Food was outstanding as always. Service was fine; waiter kept pushing to up sell bottles of wine even after we told him three times what we wanted. When the bill came, I added my rewards information and he grabbed the check without asking if I wanted to use any of my $500 worth of points. I’ve had the most amazing service here in the past, so the bar is very high. Normally we don’t have to fill our own water and wine glasses throughout dinner. We will definitely be back; hopefully the service will match the talent in the kitchen, which Is the best in Milwaukee.
My first time dining at a fancy restaurant! I’m glad my first time was at Bacchus. Will definitely be back again!
Outstanding three-course meal with delicious venison main course and rich German chocolate for desert. We were pleased. Highly recommended!
Our servers Darius and Alan were amazing. Personable and professional. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Will definitely come back. The food, service and ambiance were all that we were hoping for and more.
Everything was great and we had the best waiter ever
Everything about our visit was fantastic ! Gabby, our server ,was probably the best I’ve ever had. She was on top of things, very conversational, attentive, resolved a conflict quick and kindly. I would come back again just to have her as a server.
Super experience, food was amazing and tasty
Try this place out
I made reservations for Valentine’s Day, when we arrived the hostess informed us that they were running 15 to 20 minutes late, so our 8:30 reservation was pushed to nearly 9:00. The server team was inattentive, they forgot to deliver our amuse bouche and never refilled our water or topped up our wine. Then, as we were were eating desert, the music suddenly became very loud and then was turned off. elt like a “hurry up, we’re closing” hint. It was not the fine dining experience we had anticipated. The food was very good but their standards for service should be much higher.
It was definitely not up to the usual high quality that we expect from Bartolotta. They were running behind and we had to stand out in the very cold lobby while waiting for our table. (I understand that it is due to space restrictions for Covid.) Service was slow and we felt rushed through dinner to meet the 90 minute timeline. Cocktails took a long time to get to the table and mine was wrong so we had to send it back. The Valentine menu choices were disappointing and they would not make any alterations. I really wanted the tenderloin, but it came with scallops to which my husband is allergic. They said they could leave them off but would still charge the $10 up charge even though I wasn't getting the scallops. I ended up getting the NY Strip, which was well prepared but not my favorite cut of meat and way more meat than I would ever eat. Disappointing to spend $95 a person on a meal that was just ok.
Was looking forward to our night out. The ambiance was weird having to keep masking up as the waiter returned. Hard to relax and enjoy our meal.
The food was average for a Bartollota restaurant. Steak was overdone on the outside. The inside was fine. The amuse duo was silly. I know they are down due to COVID and can increase the pricing for Valentines day but I don't think the menu was work $105 for my 3 course meal. I will go to Lake Park Bistro next time instead.
Made us wait in the cold lobby 25 minutes past our reserved time. Food was good but not outstanding. Small portions.
We had the 3-course option with a wine pairing, it was fantastic. We had a 90-minute time limit and didn't feel rushed. Start to finish it was a great meal, the amuse-bouche and the petit filet medallions were fantastic. Dessert took us for a decadent ride.
Outside of having excessive mask requirements, the staff and food was outstanding. Will not return until a mask policy is more reasonable.
The quality of the food and service was outstanding. There tends to be a perception that high-end restaurants are overpriced in their mediocrity--I have experienced this myself, particularly in New York. That is not the case at Bacchus. In fact (and perhaps this is due to COVID--but kudos to them especially if so!), the prices were relatively moderate compared to the quality of the food. I would have easily expected to pay more for the quality.
And though the ambiance and professionalism of the staff and setting were par excellence, there was not an air of superiority or snobbishness at all. And, somehow, the venue neatly combined a classical feel with modern chic. All-in-all, it was a great venue for our engagement dinner, and I would highly recommend.
It was a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. The food and service was awesome.
Phenomenal experience and outstanding service. Our waiter Veronica and another lovely lady delivered a great customer experience.
Food was fantastically delicious.
Our server was amazing!
The 3 course dinner was amazing!!!!
Food was good. We prefer more formal environments and Bacchus was more minimalist. That is not a criticism, but just a statement of fact.
The food was exquisite, My girlfriend and I both ordered 3 course meals and from the carpaccio, to the tuna tartare, to the garlic chicken and more not a bite went unfinished or un enjoyed. Most certainly will be back!
Everyone should go to Bacchus! Amazing food, esp with wine pairings, servers are so nice, and so clean and spaced out and beautiful!
Fabulous experience! As a diner with food allergies the staff made amazing adjustments ! I can’t say enough for how wonderful they waitstaff and chef made my experience! Thank you :)
Only fixed price menus. Not good if you wish to give up dessert as it is included.
Nice dinner, food was good. I felt the restaurant may have been understaffed. Our wait team seemed a little rushed at times. Attention to details was not there, for example the table was not cleared before the next course was brought out, waiter just handing you your plate across the table, we had to ask for utensils. Overall was a good dinner though.
Fantastic meal and the staff was very helpful and professional.
The food was amazing. Service was top notch. Best wine pairings. Thank you for social distancing. Everyone needs to go here.
For an extremely special date-night, Bacchus was a nice restaurant to visit.
My wife, infant daughter, and I had a pleasant evening there. (Our daughter thankfully was pretty happy throughout the evening, but we don't plan to bring her back. It's just not that kind of restaurant.)
The place is elegant, the service becoming of the establishment, and the food the highly unique experience one would expect when paying $65 per person before additional costs.
We called to ask where the entrance was -- it is on the north west side of the building, facing the street to the north.
The lyrics to the music felt rather depressing at times -- perhaps it is just a sign of the times? But there was one song that I really enjoyed, something along the lines of "Leave the lights on; it may be night when I get home."
One thing that could have been improved is that when serving a group where one member is gluten-free, it is good to take extra precautions. We neglected to ask that the entire table be gluten free -- if they had asked us, we could have shared our dishes more confidently. However, they use a three-signature process to guarantee that food is gluten free, which helped give us confidence that it would be.
We had an excellent experience at Bacchus! Great service, exceptional food with a unique menu. The owner even came out and thanked us for dining at his restaurant. We will be back! :)
Outstanding service, we enjoyed the lower noise levels from fewer tables due to Covid. Food was perfect as usual. We keep going back for a reason!
Everything we've come to expect from a Bartolotta restaurant: Great food, excellent wine list and fantastic service. The Covid safeguards they have put in place are remarkable. Glad they're back!
Their Covid protocols are over the top..having to pay to have the area cleaned is expected and shouldn't be charged additionally. And the time requirement of 90 minutes was ridiculous - For what we paid for dinner if we wanted to be there for 2 hours or 21/2 hours so be it. The food was good but not outstanding. And finally, having to put your mask up every time a server came toward our table was ridiculous and annoying!
We had a lovely 3 course dinner last night, everything was outstand, food excellent!
The evening was just perfect! Thank you so much! AND bonus, we got to see Zoe!
The servers were fantastic! The food was AMAZING! We really enjoyed ourselves. We will be back!
The Staff/servers were amazing and sweet. Very welcoming and helped us have a great experience while taking caring precautions to help our party feel safe during this Pandemic. Enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal, every dish was so tasty with amazing appetizers. Couldn't have asked for a better place to have our office Christmas dinner.
Dinner was Awesome!
We felt very safe visiting this restaurant and thought that Bacchus took appropriate Covid safety measures. Even with Covid safety measures it was a very pleasurable and intimate dining experience. I hope that even post Covid, Bacchus continues to use dividers between booth seating. The dividers helped make the setting more intimate.
Did a pre-Christmas dinner with family as we won’t be together with on Christmas. This place is amazing! From the moment we arrived until we left, every detail was handled with grace. Our server, Patrick, is a real pro. Joe, the maitre’d was great too. The food taste and presentation was over-the-top. A bit pricey, yes, but with every penny! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
This restaurant was outstanding. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. 10/10!
