   Excellent restaurant for food quality, ambiance and service. My recommendation is to add more California wines to the wine closet. French wines can be great, but so are California wines.

   First time to Bacquet’s, it won’t be our last. My wife had scallops and I had Chilean sea bass. It was incredible.

   Grabbed dinner here on my single night in Boise based on reviews that suggested this was a great local place (and they host a drag brunch so I love to show support of that kind of business). Anyway, food is ok (underseasoned), ambiance with live musician was terrific. Wine is expensive as everyone notes but no one mentioned that you purchase the wine from a store in the back (where the sommelier/waiter seemed ruder than was necessary at a local haunt in Boise)--no bar--just wine to purchase by the glass or bottle so they def gouge you there. French onion soup was ok (not the 'best you've never had' as the description said but a good soup topped with bread too tough to chew). My server was nice (and rescued me from the interminably long wait at the wine counter from the rude guy who would not make eye contact)

   I am so, so sorry that I asked Chef to assist with wine tasting that night, rather than sent him home, but we were celebrating his birthday! He likely assumed your taste for wine was similar to more in line with your Rolex. Shame on him! Our wines are predominantly French, with glasses starting at $10. The French chenin blanc you chose was very reasonably priced at $12.50/glass. There are less expensive California wine at other local restaurants, but we only serve what we would drink ourselves. If you stop by again, I recommend not customizing your plate and enjoying the dish as designed by Chef. Thank you for stopping by and putting a spring in the step of our waiter and friend.    What a delightful evening. We each enjoyed a different dish and shared a delicious dessert. Service was impeccable, warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was inviting and romantic with white linens and candlelight. Since it was a week night, it was quiet and relaxed. We were able to enjoy a long and leisurely dinner and conversation! We felt that it was a perfect evening. Thank you!

   Service was attentive, but not intrusive. Food was fabulous. Glass of wine was a little pricey. Chef came and visited our table personally to inquire on our meal!

   Made reservations for Duck dinner for two. noted 56 year anniversary, waitress had no idea that we had that specific request. we had escargo appetizer it was great as usual. The Duck dinner was excellent. We have celebrated our Anniversary at your Resteraunt for the last 3 years. See you next time. Dave & Pam

    What can I say beyond SIMPLY FANTASTIC! I love in Salt Lake City. I travel to Boise about every 45-90 days. I do so mainly to eat at Bacquets. Yes, we drive 350 miles each way to go to dinner at Bacquets. I have traveled the world extensively. I love French food. I love escargot. Now, my wife’s escargot is the best in the world. Che MuthaFuckah Franck’s are second best. Every time we go, the service is impeccable, the atmosphere is amazing, when there has been live music it fit the ambience perfectly. I always look forward to heating the specials. Last visit I had the veal saltimbocca, which was the special. It did not disappoint as it stayed in line with the excellence of everything Franck does. Two visits ago I was there to enjoy the Clam Chowder….sheesh, I’m picky about Clam Chowder. It was the best I’ve had. 3 days after my Mom died in September of 2022, my Dad flew in from Montana, I rode in from Salt Lake City, and my wife flew in from Colorado, JUST so we could have dinner and a bottle of Rosè Dom Perignon. It would have been the perfect meal for my Mom. Ok, I’m rambling. Bacquets is in the top 5 best restaurants, not in Boise, but the world. Go there now. You will feel like family. It’s amazing.
