The quality of service and food is unmatched. The recent remodeling of the restaurant is terrific. It provides a warm and sophisticated environment for a "date night" or a business meeting.
Had not been to Bacchus since the remodel. The decor is too bright and less intimate.
The "90's Rock" background music was atrocious. The food and service meets the Bartolotta standard.
Great atmosphere, great service, and fantastic food.
My wife and I went there for our anniversary and it was amazing. I suggest getting the tasting menu with the wine selection that accompanies it. It was a fabulous meal.
It's not often that I dine somewhere and love everything that I try. This was just such an experience. From the greeting, to the presentation, the impeccable service to the incredible food, every detail was trying an amazing experience at Bacchus. My only lament is that I waited so many years to try this incredible restaurant. I can't wait to go back.
It was lovely
Good food. Awesome wine list. Service was great. Over all price is high but worrh it. Only thing they need to change is to decrease the volume of the music. Maybe even the type of music. The tables for two need to be separated more. Felt like we were part of other couples conversations.
Outstanding way to spend my birthday! Thank you to our servers, Daniel and Kelsey, you made the evening. :-)
Excellent food, fantastic wait staff , Patrick is A1!!!!!
Food was excellent but charging 17.00 for a cosmopolitan is outrageous!
Dining at Bacchus is always a top notch experience.
Food was ok. Staff was very nice. Probably not worth the price
Bacchus remains my favorite restaurant in the Milwaukee region. The new makeover is stylish without pretension, and the restaurant retains the same essential characteristics that make it a favorite: superb cooking; a well-curated wine list with encyclopedic coverage of regions, varietals, and price points; and a top-notch, knowledgeable and incredibly professional staff. Out meal was outstanding; the Hamachi Crudo is light and yet comprises so many flavors; even my beet salad was a notch about normal beet salads, with spiced sunflower seeds and smoked goat cheese adding more variety and intensity of flavors. And, to top it off, my Manhattan was simply the best one I’ve ever had or made.
First time there since the renovation. Much brighter. Noise level much quieter. Fantastic service. The food was exceptional. Glad we decided to try it again. We'll definitely go back.
Really fabulous dinner! Cocktails at the lovely bar set the tone. Started with an exceptional Leek Soup, we shared the Lobster Ravioli...outstanding and so appreciated the suggestion by our server or we would have missed! Then I had the scallops...exceptional as well. The service was attentive and professional, the ambiance and decor understated, warm and rich feeling. This was a treat. Big fan of the Bartolotta restaurants but for some reason have always thought Bacchus pricey and made other choices. We all are putting Bacchus at the top of our lists! Worth every penny and great value for the experience!
Tried the tasting menu and enjoyed all the choices. We also upgraded the beef - for $20/piece, I didn't think this was a good upgrade - the beef was tasty but hard to chew. We also added the wine pairing. For, me it was too much alcohol but the wines that were chosen really enhanced the flavor of the food.
The best bartolotta doesn’t disappoint
Our second trip here and it was even better than the first. Patrick and Whitney took such good care of us - extremely friendly and accommodating. Whitney was very attentive. Patrick's wine pairings were spot on (even if you don't eat dessert, DEFINITELY drink it - the Vin Constance from South Africa was A-MAZ-ING). It was an exceptional way for my husband and I to celebrate 15 years together. Thank you!!
Always excellent.
Exceptional experience!! Great waitress!!
Always at the top of its game. It has been the place in Milwaukee for a big celebration. With the 15 year redo, a little more approachable, and also perfect for a last minute weekday dinner. We’re looking forward to the 30th.
Dinner and service was excellent.
Attentive staff, great tastes, dramatic refurbishing...worth the trip.
Service was 2nd to none as always based on my past experiences at Bartalotta restaurants. I tried a dry aged NY strip they had on special for Valentine's Day. In hindsight, I wish I would have ordered the Wagyu instead, but that's more of a reflection on my personal taste than a reflection of the food quality. Our 2 servers were incredibly friendly and professional. Overall a good meal and experience.
Walking in i felt like a celebrity. Walking out i felt like a king.
Excellent restaurant for that special occasion that requires just the right wine.
Amazing! I highly recommend it! The food and wine were outstanding.
Service and food were incredible! We were really impressed and cannot wait to return.
Valentine’s dinner was delicious. Had beet salad and scallops for entree. Husband had spinach salad, short rib, and chocolate cake. Gin martini and Manhattan before dinner were excellent. Didn’t like the 80’s/90’s music being played, but everything else was great. Music took away from the ambience.
Food was outstanding as was the service. First time dining here since renovation. Bar and dining room look spectacular however we were sat in Patio Room. It felt like we were in a different restaurant than the other guests that evening. The view during summer months might be more attractive but on this particular evening our view was of stacked patio chairs and outdoor heating lamps. Not the most romantic setting for Valentines Day
The food was fine, and the wine offerings were substantial and interesting, but the new decor/ambiance really killed it for me. It was much too bright, the music was much too loud, and the colorful yet unimaginative art on the dining room walls seemed cheap and inappropriate for the price of the meal we ordered. I miss the old Bacchus terribly.
Great food. Waiters were thoughtful and helpful. Good and great food at a price. I would go back
Great restaurant to have a nice dinner with your significant other or as a small group. Food was spectacular. They have a wonderful wine selection, and the service was outstanding. Would higlhy recommend this place and would dine here again!
Stated simply, I’m not a fan of p*g away 300.00 on a dinner. However, it was a special occasion and the exceptional service and knowledge of Patrick coupled with the flavorful dishes prepared by a talented chef and staff made for a truly memorable evening. Only complaint, the music selection was awful.
Absolutely amazing experience. The staff was all great and every dish exceeded expectations.
The food was delicious & the service was impeccable. Highly recomend.
Our server Patrick was out of this world. He had off menu selections including the simple brilliant tagliatelle with shaved truffles. He paired a wine with scallops that were made for each other. The bartender and som were equally great. The dessert was nothing to leave out. AMAZING mouse and cordials were the perfect way to finish the meal. Our dining experience was outstanding! The poached lobster, octopus and butternut squash risotto were tremendous. The main courses of scallops and tenderloin filet were delicious. No complaints what so ever on any dish. Wait staff were extremely knowledgeable regarding the different courses and wine list. We loved the remodeled restaurant and the lighting. We will absolutely return to enjoy another great experience!
This was our second visit to Bacchus in the past month and both experiences were fantastic.
The food is delicious and distinctive and the staff is exceptional. A few of our menu favorites: the butternut squash risotto, the salmon, the wagyu flat iron steak and the gooey butter cake.
Every single member of the Bacchus team was exceedingly friendly and welcoming. We felt like guests, not customers. The waitstaff was very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the menu, providing vivid and enticing details about each dish. The atmosphere is a nice balance of warmth, energy and sophistication without pretense.
This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion! It is on the pricey side, but well worth it in terms of an exceptional experience.
We enjoyed our first visit back after the remodel. It’s a fresh look that didn’t destroy the previous ambience which we liked. The menu has gone back to more creative after seeming more just like a steakhouse.
