Badmaash Downtown LA
First time here. Food and ambiance are great. Lamb vindaloo is quite spicy so get the yogurt side! Delicious!
Amazing mix of options for veggie and meat lovers alike, this place is my new go-to to please everyone at the table. How can you not love the roti and naan to sop up the amazing sauces and curries? The service and ambiance was perfect for a birthday get-together as well as a quiet, early weekend dinner with a friend. Highly recommend all around. Must try. Wear your stretchy pants. Get the pickles.
Enjoyed a decent meal where the tikka masala samosas and chutney shined. The fried chicken and chili cheese naan was okay. On the pricier side, but then again it's DTLA. The ambiance is cute, would recommend for a second date.
Badmaash is consistently excellent. The food is outstanding and service is always great. We had the black lentils which in my opinion are the best thing on the menu and a must-have. The chili cheese naan is indulgent, a regular naan will do just fine but this is extra. We also tried the seafood Moilee which had a really delicious mild curry sauce. Got a half plate of pickles which was huge! I can't imagine what the full portion is like.
Great food. Great friends and great atmosphere!
Food was fresh, delicious and actually, beautiful. Service was stellar. A wee bit noisy but we were able to sit upstairs, which helped. Definitely recommend.
An interesting take on classic Indian favorites with a modern, sometimes American sometimes Canadian twist. Highly recommended to anyone that is a fan of Indian food in general.
Great service great food. Alittle on the loud side, but worth the food.
it was good. I love this place. food tastes great and the service was awesome
The Gandhi picture with sunglasses is offensive to Indians
Phenomenal. Indian food tapas style. Will not regret.
Food quality was poor. Eat Indian food all the time and this was so disappointing. Naan bread was burnt in center. Peas inside Samosa were undercooked and raw. Chicken tikka and butter chicken were over cooked - overall just poor. Seated upstairs. Loud and crowded - small tables. So disappointing was expecting much better
Really the best Indian Food in the country. So different, flavorful, and just all around delicious.
Service was great but rushed. Food is Overrated. Ceilings are dingy need a good cleaning
Great food and service. Love all the items we selected. I would defiantly return to try other items on the menu.
Terrific food in nice decor. Nice people and good service.
Excellent service excellent food best Indian food in town
I had heard great things about the restaurant, and it did not disappoint. My guests just loved it.
The restaurant had Brooklyn vibe with great ambiance, but food was lack luster. Portions were small and the flavor lacked complexity, unless you count the surprise burst of spice you got from the whole fennel sprinkled onto various dishes. The dishes seemed light, made with less oil than Indian food I’ve ever had before. Made me wonder, where is the ghee?
Great food amazing service
Great food and super friendly staff. Great experience all around.
Delicious food ! Good service ! Loud & regular ambience ! Value for money!
Awesome experience! Will definitely eat there again!
Best, as usual.
Had a reservation for 10 and still had to wait outside for 30 min. Quantity of chaat was definitely not worth the price (4 puris for 9 dollars).
It was really disappointing. I’m vegetarian and ordered the Broccoli for 16$ - it was a really small portion, cold, charred and soaked in oil .
Naan bread was four tiny pieces for bread.
A Badmaash is a bad guy but the food is all kinds of good. 5 star yummy!
Great food! Everything was delicious. And our waitress was very helpful.
Loved the food. It was some what noisey, and I wished they played Indian music
One of the first restaurants I visited in downtown LA when I moved here last year, and they never disappoint! Great food and great service every single time!
The poutine was as amazing as usual! The pickled vegetables were more vinegry and not crunchy as usual. The mango mousse was warm and melting. A bit disappointed by this last visit.
Good food. Too noisy/loud. Hard to talk.
This place was amazing! Was not at all disappointed. Just glad my husband and I made a reservation for a table because this place is small. Oh, and we will be back!! :)
The food was amazing. The price to portion ratio is just slightly skewed but the taste makes up for it. We tried 9 dishes and only 2 were something I wouldn't want to eat again. Overall just great and I can't wait to come back.
Great vibe and energy. A twist on traditional Indian food does have its pros and cons. I'm glad they provide both options.
Great place to go > comfort food for sure ! Walk around the city to burn off that "overstuffed" after dinner and hit up some of the fun night spots.
I am Indian and this probably wasn't the best place to take my parents. The traditional Indian food was okay and overpriced, but it seems like the restaurants specializes in non-traditional Indian food such as the chicken Tikka poutine or lamb burger. This could be a good place to take someone who may be hesitant to try Indian food.
I make a "pilgrimage" to Badmaash in DTLA when I can just to enjoy their Ghost Chili Lamb Vindaloo. Never have I had a SPICY curry that is soooo flavorful. It never has let me down. All I wish is that they started stocking some Indian beers like Kingfisher to go with the meal.
I am Indian and I really loved how they had given an American twist to the traditional Indian. It was something out of the box and I would definitely recommend everyone to go and visit it once!
One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten! I’m sure the ambiance improves as the night wears on. We had a 5pm reservation to make it to a concert by 7. I 100% recommend this place.
