiled lobster tail) was done to perfection. Cocktails are well-made, and priced fairly.

Bahr's Landing NEVER disappoints. The food is great; the service is friendly and relaxed. Menu includes both interesting seafood and German dishes. Bahr's is a gem - celebrating 100 years.

Bahrs does not honor OpenTable reservations. We showed up on time and had to wait 40 minutes for our reserved table. Don’t expect them to honor a reservation.

Its been 15 years since our last visit. We drove 75 minute from home to get there. We wanted fried and broiled seafood. We were not disappointed.. Good fresh food, water front. Famous red claim chowder, biscuits, very good calamari appetizer, and fresh grilled fish medley,, no room for dessert.

I had escargot for appetizer which was good not great and we had Oysters that were ok, but were not close to being cold enough...... For my main dish I had fried oysters that were probably the worst I every had and were soggy, and my wife had the broiled fisherman’s platter that believe it or not came out over cooked and ice cold which is strange but true...... the service was good but that just does not matter with lousy food.....

Start to finish, of visits to Bahrs beyond counting, this was our finest meal ever. The James River oysters, new to me, were sublime -- a fine counterpart to their Delaware Bay oysters (to which I am partial.) And Bahrs knows enough to serve Sauce Mignonette (sherry vinegar and minuscule bits of shallots)! so as not to overwhelm the bivalves.

An exceptional waiter, who served as host, as we'd arrived early for (reserved) lunch. View incomparable -- sparkling Navesink, active bird life (I'm usually there with birders eager for Sandy Hook quests after our quintessential seafood feast.)

Creative cuisine is irrelevant here. What one seeks at Bahrs is the freshest seafood perfectly prepared, which ours was, start-to-finish. They kindly let me have half fried oysters and half fried scallops. But 'fried' is a misnomer. The coating (some very fine cornmeal) was like gossamer and oysters and scallops tingly-hot yet almost sushi, and certainly sushi quality.

Nothing beats that Navesink-side setting -- sparkling waters; working clammers and oysterers arriving in yellow gear, boats laden; pleasure boats of all types arriving and departing. One boatman carried sunflowers in his back pack. Often, fishing craft arrive and expert crew clean their catch, tossing offal to contending gulls. Cormorants glide and dive. Great black-back gulls preside like the ministers they are sometimes named. Hungry gulls wait till the clammers enter Bahrs for lunch, to plunder their catch.

To top it all off, coffee strong enough and perfectly hot at the SAME TIME as generous servings of key lime pie, the right color and the appropriate crust -- tangy and memorable.

I was there with a friend who has recently lost her beloved husband. They always shared Maine. Bahrs is the closest we can get to her Maine adventures with that splendid man. We were beyond content!

Enjoyable water views on these fleeting days of summer. Basket of biscuits! Yum!!! Starters were lobster bisque, German onion soup, and an order of clams casino. All very good. Dinners were stuffed flinder, stuffed shrimp, pan seared scallops, and shrimp scampi, which came on pasta. We had cole slaw and baked potatoes. Shared a key lime pie and rice pudding for dessert.

Had to send my whole belly clams back as they were burned and like rubber. This has happened that last few times we have eaten there and I have no idea why. They brought out new clams that were fine. You would think the cook, the server, & the waitress would have seen this before I was given the plate. Too bad because it it a beautiful location and we have been going there for years.
