Really quality italian food and restaurant experience!
Delicious pasta - lasagna, risotto, spaghetti and meatballs - and roast chicken. Appetizers were good, but nothing special. Go for the lemon tart for dessert. Understaffing meant service wasn't the best, but still OK.
Great food, friendly neighborhood restaurant. Lemon chicken was excellent.
Great neighborhood restaurant with consistent quality. Had the pork chop. Seasoned and cooked perfectly. Just delicious.
Great homemade pastas and strong Italian wine selection. Barolo, Barbaresco, and Super Tuscans
The service was very good. The food was tasty, except for the salad with beets, which had no flavor at all.
We love our neighborhood restaurant. Great service. Authentic Italian food cooked to perfection.
My father and stepmom were visiting me and we often go to Bacco. We like the homemade pasta which is fresh, perfectly cooked and either accompanies or encases delicious ingredients such as sautéed vegetables, meats and/or cheese and sauce. The appetizers are delicious especially the mini meatballs and the eggplant mouse with burratta cheese.
It works with a small but friendly staff. You simply have to be prepared to wait a bit at busy times.
Shari always takes great care of us, we remain huge fans of Bacco!
We had a delicious dinner on Saturday Night. My husband and I both had the pork chop with a red wine sauce that was outstanding. One friend had Lasagne that he loved and two other friends has pasta which they said was delicious.
Shari (owner and host) is always very gracious and friendly and make you feel welcome. The service was very good despite the fact that several servers were out sick. Our waiter was great.
Delicious as always. The wine recommendations were great, and everybody had a wonderful time.
Easy to reserve via OpenTable. Hostess was a bit brusque but she knew exactly what we needed and got to our needs super fast. Great wine choices. Food was amazing: grilled squid, octopus and brussel sprouts. Ravioli was to die for - that cheese was amazing and was the most flavorful dish of the night. Gnocchi was soft, a tad overcooked but delicious. The squid ink pasta was delicious! Did not order dessert, Mitchell's is nearby. We would definitely return.
We met our sons new girlfriend so i was looking for a good restaurant for a good time. The ambiance is very nice. Parking was a little difficult but we finally found a place. Service was okay but the food made up for that. We all had an enjoyable time. The special that night was loved by all who had it. The appetizers were also very good. Nice neighborhood restaurant.
Birthday dinner for mom. Delicious food, prompt service, and overall great experience!
We had a great experience. The owner is wonderful and made everyone feel welcome. The food was very good. Notable were the two fish dishes and the risotto of the day. The fettuccine was fresh and the Apple Galant huge!
Cute neighborhood restaurant. I didn't love my Sardinia seafood pasta but my son's gnocchi was excellent. And the salads were terrific. The panne cotta was heavy, not to my liking. It's definitely worth a second visit though.
Food was excellent. Service was rushed, intermittent and perfunctory.
Enjoyed Father's Day there. Great restaurant. Small so not noisy. There was 3 of us. Our waiter was wonderful with good recommendations for food and drink. My wife and I had the Sea Bass, cooked to perfection.
I’ve been here many times and am never ever disappointed. Possibly my favorite sf restaurant.
A neighborhood gem, great for a date or just a relaxing night. The food is traditional, but they regularly rotate specials, so there is always something new. They always seem to have interesting new Italian wines by the bottle or glass to try. It's a wonderful neighborhood place catering to couples, dates, families and friends. The service is always friendly and efficient and warm. Highly recommend.
The service was good. The main courses and salads are always nice. The Crostino eggplant appetizer was rather disappointing. It should have arrived with more toasted bread. The noise level was very unpleasant. The volume of people talking was so loud, that it was hard to relax and enjoy the meal. I'd rather eat there on a night when business is slow.
Best neighborhood gem in San Francisco. Food is consistently great (very accommodating with food allergies/preferences); Owner Shari is almost always there to greet you (she’s fabulous!); wonderful professional staff; great selection on main menu, plus daily specials.
I love this place and been coming here for yearsssss for all kinds of celebrations down to fixing my craving food yummy pasta! It never disappoints us! My fav all time
Lovely ambience, like a home. Staff is very friendly and professional. The food is consistently delicious. We had the rigatoni which was excellent and risotto that was excellent although the sausage was a bit scarce and I am not a big meat eater. The creme bulee with fruit was good. We ordered a very good Chianti’s that was well priced. I recommend highly.
Terrible service. If you’re not in the know, or a frequent patron, you are treated poorly and not even considered as a customer. Stay away, this place will ruin a special occasion.
We originally booked a table for 3 for dinner on Mothers Day and suddenly our party grew to 7. We called Saturday morning and left a message to see if our larger party could be accommodated. We were surprised whem our called was returned within the hour and the owner was happy to work it out and even got us in our favorite spot. Dinner was great, great menu selections, food was great and the service is outstanding. Someone ordered the whole grilled fish and the owner came and removed the bones from the fish at the table. She was very adept at this procedure and the fish was outstanding! This is definitely a place to keep in your restaurant rotation!
Bacon is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. The food is always delicious and the service friendly and welcoming.
The food is excellent, the service was wonderful, and the host owner couldn’t be more welcoming and accommodating. This is a perfect place and a treasure for neighborhood dining.
Was disappointed with the food. Ravioli was undercooked. Most people I was with had similar opinions on their dishes. Also their bread is served cold.
Great pasta dishes at reasonable prices. Attentive service. Wine was well paired with the food. Quiet atmosphere.
I would recommend for the food but only if my friend wanted poor service and to be treated like an afterthought.
Best Italian I’ve ever had!
This restaurant is attractive, and has a pleasant ambiance. Nonetheless, the meal was very disappointing, mostly for the hospitality and service. We had a reservation. but it felt like we were not welcomed. We had requested a quiet table, as one of our party was hearing impaired. When we were seated, another table in the corner was becoming available, but when we asked no one even responded to us.
The worst part about the meal was the waiter, who was abrupt, rude, and provided poor service. When ordering, there was no graciousness. He said he would choose the wine for us, but we preferred a recommendation, and some understanding of the cost. He seemed to take that as an insult. He forgot to bring the beer for a member of our party, but never apologized when we finally brought this to his attention at the end of the meal.
It took a very long time to get our food. The fennel in the salad was not fresh. The rest of the food was fine, but the meal was tainted by the hostess and waiter who seemed to be in a rush about everything, even whether we wanted parmesan on our dishes.
After the dinner, my plate was grabbed without asking me if I wanted a box for the obvious leftovers. The server started stacking used plates and utensils on my plate, and I had to ask him to stop.
At the end of the meal, we were offered dessert. We asked for menus. The waiter finally came back to take our order about 20 minutes later, just when we finally decided not to bother. He never apologized or was gracious about it..just grabbed our menus and walked away.
My Mother's almost perfect Northern Italian Rest in SF, The perfect one in Firenze.
Too noisy! Food was good, service was polite but inaccurate. Conversation virtually impossible, not sure how to remedy that problem. Ravioli was delish and just the right amount.
$30 uncorking fee is outrageous
Olives were mushy and very cold.
Bread and dip were tasty.
Food under-salted. May have forgotten to salt food at all.
Noise level unbearable. Couldn't hear at all, and we're used to noisy restaurants.
Waiter was gracious about boning the branzino. Much appreciated.
Was a great birthday dinner experience!
My son and I had a very tasty dinner and my family will return. It is located in the charming upper Noe neighborhood and is close to our home in Glen Park. I had been at Bacco many years ago and had forgotten how good the food is and the warm and inviting the atmosphere. I enjoyed the squash soup and branzino and and my son had the lamb and all were well prepared. We also had a very good bottle of Chianti at a well valued price.
