Our party of 7 thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambience. The wait staff was excellent and accommodating, and the management ensured that menus, chairs, etc., were wiped down to protect its patrons.
I really enjoyed my experience here. Some things were great, some things could use some improvement. Overall, great service, great view! Love the neighborhood restaurant feel!
It was one of the first sunny Sunday's and Bahr's was packed even at 3 pm. It was amazing how well they handled the crowd and the food was superb. This was our first time here and truly enjoyed the view of the water and the friendly and attentive staff. The Manhattan clam chowder was homemade and filled with clams. I had the Mahi Mahi special and my friend had the German trio platter. Iit was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
One of my favorite go to places in the area. The atmosphere is very is great we always get a seat near the water. The food and service are always consistently great. The beast whole belly clams around. The bar crowd there always cracks me up because it looks like the minimum age is like 60!
Donna was excellent so sweet and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our dinner!
Always great .great food, great service, great atmosphere!
Over 100 years of experience and still going strong. Comforting food on the Jersey shore.
Sunday family dinner; excellent food, Nicole is a great server and an ocean/bay view. Bahrs Landing is one of our favorite places.
Excellent food. Large portions and reasonable prices. Plus you cannot beat location right on the water. Highly recommend
Had Mary As our server everything was perfect had the lobster rollEveryone in my party loved it it’s always my favorite this place is fantastic I love it
Excellent food and great service by Mauro.
Excellent food and service as always.
Been coming here over 40 years and worth the long drive.
Best steamers and lobster dinner around.
Fried fish extremely soggy told waiter he did nothing for us. Long wait in between courses and they were not busy. Second time we went in a 6 month period and was disappointed both times. This restaurant has been around for many years and they have opportunity to be the top seafood restaurant in the area but they just don’t seem to care. They have a great location with water views but that’s about it.
Debbie we are so sorry about your dining experience here at Bahrs Landing on Sunday. Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Be certain that we have reviewed the issues at hand and our team is using the criticism constructively to ensure this does not ever happen again. We pride ourselves in our Fish and Chips, unfortunately we dropped the ball with your visit. In operation for 103 years, Bahrs would not have made it this far if we did not listen to our customers. Thank you again.
I have been to Bahr’s many times before. This was by far my best experience. Two minor issues were not being seated until 7pm on a 6:30 reservation and my son’s meal did not come out the first time as requested. That said the service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. The Monk fish special was amazing and the dessert specials were incredible as well. A+ experience.
Always good food. Service a little sketchy.
The food is fantastic - beat mussels and halibut!
I always enjoy going to Bahrs Landing. Their food is wonderful and the ambiance is great. I love looking around at the things on the walls and finding out about the history of the restaurant. I am going to bring my friends here in March (have not made a reservation yet) and share my favorite restaurant with them.
Food never disappoints this visit very crowded table location not great but our fault late....
Wonderful as always!!!
Food delicious, as always, I has the Salmon Oscar, couldn’t stop eating til it was gone, martini’s excellent!!
Food was great. Service was excellent. I’ll be back
The restaurant is right on the water front and provides some great evening views! Mussels were great so as the crab cake! Definitely an evening spot, not to miss!
Weekday lunch was very enjoyable. Server was great, portions good sized. Irish coffee was served hot, and strong. Just the way we like it.
Second time there, we’ll be going back
Family gathering to celebrate a New Year 2020. Right from the warm friendly reception at the entrance to the delightful table location with panoramic water views we were made to feel welcomed. Our service was attentive but not intrusive allowing us time to decide our culinary choices with just the right amount of pause. The food was excellent and all that was expected, served with finesse and great flavor.
It was unanimously decided that this would become one of our frequent future meeting locations-casual-comfortable and great value. Thanks to All for contributing to a great beginning for the New Year!
Love this place. Seafood combo is amazing! Such a fun place for New Years with the kiddos we can watch the ball drop twice !!!! Fun times!
Always great for a lobster dinner and view is nice overlooking the river.
longstanding, well known, casual seafood restaurant, tried and true...not many selections for vegetarians but cole slaw, biscuits and some interesting cocktails are good..
We love dining out at Bahrs...always a great meal, wonderful servers and great martinis!
Great seafood, service and wonderful location and ambiance!
Always outstanding, this visit was no exception. The scallops, fried clam strips and button clam platters were all delicious, abundant in portion size, and reasonably priced. Largely due to the weather and season, the restaurant was unusually quite, but the holiday decorations and wonderful view overlooking the river made for a very relaxing and comfortable lunch with family. We highly recommend the restaurant to everyone we meet and hope that this review will encourage you to visit as well!
Now that the summer is over and the shore has been given back to year round residents it is time to go back to Bahrs for great seafood and perhaps even better German cuisine. You can't beat the place for the relaxed friendly atmosphere, the decor is kitchy, and the location is beautiful; the view of the river alone is worth the price of the meal. Do not miss out on the chowder, their Manhattan clam is possibly the best in the area and the lobster bisque is not far behind. All of the seafood dishes are well prepared but the flounder Milanese we had this week was just perfect. And I know it is weird to go to a seafood place for German food, but Bahr's does it well. Their Jagerschnitzel is incredible, the veal is tender and the breading is light and crispy. And before I sign off I want to give a call out to our waiter Alex for service above and beyond on a very busy crazy evening, we never felt ignored or rushed.
Our party of 8 had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner thanks to the great food and Ann, our waitress. It could not have been better, and what a gorgeous view!
Thoroughly enjoyable from the pre dinner cocktails at the bar to the post dinner drinks at the table.
Food was outstanding as usual. Service was great. Atmosphere was wonderful.
If you're looking for historical nautical atmosphere this is definitely your spot! Our party of 4 totally enjoyed our Birthday lunch celebration!
Manhattan clam chowder & split pea soups...excellent! Mixed choices from Oktoberfest menu e.g. sauerbratten , wurst sampling, German potato salad, + crab cake platter & fish and chips...all outstanding!
Unbelievable apple strudel & German chocolate cake....cannot be duplicated!
Service was topnotch!!
Lovely location right on the docks, great water views. Big seafood menu, plus lunch specials, restaurant week menu, Oktoberfest items. Good service, was not too busy. Oysters Rock were good, crabcakes ok, scallops ok, schnitzel eh.
The food was delicious, but I think for Restaurant Week, for the price you paid maybe they could of offered a little more food.
Excellent service from Michelle.
Professional, attentive and anticipatory service.
Food was good and Bay/river/oceanfront view is always beautiful
We got to the restaurant and the person at front must have been new. She was very pleasant however there was a man cowering over her obviously making her very nervous and angrily telling her how to do things and what she was doing wrong. Not a great way to start the evening. We were shown to our seat and we felt like we were on a cruise ship. The floor was tilted much throughout the entire restaurant. Our waiter was excellent, my lobster pot pie was amazing. My husbands catch of the day Monk fish was very good, the potatoes tasted like they were roasted in rancid oil to me, string beans fresh and desserts were okay. The greeting we received put a damper on the whole evening. There was a large table near us with a child that had a tablet and it was playing a show EXTREMELY LOUD. I can't believe they were not asked to lower the volume. If it were just up to the food we would probably go back. The atmosphere and angry/anxious vibe that we felt negates that and we will not be returning.
