This is the place. Wether it’s a first date or 25 aniversary... you will not be disappointed!
Very nice service on a quiet Sunday night. Loved the Roosevelt!
My husband's omelet was runny eggs and while my hash was good, I had indigestion all afternoon because of the fat level.
This was not my favorite experience, but I was also not having a great day, so maybe I will need to try again.
I wish the food portion would be little but bigger due to expensive taste and cost of money .
We found Baela Rose on Open Table and thought we would give it a try. We found the food to be very delicious. We would eat here again. I also really enjoyed the refreshments.
Liz the waitress knew the menu and made great suggestions. Desserts were outstanding!
I ordered a trout entre and shared a salad with my friend. The salad had very little of the listed ingredients for the price.
My trout was very plain, no attempt at making it savory. The vegetables and potatoes were so spicy I couldn't tell what I was eating. The hot spice covered up the taste of the vegetables entirely.
I was very disappointed.
Enjoyed great family dinner with lots of food preferences accommodated - vegan, vegetarian, gluten free/dairy free. Even omnivores in our group were happy. Food presentation beautiful. Everything very flavorful. Relaxed, yet efficient service. We will be back.
The food was exquisite and the service attentive but unobtrusive. Very nice wine list. I highly recommend Baela Rose.
Finally ventured in for the first time and was very pleased. Food is very interesting, in a good way. Excellent choices for people with food restrictions. I look forward to returning.
Beautiful restaurant with lots of character. The menu includes many unusual and high-end ingredients which makes the choices interesting and unpredictable. We all enjoyed our entrees. The veggie chips are outstanding. The artisan cheese board offered many delicious taste combinations. The desserts were a bit disappointing. Maybe they are trying a little too hard to make them interesting when we really just wanted the desserts to be satisfying and yummy. The cocktails were lovely and the wine list is not huge but has many quality choices. The background music could have been more interesting and better suited to the atmosphere of the restaurant. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall a great experience.
Family get together at the holidays.
This is a great spot in Dundee. Beautiful decor. Wonderful wait staff. Nice wine and creative food choices!
Our adult children who came into Omaha from far and wide for a weekend of shared stories, memories, laughter, love -- as well as extraordinary food and wine -- couldn't have been more pleased with our Saturday evening restaurant choice! Thank you Baela Rose!
Ambience and food good; service was mediocre; bloody Mary’s not great; gave it four stars because of menu and food;
Outstanding as usual. The duck dishes were terrific. Presentations are so beautiful we hesitate to break them up.
Our waitress felt very informed about the menu and helpful with our choices. Sunday’s was half price bottles of wine which didn’t hurt either!
We dined on 10/26/2018. We were greeted and seated immediately, and had a drink order within seconds. The wine list is well-curated to pair well with entrees, and we ordered a 2013 Burgundy.
All entrees were paired with a root vegetable offering, which is perfectly in season. I had a seared duck breast (perfectly cooked to a medium rare) and my wife ordered the roasted chicken. We finished with a creme brulee. We will come back soon to Baela Rose.
The food was delicious. Our service was great. The wine list was comprehensive, and the cocktails quite tasty. If you’re unfamiliar with dishes like foie gras or beef tartare this is a great place to be a little adventurous and try some new things. I would recommend to friends and family.
Four of us had a delicious dinner at Baela Rose. The food was interesting and tasty. Service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant was nearly empty, which made it very easy to hold a conversation. We plan to return, and highly recommend Baela Rose.
The freshness of the ingredients in conjunction with the melding of flavors created a unique dining experience for our family. The handcrafted drinks, thoughtful wine list, brilliant charcuterie and mousse presentations, freshness of the lettuce leaves in the salad, are a few of the parts I will remember until our next visit.
The food was very good, but not much for the price.
Have been to Baela numerous times and have been impressed with the great varied food menu and exceptional service. Great for all occasions.
The menu was interesting and the dishes were full of flavor. I would highly recommend!!!
This is my third visit to Baela Rose. My two brothers and I ordered sweet corn risotto, bone marrow, duck, roasted cauliflower, chicken, scallops and spare ribs. Each item was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Be sure to go with 3 or more people, as you really need to order multiple dishes and share to get the full appreciation of the chef's genius.
We wanted to try them out, and Omaha Restaurant Week seemed like a good reason.
What we liked: The flavors were amazing. The pork belly was the best I've ever had, tender and juicy. My wife loved the compressed melon, cucumber, and watermelon. The food presentation was outstanding, and the plating was very attractive.
What we didn't like: First, the amount of food. My main course (short rib) was probably less than 4 ounces of meat and my wife only received 2 scallops. I get the "small food" concept, but I shouldn't be hungry at the end of a 4-course meal. Second, the service. The restaurant was only half full, and it took almost 30 minutes to receive the first course of their Restaurant Week selection. The table's standard setting is 2 forks and a knife, inadequate for a 4-course meal, and the server didn't bring additional service for her entree until it was on the table (with a small detour to the bar). Finally, I consider it bad form to bring the check along with the dessert. We had been there almost 90 minutes, but that was largely because of the delays in bringing our courses and the restaurant was still less than 3/4 full (in fairness, half the people would probably complain about waiting for the check).
Would we go back? I don't know. We liked everything we had, but I haven't decided if that trumps the drawbacks.
Tasting menu during Restaurant week was outstanding! Presentation of food was beautiful and tasted delicious. Great dining experience.
A really nice addition to the Omaha restaurant scene. Space matched the food: contemporary and innovative. Would visit again for casual upscale dining, whether on business or with friends.
Went for Omaha Restaurant Week. Enjoyed every moment of the experience. My wife and I were there during the main rush, but our server, Liz was helpful while navigating us through the different menu options. My wife went with the wine pairings and I opted for a couple different cocktails. Tried the basil Manhattan as well as the ten strike. Both were delicious, but the ten strike was a standout with the flavors of anise from the Pernod. Maybe a bit much for the inexperienced diner, but a true win for those that enjoy a treat of absinth. Her wine pairings were spot on throughout each course, the brunello with the steak was amazing! Each course got better and better. The scallops were delicately prepared and delicious with the beet risotto. The couscous with the steak was out of this world, and I’ve never tasted tortellini like that before. I’d recommend Baela Rose to anyone, as you can surely see the craft that goes into each aspect of the plating, wine pairing, cocktails and service. 10 stars!!! Thank you for making our anniversary a wonderful experience. Looking forward to many more visits soon, possibly even before restaurant Week is over!
Love this restaurant. Great food in taste and presentation. Drinks were outstanding. Service was excellent and made the meal experience positive. The Chef came to our table and he was very friendly and made us want to come back in the future. He is a pro and we are confident in his ability to prepare great meals for us.
We went to Baela Rose for Restaurant Week. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The scallops and short ribs were fantastic, as was the corn chowder (although we were disappointed that it was not very warm). Our waiter seemed distracted even though the restaurant was almost empty at 5:30. At one point he spilled water on the table as he was filling a glass, then just walked away. We later mopped up the table with one of our napkins! One diner could not get his attention for a second glass of wine and ultimately had to walk over to the bar to request one. Another time we tried to get his attention, but he was engrossed in conversation with the bartender. The food was very good, but the service did not rise to the high level of the food.
Good food. Poor service! The waitress's attention was hard to get. She didn't want to wait 30 seconds at the table while we went through some of the options with her. She acted like it was huge inconvenience and kept telling us that she would leave while we made our choices and then come back. I ordered a cocktail that was really horrible, and gave it back immediately, but was still charged for it. I would have accepted that in a cheaper establishment but when you're spending close to $200, that's just poor service! On the good side, the food was well cooked and the other cocktail was great! I would not go back there again. Just across the street are Mark's Bistro and Darios, both of which have great food and great service!
Wonderful food, pleasant service and nice clean look interior with lots of glass looking out onto the street.
Just a bit limited on the US wine selection. Plus side we tried a new wine and loved it.
Food seemed overpriced for what we got. Bacon was overcooked/tough. Bread on open-faced sandwich was overcooked/tough. For breakfast/brunch menu, surprised no fruit was offered on menu. Lacked healthy choices.
The dining here was an event. Everything was timed, prepared, and presented perfectly.
Baela Rose always delivers great food! Their brunch is phenomenal
Terrific! We loved the decor (exposed brick, lighting, furnishings) and the happy hour. Dinnner was great too - the sliced potatoe fries with cocktails was an excellent suggestion by our server, Lisa. The “board” was very good, and recommended by most reviewers, but better ones are available at other places.
