Dining here was amazing! The meal, wine and dessert was perfect. Highly recommend and will be back again.
Charming neighborhood Italian place. Attentive service, excellent selection of salads and pastas that you won't find elsewhere. Delicious homemade pastas.
Owner Shari Dominici wore different hats tonight in the restaurant and was able to accommodate each and every table. Despite the busyness, she managed to visit each table to ask how the meal was.
Food was very well prepared and enjoyable to eat. I had brought a bottle of fine wine to share with a friend. I thought the corkage fee was excessive. Thirty dollars to pull the cork and supply a couple of glasses is a bit much. Overall, I would say that the wine list was ok. As with most restaurants in this day and age the markup on the wines was greater than the value of the wine. Corkage of fifteen dollars would be reasonable. A mark up on the wine of forty percent would make ordering wine from the wine list more enjoyable.
Great service and fantastic food and very fresh! Sherri works her butt off along with the Staff!
We selected Bacco for my husband's birthday dinner as it is a casual and comfortable location as well as not too far from home. Food is good and is well represented on their website. I had ordered a salad as a first course and really could have done without it as my main course (veal) was quite filling.
The restaurant itself is small and therefore it can get a bit noisy for conversation and we did find ourselves leaning across the table to speak with each other.
It was pouring rain, we had come from an MRI and were eager to be fed and comfortable. we came here years ago when we lived in the neighborhood and new the owners through all these years and many life changes. we live in the north bay now and don't get to come often but it was a very comfortable place, the service was excellent and we had a delicious dinner. Mz. Maitre D, Shari Domenico, is a beautiful and gracious host, and it felt like we hadn't been away. It's a wonderful place.
Nice Valentines Day spot
Great food, great service. A neighborhood gem. I highly recommended Bacco for your next friends dinner or romantic night out!
A very warm welcome -- and impeccably prepared salmon and duck in a classic California Cuisine style. Chicken liver fettuccine was a stretch for me but delicious. All ingredients were well sourced and the wine list thoughtfully put together. A great meal in a charming room.
Try the Sacchetto, recipe by Bacco. It's vegetarian with plenty of cheese. Delicious and filling.
Unfortunately, someone had sprayed Febreeze in a bathroom and left the door open. The scent cause me to cough and wheeze a bit. And it smells plasticky and artificial. It ruined the ambiance of the place, which had lovely painted Italian wall plates, high ceilings, dim lighting, and pleasant music. Then there was a crying baby. Please, parents, get a baby sitter.
Otherwise, our server, the manager, was full of energy and warm. She made an excellent wine suggestion and made us feel welcome.
Don't expect a fine dining experience. It's all about the food, which is worth repeat visits. We poured our bottle of wine, a pino nero, which is fine for us. Everything we tasted was delicious. Perfect Italian comfort food.
great value... great contemporary Italian cuisine... service was very good as usual
Cozy little restaurant. Food was great. They were short staff that night...kudos to the lady serving everyone with minimal help. And she did it in heels! A little expensive but definitely will return.
an exceptionally good Italian restaurant in the heart of Noe Valley!! A MUST for anyone with good taste!!
When you think of "Neighborhood Italian" you're thinking of Bacco. Lovely place, homey feel, quiet which I just can't stress enough to ALL restaurants to consider if/when the pump in music. To have to yell and strain at someone less than two feet away from you at your table makes no sense. Bacco doesn't have that issue :)
The wine was excellent, our waitress made us feel like we had been coming there for years (it was our first time), and the food was excellent. Especially the pasta.
a neighborhood favorite with good solid Italian food. Sauces are spectacular
Had always been great, one of my favorite neighbourhood restaurants, but this experience was way out of the norm. The service was very slow and cold. I ordered the risotto which I knew world take extra time. One hour was not extra time, and my dinner partners food was delivered and eaten during this period. I was offered an"appetizer while I waited" , and told several times it would be"one more minute'. The table next to us, who got there 20 minutes later than we did, got the risotto I had ordered. When my fellow diner finished her meal, I told the waitperson I was no longer interested in the dinner. Eating in two shifts is not my idea of having dinner out together!
The owner apologized profusely, and comped or entire meal( we left a gratuity, anyway, for his caring! What we would ask, is that management not overbook for the staff they have, and stay on top of current customers.
I will go here again, as it has always been great for me. Will just consider this an aberration.
The experienced, entertaining waiter helps makes for a great night. Very pleasant surroundings. Warm and nicely lit on a winter night.
We had a birthday dinner here. It was amazing. Service is excellent and the special champagne flights that evening were fantastic
We've been going to Bacco off and on for some years. It's our go to for date night, wine bar with excellent Italian appetizers, or group dinner with friends/family. The food is terrific: primarily southern/central Italian authentic with a bit of modernity. Classy. Excellent Italian wine list. Service is delightful and warm. A great place for a variety of events and get-togethers.
Bacco serves good Italian food in a quiet environment. I liked being there. My spaghetti and meatballs was good but not great. Still... I would go back cause the price was very reasonable.
Bacco is an excellent neighborhood Italian restaurant. Good food and wine, great people!
We dine there at least once a month, even though we don't live in Noe Valley, and a favorite entree is the fergola. Try it !
Wonderful as usual. The food is authentically Italian.
I went here for a small birthday dinner. Lovely homemade noodles, friendly engaging service, cozy ambiance. Looking forward to going here again.
The staff was very warm and accommodating and the pasta dishes were delicious. We had the pasta with meatballs, a great classic, and the pasta special which was a simple fettuccini with porcini mushrooms and tomatoes. They also have the best olive oil ever served alongside their bread.
Overall good food though atmosphere very noisy
Good service An enjoyable evening!
We were looking for a quiet place to dine and Bacco used to be our go to place. It fallen off our radar. So glad we booked a table there for our friend's birthday. It was a sweet experience. The owner looked after us. We loved the the pastas. I had the Fregola with seafood. So good. Highly recommend it. We also enjoyed a wonderful wine from Umbria. We look forward to spreading the word and going back!
We enjoyed table 10. We will look forward to returning to Bacco.
Service is outstanding. I was incorrect about my arrival time and showed up 30 minutes later (I thought it was a 7 PM reservation). It was my error and the staff did not make me feel bad about it once we resolved it. The owner removed my name as a "no show" and gladly fixed it with ease. she was kind about it.
the service was fun and efficient. lots of great wine options to pair with food. homemade pastas were incredible and fresh. really liked the variety of specials and simple menu (not too much to choose but just enough to taste their best).
A real neighborhood find, but definitely worth the trip if it's not your 'hood! Welcoming service and mind blowing pasta. :-)))
Note to Bacco: When a diner requests "herbal tea," they do not have green tea in mind.
Superb food and service for a classic neighborhood restaurant. So much better than driving to downtown San Francisco and paying absurdly high prices for food and service that Bacco matches any time.
Great neighborhood restaurant with wonderful food and excellent service. A true gem in the city and locals know about and love. It isn't on a main drag, but not too far from one. We've been there a few times and appreciate the upbeat staff and authentic menu. This is the real deal. Will definitely be going back many times this year.
We had a group of 7 celebrating a birthday here. Though we didn't tell the wait staff so I am not sure if it is good for birthdays or not. They waiter gave great recommendations on wine that was both great and affordable to the table. He also gave food recommendations which were also very good. At the peak of our time there, I would say the restaurant was 85% full and we could easily hear ourselves without raising our voices.
Try the bruschetta and the caramel gelato with espresso for dessert.
Certainly one of the nicest neighborhood Italian restaurants in the City
We had a great time Bacco last night. My son has celiac disease and they were very accommodating with gluten free options. Thank you!
The food is very fresh and has an abundance flavor. The service from the staff is very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
The food is not very good
Cozy little spot in Noe Valley. The room was charming with a comfortable crowd enjoying dinner (mix of families, friends, and dates). Our waiter was very helpful and my wife and I enjoyed the salads and gluten-free pasta with a nice organic wine. Who says being healthy has to be a bummer? :-)
