Bàcaro Urban Pizzeria - Westmount

Wonderful staff, friendly, casual restaurant with good Italian basic menu. A lovely neighborhood place, with a small bar with "Cheers-Like" regulars. One cannot go wrong at Bacaro's in Westmount.

Very negative experience. Nobody checked our vaccination status and we came with an immunocompromised senior citizen. Does that mean they aren’t checking anyone’s status or did they just forget about us? We made a note in our booking that we were coming for a birthday and that we wanted to start with a toast to surprise the birthday girl. We specified the drink we wanted. The server announced not once but TWICE that the surprise drinks would be out shortly. Way to wreck a special moment… She proceeded to open the bottle and pour the bubbly into wine glasses preset on the table instead of running out glasses pre-filled. The bottle was already open from a previous table too. Not something you want to see at the table. Next we requested to know what the soup of the day was, the only rotating special. The server did not know what the soup was and when she ran it to the table did not bring a spoon. Food was disappointing compared to previous visits. I never write reviews, but future patrons deserve to know. Maybe a good place for a casual pizza with limited expectations, but definitely not a place to schedule a birthday/anniversary/special occasion. A very special moment for our family taken by lousy service from a server managing a half empty section.

One of the most delicious pizzas in town. The sauce that goes with is out of this world. A place to visit as often as possible for sure

Shop wasn’t even open, made reservations for a place that’s not even open

My penne alla vodka was delicious as was my caesar salad, kids loved their pizza and spaghetti and my husband enjoyed the ravioli. Our waiter was efficient and very sweet!

Excellent food and service was very good, although a little slow but that was due to there being only one waiter. However he was really excellent. Atmosphere was noisy due to a large family group being there at the time.

Good pizza, attentive service and a nice, freshly upgraded ambiance.

Pleased to see brunch being offered. Limited selection but good.

Fun happy hour drink menu! It wasn’t crowded, so not loud and we got a window seat.

A gentleman who I believe is one of the owner was very nice, he is helping the staff which I think is really beautiful to see.
It’s not everywhere that the owner will work with the staff and I think it gives a different dynamic and experience!

Nice clean place and food was tasty. The service was a bit slow, with a waiter that was a bit strange. But overall a good place for a relaxed bite. We went for lunch. Might be better for dinner.

It was my sister’s birthday and we went dinner there unexpectedly and I had chosen “birthday” in the “what’s the occasion section” not thinking much about it and after we ate they brought her some what I believe where beignets with nutella as a happy birthday present and I thought this was so so nice!
I was surprised myself 😂 I loved the attention to details.
Would totally recommend either for a celebration or for a quick bite!

The waitress was very attentive and helpful. The food was also great.

Attentive service , great food - salads , Calamari and other appetizers , wide variety of pizzas , pasta - something for everyone ! Like the wine at SAQ prices on certain days too . Don’t forget to try the Nutella fritters !

nous sommes arrivés et je pense que nous n'étions pas attendus même avec notre réservation. la serveuse a pris notre commande. un autre serveur est venu pour prendre notre commande aussi en s'adressant à nous seulement en anglais même si on lui répondait en français. nous avons reçu nos plats mais 2 pizzas n'étaient pas ce que nous avions commandé et en plus la croûte était brulée. elle s'est défendue en disant que l'erreur était dans la cuisine pas elle. ils ont refait les pizzas mais il manquait encore des garnitures et une était encore brûlée. Au final, le gérant nous a fait une facture allégée. nous avons apprécié mais...on n'y retournera pas . merci

Ça serait bien que les serveuses, même si elles parlent couramment anglais puisque la clientèle y est majoritairement anglophone, comprennent bien le français pour pouvoir bien saisir les commandes sans que l’on doivent répéter, voire passer a l’anglais, pour être sûr qu’elles nous comprennent! ;)
Sinon tout était parfait...et délicieux!

The service was disrupted by the waiter passing back and forth behind me. The pasta was so al Dante that I could not dealing it, I returned it and it came back the same. They charged me for an 8 oz glass of wine when I ordered a 5 oz. overall it was a terrible experience. Very disappointing.

We had made a reservation and yet, we were seated in an awkward table between the entrance, the kitchen and the rest of the seating area. It was also so loud, that we could hear each other speak. Definitely not the place to grab a bite with a friend to catch up..

Besides that, the food was pretty good and the service was alright.

If I were to go back, I would go a lot later (I went at 6pm) when the traffic isn’t so high and would request a table by the window.

Perhaps one of the worst dining experiences ever.
The soup was canned and not even properly mixed!!
The Cesar salad was dressing and lettuce.. that’s it!
That is not a Cesar.. My calamari was all batter.. I removed the batter to see what was underneath..it wad so tiny and over cooked you couldn’t even tell what it was .
The pizza was ok.. but very ordinary for a pizza place.
The service was young and inexperienced. Our waitress asked us during our meal if we’d likes coffee after., because they’d like to clean the machine.. so we needed to order now!?!?!
We eat our a lot in MTL.. we will never return.
This was a completely unacceptable compared to the restaurants of similar cost and menu.

We enjoyed our meal there but the noise made it hard to converse with each other. Also the lighting was dimmed so we had to use flash lights to read the menus and bills. The food was very good, big portions and reasonably priced, especially the wine which was half-price!

Greater was very pleasant and genuine. The seating was comfortable There was always a presence to serve us but seemed always there when we needed something. Over all we enjoyed our time at Bacaro

Not at all happy with an extra charge for grated parmesan cheese. Very cheesy move by the owner. I have been to numerous Italian restaurants over the years and have never experienced anything like this. I strongly recommend that this practice be ended. I have been a regular patron and now I will think twice about going back to Bacaro.

The food at Bacaro's was amazing. Homemade dishes that were mouth watering and the taste was incredible. Very economical and well worth it. Staff went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable evening. We were in Montreal for the weekend. Went to Bacaro's on Saturday night. Enjoyed the food so much that we cancelled our reservation for Sunday elsewhere and went back to Bacaro's. Loved it and would definitely go there again when we return to Montreal.

Great meatballs. Excellent Pizza. Loved the Negroni Sbagliato and the Aperol Spritz.

Went there for my daughter’s birthday. Great experience and very good value!

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our experience given it was our first time! We really enjoyed the pizzas which were very good, would definitely recommend Bàcaro to a friend as I have already with family!

On avait une réservation mais aurait dit que la table n’était pas réservée et pas prête pour nous. Le restaurant était occupé et nous avons dû attendre pour avoir notre commande et apparemment on était pas les seuls.
