About Baci Abbracci
Italian for 'kisses and hugs', baci&abbracci's Neapolitan-style pizzas and "fresh", "homey" dishes merit the trip on the L. The white-washed walls of this modern Williamsburg trattoria boasts a small bar, while the sun-kissed garden is an "enticing escape." Neighborhood folk love the bread, mozzarella and pasta which are made fresh daily. Your first order of business: Ordering a Peroni or glass of Italian wine. Then dig into belly-warming dishes like calamari, red beet and goat cheese gnocchi, and wood-fired pizzas (Time Out New York's Best New Pizza Joint 2007) . Finish off with the torta della nonna, with custardy sabayon, chocolate cream piping, and crushed, toasted pistachios. As delicious as the food, is the "exceedingly friendly" staff.

Baci Abbracci Ratings and Reviews
The ambiance and the service were good but the food just wasn't consistently authentic or up to par. The pizza bordered on bland, the tomato sauce in the eggplant Parmesan appetizer was also bland, though the eggplant was well cooked. I tasted two people's pasta dishes and they were a mix of ingredients that did not mesh well, both of them. The prices, however, are extremely reasonable.
The restaurant has a nice warm vibe and the staff was very welcoming. I really enjoyed the carbonara, but my dining partner did not enjoy her pizza. We also had calamari and drinks which were just okay. Everything is reasonably prices though and it's really close to the movie theater for an affordable pre-/post-movie meal.
Honestly, avoid this place.
First of all, the ambience is very lousy. They have stuffed FAR too many tables into this extremely small space to the point where we were seated right next to the front door. Every time someone came or went, a cold gust of wind would sweep into the restaurant and chill us to the bone.
The drinks were awful. I ordered the Malbec from the menu which was just fine, and my girlfriend ordered the mojoto. I wish I took a picture of it, but it was an absolute disaster. Way overpowered with lime, as there were two entire lime halves floating in the small glass. Drink was a mess, and she took one sip and couldn’t have anymore.
The bread starter was equally as puzzling. The bread seemed to be thrown in the basket with no care or purpose whatsoever, and was served in a ramekin of plain olive oil. This was the blandest, cheapest olive oil I have ever tasted - it was like dipping your bread into water. If you’re going to serve bread with only olive oil as a condiment, it had better at least be some decent oil.
The main courses were also poor. I ordered the beet and goat cheese gnocchi, which literally tasted like cigarette smoke. My girlfriend ordered the margarita pizza which was a liquidy mess. Absolutely impossible to pick up, she had to scoop the soggy crust off her plate with a knife and fork.
The service was fine, but was definitely not enough to make up for the major disappointment of everything else.
Surprisingly delicious. Ambience okay. There was a problem that I'll describe below but because everything else was so good I didn't take off any stars: Even though OT offered earlier reservations and I took one (6pm, I think), I quickly got a call from the restaurant saying there wouldn't be availability till 7 b/c of a large party. I kept the rez & adjusted. Took a chance & showed up 6:40 but party still in progress. Came back at 7 and to my surprise the party had indeed just cleared out. My complaint is that the host should have thanked us for our understanding and patience and for our patronage under the circumstances. But the other virtues made up for this "sin." Will go back.
The service was really good and very friendly. The bartender was excellent. The food was just OK. Spaghetti was a bit overcooked; the risotto seemed as though it had not been seasoned at all and the salmon was overcooked. When they bring you olive oil for your bread...they bring you a brand other than your own that they sell on the premises. (We all though this was weird.) We requested a sample of theirs, which they happily brought us. It was very good. The meatballs were also very good. So -- a mixed bag.
Very good Italian food with several menu choices including pizza pasta and seafood. We had the octopus appetizer which was amazing and the black squid ink pasta with seafood also excellent. Next time we will try the pizzas which also seemed popular there with diners. The waiter was one of the best I have ever had. So attentive and eager to please. I cant remember his name but remember he was from Ecuador. Will return again!
Quiet, relaxing, never rushed. Cute garden out back- nothing fancy, but perfect for nice weather. Reasonably priced. We had the lamb ragu, Lamb shank, gnocchi, squid ink pasta, cheese plate, focaccia, and carbonara. Everything was delicious, even the wine which I thought was reasonably priced for a bottle too. Focaccia was more of like flat bread but it ended up being perfect with the cheese plate. Everyone in my party loved the meal and said they would come back again.
Nice place. Noise level is only moderate because there are a lot of tables in a small space. The food here is pretty darn good. Spinach ravioli is damn good. The cocktails are also very special here.
Good for a date or to bring friends from out of town to dinner.
The restaurant atmosphere was fine - as described. The food was not so wonderful. Sauces too scarce on the pasta, takeout order (pasta) was poorly prepared and very dry. The food all had a rather odd taste. Kind of disappointed in this one - particularly given the "reviews"
8 at our table were happy with pizzas, pastas, soup and salad and wine. We have eaten here many times and food is usually out-of-this-world. This time it was fine (and nothing wrong with that. )
Will definitely return and hope for a superlative dinner experience.
Baci and Abbraci is my neighborhood staple and go-to for any occasion. The food is consistently outstanding and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the Gnocci Sorrentina and Insalata Estiva. The clientele is always on point and accommodating. Love this place!
Authentic Italian food at reasonable prices. We went for New Years Eve with a price fixed menu of 65 dollars for 3 courses. Great selections and really great food. From start to finish we enjoyed our meal and were impressed overall. We will go back again and try their regular menu in the future. Service was also impeccable.
Last minute New Years Eve reservations. Absolutely amazed at how good the food was here at Baci Abbracci. From the appetizers to dessert it was all delicious. Service was great from when we entered up until we left. Will definitely be recommending this restaurant to many friends and family members! Thank you Baci Abbbracci for a great NYE dinner.
Restaurant super sympa !
The food was OUTSTANDING - service needs some work (including: our appetizer plates were not cleared before our entrees were brought to the table; the man who delivered our entrees - not our waiter - reached across others to put down a plate...)
When we first walked in, the NOISE was unbearable. We were ready to leave, but were then told there is a patio in the back - with heat. If you want to hold a conversation with your friends, request outside, as there is really no way to enjoy your meal without speaking to others on your phone with a headset.
Did I say the food was OUTSTANDING?!!?
