Beautiful setting in The Woodlands Resort, overlooking the golf course. Service was excellent as well as my breakfast. Directions to location on site were informative and plenty of free parking. Loved, loved the patio! Will be back!
Loved our server Sharon, she made it over the top special.
Our server was lovely - very nice and attentive. Food was not good for the prices they are charging. We ordered a piece of cake which was so dry. It tasted like they pulled out of a Sara Lee box and put it on a plate. Would not go back.
I am so glad you enjoyed the service, but I am sorry to hear your feedback on value. Our chef uses organic ingredients and everything is housemade. We typically get so many compliments on our desserts, I am so sorry it was dry! Please come back and try us again- so you can experience the great dessert we are known for.
Thought the restaurant was kept a bit cold. My husband was even cold who normally isn't. Selection of food was okay.
Please let us know next time on the temperature! I am sorry you were chilly. Come back again soon!
The food was average. Not sure if it was quite worth the price or “ resort “ quality. Wait time was awful. We waited an hour and a a half for our food. The waiter was friendly, but he was definitely waiting too many tables at a time. They need more waiters so that guests are not having to wait hours for service.
I am so sorry that you had a wait! We strive to deliver great service and great food to every guest. Thanks for noting our outdoor dining as a highlight- we agree. We hope to have you back so we can have a chance to show you the amazing food we are known for.
It was loud, the food took a long time to come out and we ordered the shrimp and grits and the shrimp was raw.
They did take it off the bill and apologized. The server was sweet and it wasn’t her fault but overall I miss Robards
Robards was a little gem in The Woodlands, now its been turned into just another sports bar. Screaming children, TV screens everywhere and no ambiance. The food was pricey and sides were extra. I had the duck fat fries, normally they’d be crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, these were soggy and looked like normal fries. My husband had the short rib, said it was tasty but more like a pot roast. I had the pulled pork sandwich, it was ok, couldn’t pick it up to eat as the bun was soggy and falling apart. All in all better restaurants that are better value in the area.
Went for brunch on Labor Day weekend, resort was full, restaurant was empty. Always a bad sign.
EXTREMELY limited menu. Slow service and overpriced food. Would not recommend or return. Too many better options nearby. Disappointing overall experience
The Patty Melt was superb! The view is awesome if you are lucky you’ll be able to enjoy the hummingbirds.
Beautiful patio that is dog-friendly and looks over the 18th island green at Panther Trails course. Food was delicious.
This restaurant was so loud and noisy you could not enjoy the company at the table.
They allowed kids to run all around the place and allowed them to scream and play through the dining area.
Very disappointing experience! It took an hour to get our food and 30 minutes to run credit cards!! ....upscale barfood, nothing fancy. Fried Fish was the best thing on the table. Staff is very relaxed and not attentive at all! Group of 8 of us and all agree we would not go back. Unfortunate as it has potential to be really great!
Great food, just very very slow to get served and receive drinks and food. Very strange because the entire restaurant was about 30% full. Once food was received, it exceeded our expectations.
Outside - lots of items ordered from menu were not available including Ramen, pate (is there a chicken liver shortage I’m unaware of?), and something else. Pricey but we’re at a resort. If you’re staying here it’s a good option but I wouldn’t go out of the way to dine here.
Everything was just good. Nothing however was great, and that is ok…most of the time. The restaurant feels confused. Like it’s not sure what it wants to be. The website and the buildup of what this restaurant is, don’t line up with the reality though. I really expected it to be much nicer and more upscale than what it was based on menu offerings. It’s not. It’s very casual. So much so that The food offerings almost don’t make sense. The proteins were all really good. The sides however were not. Again, not terrible…but just fell well short of the billing.
Had a relatively enjoyable evening, but I’ll leave this one for the tourist and vacationers.
The good: Server was just lovely and accommodating.
The bad: VERY VERY SLOW. It wasn’t just our table. This is a casual place, not meant to be a lingering fine dining experience. Food was served over an hour after we sat down, and all four of us ordered one of their recommended nightly specials. The idle time kinda prompted us to order a second cocktail to fill the time. (Maybe this is their plan.) We noticed one group changed their order to To-Go after waiting so long…probably had to get back to babysitter.
Suggestion: Management needs to serve an amuse-bouche, even bread or popcorn, or comp an appetizer/drink, or SOMETHING when these things happen. Or at least personally acknowledge the situation.
We had high expectations for this restaurant since it was on site at the resort. However, the variety of entrees was lacking and the children's menu dinners were very plain and unappealing for the price. I ordered the chicken and it didn't come with any sides except a strange lump of salad. So just a huge chicken and nothing to go with it basically. Our waiter was very nice, but he did not know much about the menu selections and pronounced several of the foods incorrectly oh, so that was awkward 4 a place that should be considered semi-upscale for the price of the dinners. The oysters were $4 each and were nothing spectacular. My husband ordered the pork sandwich and it also came with no sides and no sides were offered. Just a sandwich on a plate for $18. We also had to wait about 40 minutes before getting our food and the table next to us actually got up and left because they had waited so long. Overall the place has a fun atmosphere with live music but the food was definitely lacking and way too expensive for what you get.
The waitstaff had no knowledge of the items on menu. When a sauce was spilled he offered to bring a rag so WE could clean it.
Go for the food. But there will be service issues. Our 2nd visit was worse than the 1st. 20+ minutes to get a cocktail. 40 minutes wait for the food order — and worse the salads arrived WITH the entrees. Inexperienced wait staff was surprised that we wanted salads BEFORE the main meal. Desserts include donuts that were bought weeks ago at a grocery store. We had problems throughout the meal and never saw a manager/supervisor or had anyone apologize for the suffering. But…the food was good…..but.
Food was great. I will definitely be back to try more options out.
I can't find a word for this place other than weird. The decor is weird, the menu is weird, the feeling I had after having there, weird. I honestly can't explain it. It's like nothing about this place works. I guess I get the whole southern concept, but keep it simple and just provide quality southern food. I ordered the duck and while the flavor of the duck was good, the sides underneath were cold and tasteless. My husband had the chicken and it was just okay, nothing special. He ordered a side of mashed potatoes and everyone at the table swore it was from a box. A friend ordered the shrimp and grits and said it was nothing special. Our waitress was nice enough but service was slow so we decided to go to whiskey cake for dessert. We won't be back.
Deviled eggs and beer can chicken were excellent. Star of the night was the cheesecake milkshake.
The restaurant itself is very very nice. The staff was nice/friendly. The food was very hit or miss. The Denver steak was outstanding, and the lump crab mac n cheese was as well. Their gumbo....is not gumbo, in the traditional sense. It also lacked seasoning/flavor. It was quite bland. We also ordered the shrimp and grits. The shrimp was cooked very well....but the grits were so bad, just awful. They too were very very bland and too think in consistency. i'm going to maybe assume it was an off night for them with regards to the gumbo and grits. I do overall recommend the restaurant.
It was very loud but the food was good and service was good. if a bit slow.
Several items were not available on the menu and it took at least 30-45 minutes to get drinks. We ordered and two hours later our food came out
My experience at this restaurant were poor. The menu is lack luster at best, there are no dishes that really appeal to the palette other than burgers/sandwiches. When asked to see the Dinner Menu, they do not serve Dinner before a certain time. This is understandable, but our server was rude in addressing this. Also, if you would like to continue to get more business, that menu needs to be addressed. Pulled pork or a chicken sandwich is not worth $14. That needs to be better, period. Until changes are made, we will not be returning.
Pretty good experience! We were celebrating my daughters 16th birthday. The food was pretty good. The wait staff was attentive. I love that fact that they had a live singer. I definitely plan to visit again. Big shout out to Sharon our waitress she went beyond expectations to make sure we were taken care of.
Great service and good food with appealing presentation. Highly recommend the beet salad and bib lettuce wedge salad. Modern, attractive decor, with nice view. Somewhat loud due to all the hard surfaces, rock, wood and metal. We had an early reservation. A nice combo was playing in the other room behind the bar which added to the noise level in the restaurant area. Would have liked to hear them better, just not while eating and conversing. Interestingly, the TV in the dining room was set to women’s wrestling which didn’t fit the ambiance. Suggest the golf channel should be the appropriate default. But all in all - a very nice experience, which exceeded expectations and we’ll definitely come back.
Incredible fusion of foods. Different. Tasty. Lovely experience. Our wait staff - knowledgeable, helpful, down to earth - made this experience wonderful! We will be back!
Amazing food and service!
We tried the Back Table Kitchen last night. I ordered the charcuterie plate and added rhe cheese plate and the foie gras so the total was around $50. The “cheese plate” is three “different” cheddars cheeses from the same dairy-they taste exactly the same and only differ in their rub. I asked to speak to the chef as neither server that I spoke to could identify any of the cheeses or meats (other than, you know, cheddar) but the chef was “too busy” to speak with me . The “charcuterie” was prosciutto, just prosciutto. It’s not locally sourced as their menu claims-the cheese at least comes from California. The pickled veggies were good, especially the pickled watermelon. The foie gras was weird-light and airy like it had been whipped? I didn’t like it, my husband did.
My husband had the shrimp and grits-the shrimp was cooked well and he liked the grits but found the other things in the dish not great The drinks were good and fun. It’s very, very loud.
We might go back on a slower, quiet night and give it another go. Most likely not
Great food and service as well as beautiful and open restaurant
Very nice restaurant. Small area for kids to play shuffle board and fuse board. Food was really good. Very large portions.
Limited menu after 9 was not told this.
Excellent food and service
Food and service were both outstanding! Drinks were delicious as well. The food did take a little longer to come out, but we were not in any hurry. We will be back!
We were greeted upon arrival and offered complimentary valet parking which was awesome since we had a toddler. Hostess was very polite and we enjoyed the patio overlooking Arnold Palmer’s 18th hole over the relaxing lake view - this is arguably the best back patio I’ve dined at in Houston. Food presentation and plating was inviting and supportive of the contents, we enjoyed it! Timeliness of service was ok, just took longer for the adult plates to come out other than that can’t wait to return for the new happenings with live music.
We went last night as it was recommended to us by a friend. Unfortunately we were disappointed. We didn't really enjoy the food. It was just ok. The service was just average too.
Birthday dinner for my 11 year old was great ! I fell and hurt my knee on the way to the restaurant and the staff there was amazing helping me out with first aid.
We had a great first time experience! Food was excellent and service wonderful!
