We brought some out-of-town visitors to Bacco and they declared it their best dinner in the city so far! The service was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about the food & wine. We also very much appreciated the kindness of the complimentary taste of Port to end our feast.
Excellent food. Finely prepared. Adequate service but (on a Friday night) rushed because restaurant was full and busy. Good location. Relatively easy parking. High noise level when full
Waiter didn't know menu and after returning from kitchen he still didn't have an explanation for sauce. Way Too noisy to hear anyone. Got one small pat of butter for four of us. Had to ask for more butter and bread. Couldn't find waiter for check. Seated near door and was very very cold. Both table and chairs rocked. Bathroom musty with dead plant. Not enough room on table. It was my friends birthday, I was embarrassed to have taken her there.
Lovely , tasty , nice ambience, quiet so you can have a conversation
Great food, lots of variety for every kind of eater. Lots of delicious veggies and pastas. Service was friendly and efficient and everyone seeemd to be Italian! Fun neighborhood spot.
This is a wonderful local restaurant. The food is excellent; interesting Italian cuisine, not just the standard rigatoni/ spaghetti dishes. Eggplant mousse with burrata was superb! Very nice ambiance and friendly, helpful staff willing to talk about the composition of the dishes.
Great Noe Valley neighborhood restaurant. Very good food and an energetic, knowledgeable and friendly wait staff. My only complaint is that the music was too loud and made hearing difficult.
Food was good. They were understaffed, and having computer troubles. I’d give them another try.
A great place to share, so you can enjoy all the course of a traditional Italian meal.
Felt so welcome! Like family. Great establishment, been around for 26 years, good food, nice atmosphere, looking forward to returning!
Bacco's is warm and friendly…..The owners and staff make you feel completely at home (sort of like going home for dinner). The ambience is perfect for experiencing the delicious/fabulous food that they serve with special attention to presentation….It's a restaurant that makes you feel completely at home….I would go back often…..
Took my kids (11 and 7) here for a Saturday dinner out, they were perfectly quiet and well-behaved, nicely dressed. Waiter looked at us like we were aliens. Forgot our olive appetizer. Cheap pour on the glass of wine. The calamari in the squid ink pasta was overcooked and not spicy at all, as advertised. Kids liked the meatballs, which was a plus. But $14 for plain pasta with butter. Sheesh. I get that you think you're too cool for kids, but you're not. You're a mediocre neighborhood pasta place. Get over yourselves. Next time we go to Lupo.
Food was not served as hot and there was a bit of a wait for the check after our table was cleared.
The prix-fixe menu for Valentine's Day was great. Reasonably priced at $65. We had a nice quiet table in a corner by a window. Helpful, friendly staff.
Wonderful service. Mario was amazing! The food was all excellent and the wine exquisite.
I eat vegan because of health concerns. At the end of a long week, I wanted my boyfriend to have a meal I knew he would enjoy -- Italian. But as vegans know, Italian food is traditionally not vegan. In spite of this, Bacco made a pasta off the menu with roasted garlic and vegetables, and it was delicious. I also had the orange salad.
We were seated right by the door, so as new groups came in and were waiting to be seated, they mingled right next to and behind me. It was quite distracting especially with the group of 8 that was hanging there for 10 minutes. We made the reservation a week in advance so I thought we would get a nice spot. There was a 4-person table left free that was more sheltered from the storm of ppl at the front door, but that must be reserved for a larger group, I thought- or else they would have sat us there. I was annoyed that the the next couple through the door was sat at the 4 person table.
The wine that the server recommended was mediocre. It was the priciest in the Super Tuscan category, the category I had said I was interested in.
However, the food was the saving grace - it was great. Lasagna with béchamel sauce, octopus salad, meatballs- all excellent. Only complaint was that the meatballs could have been larger.
All the staff were very friendly. Had agood dinner. Happy with my veggie pasta entree. Nice neighborhood spot.
Great for sharing. The only way I know to be able to handle all the excellent available courses (it IS Italian, after all).
Hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle.
Great food. Comfortable and warm dining area. Great place for meeting friends.
Bacco is our family's favorite restaurant in San Francisco. It has NEVER disappointed us. The food is consistently outstanding and interesting also. It seems that everyone whom we bring there becomes a devoted customer as well. The owner is gracious, hard-working, and very welcoming. Cannot wait to go back again.
An excellent Italian restaurant in Noe Valley. It's easy to enjoy a relaxing meal here. The ambience is pleasant, the food is good, the staff is friendly, and parking is no problem.
Have enjoyed Bacco for many years. Although I no longer live in the neighborhood, it is worth the effort. Parking is tricky but there are two parking lots located on 24th street.
Great food, friendly service. Perfect spot for our New Year's Eve dinner!
Food was very average
We love Bacco and come here every December when we are in town. Service is great and meal always a delight!
The food is always great here and the staff is always friendly.
The grilled whole branzino was terrific. All the food was impressive except for the dessert - lemon meringue tart fell flat and the pastry was very tough. But overall it was (as always at Bacco) a very nice dining experience.
We had a wonderful executive group dinner at Bacco Ristorante. The staff was great and attentive, the owner was with us the entire time and was very welcoming as well. I love that she's been the owner for 20+ years and really likes the neighborhood. It was a welcoming change to the busy and very business-oriented restaurants we have around us on the peninsula. I want to bring my family here now!
Bacco has been and continues to be my favorite Italian restaurant in San Francisco for years.
The service was impeccable.
The wine was devine.
One entry was excellent, the other so so.
Dessert was excellent.
Noise level too high for comfortable conversaiton.
A nice, quaint restaurant for a date night. Definitely recommend starting with the charcuterie and brussel sprouts - the rigatoni as a main dish was amaze.
Terrific evening! Ten of us met to celebrate a birthday and Bacco was the perfect spot. Great food, impeccable service and an overall great environment to catch up with each other.
We had not been to Bacco in a few years and it has only gotten better! Outstanding food and service. It was exceptional and a greta place to die with friends.
This place is always a treat and it just keeps getting better. The food is delicious and they really do an excellent job with seafood. the grilled branzino was perfect! There are a variety of pastas offered and all are quite good. The wine list offers some interesting Italian labels, not always well known.
Incredibly delicious, homemade Italian food and wonderful service, with gracious accommodations for specific dietary needs, in a quaint, lovely neighborhood spot. We loved it.
Average Italian fare for San Francisco standards, service is good and has a lively atmosphere.
As always, the food and service were excellent. A Noe Valley gem for many years.
