Badmaash Downtown LA
Simply try everything!
The food is very good and a bit in the expensive side because we are used to more reasonably priced Indian food. The restaurant is loud but the waiters are actually very fun and engaging. The seating is cramped close together which I think is part of the style but also because the space is not that big including the second floor. The parking is either on the street or around the corner in a public lot. Those are the negatives but all in all it was very good food a little bit pricey and I would go there again if I am downtown.
Always the best.
Disappointed in the service but food was good.
Mushroom vindaloo is to die for. Can't get it out of my head.
Im sure this place is great for people that enjoy spicy food. The food had great texture just to dang hot for my mouth.
Loved this restaurant! One of the best Indian restaurants in LA.
They made us wait outside in the cold till our entire party was there which was frustrating
Worst food I've had in a really long time. Make me sick to the stomach, literally and figuratively, that restaurant like Badmaash is reviewed highly in some 'list'. Naan was served cold; fried chicken was mostly overcooked salty batter; $24 for about 5 nuggets of sea bass curry. Will tell everyone how bad this Badmassh is.
A cool hip vibe. The project Bollywood movies on the wall (nice touch) A little noisy. Watch your tongue on the spice level.
Great interesting food. We will come back next time we are in LA.
Loved everything we ate and we ordered a lot heh
Went to restaurant on busy Saturday evening. Server was nice, but had many tables and thus was not attentive to us as she had several larger parties. The appetizers—samosas and catfish bites were good. However, entree dishes, butter chicken and lamb vindaloo were not good at all. Naan was burned and rice was cold. Meal cost $150 for 4 people without ordering alcohol and without ordering dessert.
Best poutine ever!
Best restaurant in LA. Always.
I was a party of 2. When I got there, the other person in my party was parking the car. They told me that they couldn’t seat me until my whole party was present. So I waited out in the cold. At some point they went to retrieve two people outside to be seated. They were a party of 4 but only two of them were there. They seated them even though their entire party wasn’t there. When I went inside to ask why I couldn’t be seated but they could, the rude waitstaff told me “you will be seated when your whole party is here.” When I asked how that made any sense since they had seated the party of 2 out of 4, they repeated the same answer back.
So I went and stood out in the cold again because for some reason they could be seated but I couldn’t be.
This place has terrible customer service. How does that make any sense?! Everything about Badmaash’s enterprise is annoying. Why is rice $3 for two scoops of rice. Why do you refuse to have takeout orders? Do you live in 2019?? Do not recommend.
Even though we had a reservation, we waited for a further 30 minutes for our table...on a Tuesday night! And, there’s no place to wait except outside in the cold. This is a popular place! Good Indian food!
Excellent Indian food (I had the butter chicken and samosas as appetizer). Only issue was not being able to order take-out from the DTLA location. If you're in DTLA and enjoy Indian food, give them a try!
Amazing food! A must go hidden gem in the heart of Downtown LA! Can't wait to go back!
Great food great service! If I were staying in LA again I would go back without a doubt.
Best Indian food since Mumbai, with a lovely and attentive staff. A nice mix of traditional and innovative dishes all with wonderful spice profiles. The broccolini was a surprising standout. Have the $2 chai tea on a chilly winter day to warm the soul.
The most delicious food I have had in a long time!
Good was so good! Butter chicken was crisp on the outside, incredibly moist n tender inside.
Samosas full of filing and not greasy. Punjabi chickpeas with Basmati rice was delicious. Can't wait to go back.
The menu is limited. The portions were small. The prices were high.
I heard about Badmaash while watching a YouTube video and am so glad I convinced my friends to go with me while we were in LA. The food was great, the service was so speedy and super friendly. They made great recommendations and were so helpful since we were there for the first time. Highly recommend the Butter Chicken samosas and the chili cheese naan...SO GOOD!! Definitely make a reservation if possible because it got super crowded while we were there.
Absolutely excellent! As an English person living in LA I struggle to find any good Indian food, let alone modern Indian cuisine. Everything was outstanding. Very fun atmosphere, great service and super yummy food.
We had a corner table so could really have a great conversation while enjoying the delicious food - the best Indian cuisine I’ve ever had!
I love the food. Delicious!! I would recommend people to try it.
Indian-Canadian fusion — who knew how awesome that combination would be? The folks behind Badmaash, that’s who. Four of us ate our way through the menu, enjoying the range of tastes and textures — but had to say the poutine was the best. Great service, great vibe.
Love it so much
The food is always fantastic! Some menu items are way over-priced; I paid $18 for chicken tikka and got 3 small pieces. Overall, great experience
Great attentive service
All was acceptable until the hostess came over while paying the bill, she asked that we hurry and leave because they needed the table. I've never in my life been asked that by a restaurant I was paying to eat at. Completely unacceptable when you're spending $150.00 for average Indian cuisine. I wasn't the only table being asked to leave.....
We have had several dinners here and enjoyed it in the past. The food didn't hit the mark this time. We were comparing it to Tamarind in New York where we had recently dined. The chicken was not spicy enough and did't have the complex spices one expects in this dish.
Had a reservation at 7:30 but didn’t get seated until 8:10 :(
Food was unique and delicious!! Great DTLA vibe.
Texture on all dishes great but NO FLAVOR completely bland and outrageously over priced
We waited 30 min tire
Badmaash is always yummy! This time I was introducing a friend who had not been there before, and I think he is a convert. On the outing, it seemed to me that Badmaash was watching my girlish figure; the portions were quite modest. As I am actually in a slimming mode, this was quite acceptable, but I could see being disappointed if that were not the case.
This is one of my favorite Indian places ever!! I’ve been a badmash fan for over 5 years now. Always a good time
