Back Deck offers professional backyard grilling in a laid-back city setting seven days a week. Back Deck brings the outdoors inside with details like exterior carriage lighting and glazed brick in the dining room and an open kitchen that invites guests to watch the flame-licked fun. Back serves polished takes on cookout classics as well as dishes cooked over an open flame at homes across the globe. Almost all of the menu is grilled on three hardwood charcoal grills hand-picked to accommodate many differing options.

    We were early for our reservation. The hostess was very gracious and said she would get us in early. Mind you this was brunch before a matinee. French toast unbelievable!

    I know that the review looks like it was wonderful but we were there before a play and told the waitress what time we had to be out. The brunch came out after 30 minutes(still within our window) except for the meal for our 92 year old friend was wrong. After they took her meal ( a veggie omelet), they said they would be right back. No one came back, finally at 12:30 I found the manager, who told us she and the waitress did not know what the expediter did. And assured us we did not have to pay for HER meal. Her omelet came at 12:30. That was the time we needed to leave. They took it off the bill but our friend had to eat really fast . It was stressful for everyone, especially for the 92 year old woman. Good food but I will not make reservations again at this restaurant.

    Great location if you are going to a show at the opera house. Dining room is beautifully decorated. We arrived for our confirmed Sunday 11:15 reservation to an almost empty restaurant. After a slight delay getting seated we ordered mimosas and our breakfast. Waitress was friendly. The restaurant slowly started getting busier and our breakfasts arrived. Lovely presentation but the food was just lukewarm. As we cut into the eggs benedict we noted that the butter knives provided had a really hard time cutting through the extra crispy english muffin. Both of us were having the same issue. The food was ok. We ordered a second mimosa and the waitress told us we would have a bit of a wait and as long as we weren’t in a rush she’d be happy to get them. Ooook. Ten or fifteen minutes later she brought the mimosas. Not sure why a 3/4 full restaurant would have an issue with such a simple request during brunch. The price was high for the quality of food and overall service. They have location working in their favor but that’s about it.

    First time at Back Deck and certainly won’t be the last! Even though it was mobbed, the wait staff was attentive to us (and everyone else far as I could see!) The food was delicious. We ordered two dishes: a meat item and a vegetarian item. Both were superb!

    The food was great and the bartender was fantastic. He was very busy but never missed a beat, he also gave great food recommendations.

    Great service and food was solid. Got to grab a table outside before heading to a concert down the street. Will definitely be back again.

    Excellent service and delicious food. Homemade hummus was incredible! Great vibe and the Cape Cod Fizz cocktail was fabulous.
