Delicious Italian food and attentive, friendly service.
We are regular customers - three or four times a year. We go there because the food and wine are good, the owner host is very friendly and appreciates our business. The noise level is not excessive, which is important to me. The background music is . good and not intrusive, either. We can walk there from our house. YAY!
We have eaten here before and liked it, but were really disappointed this time. Granted they were busy, but the service was slow and frenetic, and we were not happy with the food. The selections were limited, and they were not willing to make any accommodations. The non-meat dishes were really rich and creamy (not my taste) and the tomato-based dish we had was just tomato-y (no other real flavor). The one bright spot was the eggplant mousse, which was very good and unusual. But, it would be great if they used better bread. The bread is plain white bread - not even heated. In a city like SF, where there are so many amazing bakeries, there is no reason to serve cold, plain white bread.
Food was very good. We had rigatoni with sausage and risotto. Both very good. Chocolate flourless cake was great. Service was a bit fast and a bit gruff.
They were a little frazzled on Sat night 7 30-next time would go back mid week only next time.The special pasta with truffles was very very bland but the pasta with seafood was great. still a good local place and priced reasonably
We have been here several times over the years and have had good experiences before but tonight our experience was not great. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated, it was very busy which was fine. Our waiter seemed very busy but still managed several smoke breaks outside. He also told us they were out of the brasato which I wanted, and the lasagne which my spouse wanted. However, a table of 6 came in about 30 minutes after we were seated and when their food came, after we had finished, they were served brasato. So. Really, really disappointing. Also, 3 of our 4 main course dishes were not hot when they were served. And the prime rib our waiter told us was great was not warm and the Demi glaze it was served with was hardened into the plate so we didn’t get to try it.
Not sure we will be back.
Spectacular as always. Thankfully this place is nearby in the city but I would drive across town to eat here. That good.
I was there to celebrate my birthday... I requested a candle in whatever dessert I ordered when I made my reservation, which did not happen sadly. Additionally, our server disappeared during the meal, forgetting the wine we had ordered. He finally returned with it when we were done eating our dinner. Overall, not a great birthday meal.
Always great to have dinner there. This is one of our "go to" restaurants for special events.
Food was really fantastic. I think it may have been an off night, service-wise; the restaurant was packed and there only seemed to be two servers. The result was uneven, inattentive service. We had to ask for a wine list two times before it came to the table for the first time and the gap between appetizers and entrees made us wonder if the kitchen had ever gotten our orders.
The food was definitely the star — so good, in fact, that we’d be willing to give Bacco another try in hopes of them having a fully staffed dining room.
Adrian gave us great service and even brought me a beautiful and tasty tiramisu desert for my birthday. Guest chef from Sicily was fabulous. Thank you for a wonderful evening

First time at Bacco. Everything we ordered was great, including three different pastas. Great service and wonderful people. We'll be back for sure.
I had not been to this restaurant for several years. I found the food to be better than I remembered. The menu is unpretentious. The service was good. Mainly, everything we had was just such a pleasure to eat, without trying too hard to call attention itself.

Not the best service. Left waiting at entrance and the waiter was not attentive. However, the food was lovely and it’s a great neighborhood spot. Very comfortable environment.

Bacco went beyond our expectations. Sherry was our server and she was everything people had written about her and more—attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. A complete joy. The food was delicious. We all had the panzanella to start and then had the rigatoni, the risotto special, the ravioli and grilled branzini. Each was fantastic. We will happily travel from the Peninsula to Noe Valley for this special italian neighborhood gem.
Food was bland and service not that great. seems like they wanted to rush us out ASAP.
We enjoyed our dinner at Bacco very much! We were greeted warmly by Sherry -- she was very attentive throughout the evening. The food is delicious!! We especially enjoyed the orange salad and the Fregola pasta with seafood. We have already recommended Bacco to our friends in the neighborhood!!

My partner has been there may be 10 years and remembered it being good.
The service was uneven-friendly waitstaff but huge gaps between courses. For the price, the portions were small (appetizer and pasta courses). The fish was overcooked-mealy and dry and for $30, should be properly cooked.
The place and menu could use a refresh. The concepts are good but need better execution.

We were in the city to celebrate our 52nd anniversary and wanted to find a small neighborhood restaurant with great Italian food. Decided on Bacco and were not disappointed. We had the rigatoni and the lasagna, which were both delicious. Would definitely recommend Bacco to others.
Food was so wonderful, like the chicken, creme brule.
Bacco's is a wonderful restaurant. From the moment you walk through the front portico, you are greeted with a wealth of warmth that makes you feel like a family member.
The food is always great. Just thinking of going there gives my taste buds a run for their money. I've never been disappointed.
