Just found out that they are going out of business next week!!!!!
The restaurant was very accommodating. The weather was terrible so the entire party was late, but the hostess kept our seats available. Food selection was great and beer selection, of course, was fantastic. We were a party of 7 and able to hear our conversation, but the restaurant wasn’t exactly quiet which was great. Enjoyable atmosphere and good parking options. Definitely recommend.
Perfect before a show at the warner theater
The venue is loud but that is the typical type bar atmosphere. I liked it.
After many visits to Backstage over a period of time it is good to see that many of the features that keep me returning haven't changed, except for the better. The menu includes many unique food choices and much of the ingredients are locally sourced. Although I do not drink Backstage's selection of beers and wines constantly changes so you can never tire of trying something new. The wait staff is attentive and friendly and looks after you as if you were family. Highly recommend that you try Backstage whether before a show at the Warner Theater next door or when you are just out for a good dinner.
We were seated promptly, and our waitress came right away for our beverage order. We had small plates....one had mussels, one had a steak quesadilla, and we shared a plate of Brussels sprouts.....everything was delicious, and the "small plates" were generous servings. Our waitress was attentive. An enjoyable pre-concert meal. Not my first time at Backstage, and it won't be the last.
Waiter was rushing us quite a bit. Food was excellent. Service could’ve been much better
The waitress was very friendly. The service was slow it took forever to get waters for the table. They had plenty of help. Our wine was warm. Our food was room temperature, expensive. We received our bill before we we got our second glass of wine. I would never go back again and I would never recommend it to a friend. We disappointed!
I've eaten here with friends many times and the food is very good, but not exceptional. The only criticism I have is that I generally attend right before an afternoon opera and even though I have gone to the trouble of making a reservation, I still have to stand in line and wait. There should be a separate person to take care of those with reservations.
my wife & I have been going to backstage for a long time & enjoy it very much -the only problem we had ( including this past Saturday) was the length it took to get our food -this is not a reflection of our server in any way; I think his name is mike -he was great -but it took 45 minute's from the time we ordered our food until we got it - I realize it is busy on Saturday's, but this is not the first time that this has happened -but rest assured ;this will in no way affect our dining at backstage -we will most definitely continue dine & recommend your facility to friend's regard's Michael emery
1st visit before a show at the Warner. Great appetizers and dinner. Noted GF options so definitely will return with GF Household member.
Food cooked to order
Good portions. Manager came to table to make sure everything was okay.
We enjoyed our dining experience at Back Stage prior to seeing a show. The menu has many unusual and interesting selections at various price levels, so no complaints there. The food presentation was excellent. We even ordered a dessert....couldn't resist. The food was excellent, and the drinks, too. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a laid back atmosphere with good food and drink. And if you are attending a show at the Warner or Nancy Marine Studio, the choice for a pre-or post show dinner/drink is a no brainer!
Service was awesome , Cynthia was very attentive and friendly, food was great,we had a great time!!
We made a reservation on Open Table, and we’re seated at a booth as requested.
The appetizers and the main courses were as good as expected. Portions or large, especially for the salads
A very pleasant dining experience. Excellent value for the seasonal special menu for CT restaurant week.
Although the food was excellent the restaurant was unable to handle the crowd that came in that night, most of them for a Judy Collins/Stephen Stills Concert at the next door Warner Theater. The manager took $20 off a bottle of wine to soften the mess of the night but the service was ill organized and extremely slow. I can recommend Back Stage for the food but stay away if there is an event at the Warner.
Food was subpar, veggie burger was mushy and tasteless, cavatelli was overcooked. Fried mozzerella was very good but overpriced. Not a good night.
We were traveling and found this restaurant on Open Table. If going that way again, I would return. The appetizer was great, local tomato with mozzarella cheese and balsamic vinegar. This is an app we really love and have often at many restaurants, this was one of the best. For dinner we had the chicken cordon bleu and the roast chicken. By far the roast chicken was better. The chicken cordon bleu had an unfamiliar taste which wasn't appealing and unlike any we had experienced in the past. The potatoes and veggies on each of the plates were good.
For dessert we had the apple crisp with ice cream and coffee, both were great as was the friendly service we experienced with all the staff we came into contact with.
We had a great meal
The service was great!
We sat outside as the weather was beautiful
The inside dining was a little over air conditioned
We had tickets to a play so it was the perfect spot!
All in all a wonderful evening
