Great spot for a reasonably priced high quality meal in an area flooded with overpriced alternatives. Server was great, place was full but still got us everything in an appropriate amount of time. Would recommend.
The drink selection was good and the service was quite good, but the food was a little boring and overpriced. Great location.
Perfect for pre/post theater. I ordered the thai chicken salad and it was delicious!
Pleased with our service. We had a reservation and were asked if we were going to the theater which we were. We were seated almost immediately despite the crowd waiting. Our waitress was prompt and the food came out in a timely fashion. We both had salads that were fine, the winter salad with chicken was lacking the walnuts which I guess they had run out of. Wine was good. I would go back to the Back Deck,
Great find, walked by this place many times but decided to try it before going to the Opera House. Was very happy we did! The food was outstanding! The value was great too, we will definitely go back!! I was a little disappointed with our server , I understand there are a lot of folks having dinner before a show, but I didn't find her attentive and we had to ask for things rather than her coming and seeing/asking if we were ok. But I would still recommend going.
2nd time there. It is a great place for dinner after a visit to the Opera house or Paramount and a fun area
We were heading to the theater and wanted to have dinner beforehand. The food was delicious, very fresh and the service was so quick! We had plenty of time to spare! Small plates and large which was great - you can’t take left-overs to the theater! The manager came by to ask how everything was, I like that. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
The quality of the food was poor. One person order a turkey burger which was very dry. The other person ordered the Thai salad which uneventful. Was in a booth which used cloth cushions which very stained.
Great restaurant to go to before the theatre, as it is close to The Boston Opera House and the Paramount. Excellent food, not too pricey and fast, efficient service.
We enjoyed our meals pre theater. Food served hot and drinks good. A great buy in the heart of theater district.
Great location for convenience to theater. Scampi was just okay. I think I’ll have better luck trying the burgers.
Great spot right for dinner right near the theater! We have been a couple of times and will go back again. Very good food, service is usually quick and pleasant. Downsides - tables for two are very close together so at times it almost like eating with 4 strangers (2 people left, 2 people right) so certainly not a place for private conversations over dinner - tables for 4 are fine so go with friends! Menu is a little limited - but what we have had is very good.
Great food and cocktails
We had a great time at The Escape Room (no, we didn't make it out) and then walked 4 doors down to the Back Deck and had a wonderful meal in a fun atmosphere.
Not bad, but service was a bit slow. It was one of only a few places in the area that could quickly seat 5 on a Friday night, which is why we chose this restaurant. Nothing bad, but nothing great about this place.
Server was great. Salad advertised as big but was pretty small, although tasty, and overpriced. Ambiance not great-felt like I was in a cafeteria. Would go back for quick bite if other places were full.
Went here before seeing a show at the Boston Opera House. Good service and food, awesome proximity to show venue
Great spot for brunch. Gluten-free options appreciared.
The service was excellent, from the hostess to the waitress, to the food runners. The food was okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't wow we definitely need to come back.
Great place!!! Would def go again. Great location. Good food.
The food was good and I felt safe that my meal with gluten free. The service was good, if a bit slow but I think they cut a lot of staff because it was close to closing on NYE.
Awesome food and wine. Highly recommend
Food was fantastic. Very creative variations on familiar dishes. Food is aboce average. And rhe appearance was pleasant. Thats where ut ends for me.
The service was below average.
We were seated in a spot where my
chair was in a walk way and i menrioned it was a bad spot (plenty of tables were open elsewhere) i was assured it would be fine and was not offered another table. Sure enough i had to keep moving my chair to let servers by.
The chairs were "back deck" wood chairs that were very unconfortable and painful after a long stay. A cushion would help. Waitress was not knowledgable of ingredients of dishes and was quure slow. We waited a long time for check, then an added 15 minites to pick up oayment. In an uncomfortable chair.
The manager came around and asked how everything was, i told him i was unhappy with location and why, and he said hopfuly you can enjoy the rest of your meal (this was after the people on ither side if my chair had left).
Its too bad, because the food was awesone.
Loved their different menu choices and the wings were excellent ad was the eggplant spread. We will definitely return.
Had an excellent meal with attentive, prompt service.. we will definitely be back!
This was the most terrible place we have ever gone. We were downtown and decided to grab a burger and from the outside, this place looked pretty decent. We figured how bad could it be? We wanted a basic burger and fries. We were seated and our waitress took our order. I ordered a soup and my bf ordered a salad to start and at the same time we placed the order for our burgers/fries. after about 15 minutes we inquired about our soup and salad. The waitress returned to clear the table next to us but did not give us an update. Within a few minutes we then received our soup and salad. The soup was tepid and the salad had no dressing and none was offered. A few minutes later our burgers arrived but since we requested the soup and salad to be served first and they practically came together, we returned the soup and salad. The burgers and fries were not hot but we were hungry and proceeded to eat. I asked for mayo and it took forever for it to arrive. In the meantime, our waitress had taken our glasses for refills at least 10 minutes prior and just returned with them. We complained about the food and service and asked for the manager. I young girl came over to us with a water pitcher (we declined the water) and she tells us she is the manager. We explain what happened and she is very apologetic and comps our entire meal. In the meantime, I have only taken two bites of my burger. It tasted funny and smelled weird. Never going there again! Although the food (and the service) was terrible, I still wanted to give the waitress a tip. I requested her but she never even returned to us and she never got the tip.
The restaurant was conveniently located in the theatre district. The service was good. I would recommend it for the grill -burgers especially. The cocktails were also good. Nice atmosphere to talk with friends.
Honestly, one of the best things about my dining experience is the fact I got uber credits from using Visa Local. The gumbo was good, burgers were average, they forgot the feta in a GREEK omelette and I had to ask another waiter to bring condiments as our waitress took over 10 minutes.
Wonderful experience at Back Deck and we will be back! Great gluten free menu and options. We left a bag behind and they called us and let us know they had it which was a step above the rest. Great food, good drink options, wonderful service!
