Personable, but not pushy service, great food. One of our favorites, can't wait to come back!
Baco is our favorite restaurant and we love Miguel. Only issue this time around was the portion for the Hamachi seemed small.
Excellent food - definitely some inventive flavor combinations you won't find anywhere else in LA. Habitual diner at this restaurant, and 10/10 would go again. Just be ready for a lively atmosphere (inside, at least!).
Nobody can do veggies like Baco Mercat! We tried five different plates and loved them all. The octopus and the skirt steak were perfect, as well.
So Good! Everything was excellent, I cant wait to go back next time I'm in town. Go Eat Here!
Great place to go out for a date or just have a great meal!
Generally very good food with sometimes slow service and VERY uncomfortable chairs.
Food was absolutely incredible! Our group of eight had the best time there! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Food very tasty and interesting combinations for a foodie. This is not the place to come if more than 2-4 in party. Seats very uncomfortable, tables small, and noise level so loud you can not hear person across the table. There were 7 of us and we ordered to share. Restaurant not accomodating about cutting food into sharing pieces. Make sure you ask about each dish and how it is served. i.e 3 small meatballs does not make it for 7 people. I suggest ordering more traditionally - appetizers for every one or two people and main for each one or two. Ordered 9 dishes for 7 people and some of us left hungary.
The menu initially seems brief, but that deceptive appearance is misleading. The options in each section are quite varied in substance, texture and flavor. Nonetheless, Mediterranean styles predominate throughout. Each selection was very good, though not to the level of rapture that would merit a full 5 stars. Still, a solid, delicious option.
It is the much needed refresh to your weekend dinner menu.
Very good Vegan friendly restaurant with many fun tapas style small plates to share. We tried the caramelized cauliflower, brussels sprouts, citrus salad with the house bread. Delicious and healthy eating. Signature cocktails were tasty and right on par for expected cost. I'd recommend Baco Mercat as a fun place to take a date or if you're looking for a trendy / upscale eatery in DTLA.
Outrageous flavors in all their salads and veggie dishes. Combinations you would never think go well together. Went for dinner and came back for lunch the next day cause I had to explore more of their menu. Favorite restaurant in LA! Thanks for the great experience!
We went on Sunday at 5:00 for an early dinner. Our son was catching a train out of Union Station and it’s very convenient. The place was empty at opening on Sunday but the hostess gave us the worst table in the joint right next to the entrance door. I politely asked for a better table and she begrudgingly gave us one. But our waiter was very nice and the specialty cocktails were excellent. I had the salt and honey drink that featured scotch and grilled pineapple- it was delicious. We ordered lots of little plates to share which I highly recommend so you can try lots of different dishes. Our favorite was the meatball with bread. The bread was fresh and hot flatbread- very good! All the other food was good not incredible. But it’s a cute place with restored old school desk chairs and an industrial vibe. It’s fun and i would go back.
We've tried new things every time we've returned. Everything was unusual and super-delicious. Favoriites so far are the beet salad and the hamachi. I'd skip the flatbreads--good, but not among the really unususl things on the menu.
This is my go-to LA restaurant. There's nothing better than Baco Mercat. Predictably delicious, wonderfully attentive, deliciously inventive ... Here for EVERYTHING they have to offer.
Amazing food! Great service! Perfect experience!
The service was excellent - but it was about the food. The Pork Shoulder. All the salads. Everything we had was great. Will Recommend. Will return. They need a bottle of wine for around $40.
One of my favorite sports in LA!
Most of the food was good. I haven't been there in a while and there was little change in the menu which was disappointing. The appetizers we chose were quite good. I got the Baco O.G. which had a chunk of bone in it and an odd flavor to the beef tongue which was off putting. No one asked how the food was The service was really slow for ordering, but the food came very quickly. Getting more drinks was difficult as well. I have had better experience here in the past. It seems they either had an off night or are slipping. Wasn't good enough to go back and find out.
Soo many wonderful dishes to choose from. Flavors were layered and well orchestrated. Drinks were well curated with the dishes. Service was helpful, attentive and timed well.
One minor negative comment is regarding the wine that I selected was a disappointment.
A lively room with interesting interpretations of largely middle-eastern style foods. BUT -- if you're there on a night with fried chicken, that's always a winner!
The food was fine, the service was confusing, and all our food came at once which was overwhelming.
Everything was great. We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the restaurant.
Second time I’ve been here. It’s a cute spot and definitely on the trendy end of dtla. Love the idea of it and the menu seems to cover a broad areas of interest for me (and I’m sure the avid foodie). But I cannot justify the price to taste ratio. The food is quality but I felt ripped off for the quantity and flavor for the price. It wasn’t bad, just expensive for what you are getting.
Food was very tasty and different!
The bar tenders, hostess and wait staff were not very friendly and we didn't like the overall vibe of the place. The sprouts and octopus are overpriced and over seasoned but the og baco was the bomb if we lived in the area we'd grab it for take out but otherwise we wouldn't return.
Delicious puffy bread and dips, and delectable meatballs. The apple salad is super fresh and different.
A bit hard to catch a waiter. Food was overall pretty good: Mecican and Italian fusion style.
Our waiter was one of the best I’ve had in recent memory...
My favorite Restaurant in LA. Josh the Manager is great and service and food are the best!
The food here is amazing, not a single dish was just okay.
Super yummy. Best flank steak ever. Cauliflower was heaven sent. Chocolate hazelnut dessert ruled the world.
The food was great and i love the pineapple upside down cake!! The server was great!
Excellent flavors and great selection. The Brussels sprouts were incredible:)
Food is simply amazing!!!!
Very enjoyable experience.
We love Baco!
Great food, service, wine. We enjoyed the three small plates that we ordered for a pre-concert meal. We walked from Disney hall but ubered back up the hill. Food was exceptional and service very pleasant.
Great food but expensive for entrees. I was in the back by restroom doors so didn’t experience much “ambiance “. Looked like a sandwich shop.
