   Daniella our server was amazing!!! Took my mom for early Mother’s Day celebration and the server was friendly and accommodating to their first time there so I wanted to give her a huge shout out. In terms of food, wow! The chuletas are a must get! But the bean dip was a very pleasant surprise. The drinks are also amazing!!

   Best in AZ, menu is amazing, embered elote is a classic, now served with bone marrow if desired. Bacanora is the king of all restaurants when it comes to mexican cuisine with parental roots, but new flare. Never sleep on the cocktails here either, and never skip dessert here.

   Great food! And great experience overall. Service was excellent. Only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was they made it very apparent about the 90 minute time limit. Even though the restaurant had empty tables entire time we were there and a complete empty bar. I get that they need to get people in and out And as many people as possible but if it’s supposed to be a nice restaurant that you’re dropping over $300 at for a meal, pressuring them while they’re eating is not experience I enjoy.  I may not return to the restaurant just because of that reason. Or order just one item, which is not what they want you to do because they want you to order a bunch of items to share with everybody. They even tell you that.

   We really enjoyed the food; frijoles, short rib asada and scallops were really delicious. My friend is sensitive to spice and everything has a little kick to it just fyi. But I loved it!

   Mussels (in Phoenix?) w. spicy fish broth were the best I’ve ever tasted, freakin ANYWHERE…who would have thought? My delicious n/a bevvie, cucumber salad with soo much delicious cotija, and champurrada flan made this dinner perfect, no notes!

   I wanted to love Bacanora. I read all the reviews and tried to get reservations for a long time. I finally caught a 9:30pm reservation slot and made my way to Baconora on Grand. The restaurant was slowing down by 9:30pm and I was quickly seated by a very polite and efficient hostess. I wanted to try everything, but since I was alone - I went for the Charred Cabbage Salad and the Bone Marrow appetizers and the Flan for dessert. I was unimpressed by the appetizers. The Bone Marrow appetizer was just not that good. Very little flavor, messy and greasy. This was the least tasteful bone marrow dish I've ever tried. However, the tortillas and the cilantro/radish topping were good. The cabbage salad had the right texture and spice level, but it was far too acidic. I couldn't eat more than a few bites. The flan also was simply not good. The chocolate coating was bitter and I can't help to think the dessert would have been much better without the chocolate. On the other hand, the cocktails were quite good - I went for the Mezcal old fashioned and another tasty mezcal cocktail. Overall, I was disappointed with Bacanora. The difficulty to get reservations and then to travel to downtown Phoenix to try this place - not worth it. I imagine the roast chicken dish and the tomahawk are excellent, but the dishes I had were not. I don't understand all the hype. 3 stars.

   The Best spot in the Valley for Mexican/Senoran inspired cuisine. Reservation is tough to get as the restaurant is cozy. But keep trying as it's worth it.
